"The Big Bang Theory" actor Kunal Nayyar talks about the role in the new thriller series "Suspicion" on Apple TV +.
Kunal Nayyar is without a doubt best known for his role in the hugely successful sitcom series "The Big Bang Theory", which touched on 280 episodes spread over 12 seasons. However, it is not entirely easy to go from a very specific and popular role where everyone recognizes you, to a completely different project without the "enchantment" being broken for the viewers back home on the sofas.

While Raj in "The Big Bang Theory", so many fans of the series thought that Nayyar faked his break in the series that he wrote the book "Yes, my accent is real". The actor was admittedly born in London but grew up in India. In the new series "Suspicion", however, he sports both a British dialect and a full beard, which thanks to the total change of genre from sitcom to conspiracy thriller actually makes it difficult to even recognize Nayyar.

The plot of the new series follows four British citizens who all happen to have visited the same hotel in New York, where a kidnapping of the son of a prominent businesswoman (played by Uma Thurman) took place during the exact same period. Suddenly, the British are chased from the hotel by both the FBI and the British National Crime Agency. At the same time, the four designated people are desperately trying to prove their innocence and blame it on the fact that they just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time, but the question is whether it is really possible to trust all four?

got the chance to talk to Nayyar in connection with the premiere of "Suspicion" on Apple TV +, where he told about how he would like to broaden his portfolio and continue to play new types of roles. He also explains what attracted the most with "Suspicion" and even manages to nominate the Swede Johan Renck as one of the world's best directors.
