Beat Secret mage by becoming the secret mage
"Some inspirational quote from some famous person" - Some famous person
WHAT IS THIS??? This is insane! This puts so much value against secret mage, which annoys me so much, and will make it a little easier to kill them. Cheaper than eater of secrets and has a better starting stat line. 5/5
Weird tech card, it doesn't actually disable the secrets but it can provide huge value and gives you the information you need to play around, all on a premium body. Might see play if secrets are (still) a thing.
This is some wonderful anti-Secret tech.
It'll be funny to see both players playing around secrets that they both know the other one has. If anything, this puts the active player in a better position since this will likely trigger an opponent's secret.
I for one welcome Horde Operative into the meta, especially if Secret Pally is going to become a thing...
One thing I am curious about: is it better to simply remove your opponent's Secrets, or to use them against your opponent?
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
I can hear secret mage in wild crying a river from this .Also if paladin becomes very op with its new legendary or even secret rogue this card will see a lot of play .
This seems pretty strong - even tough i guess we will have to wait how many secret decks will emerge - at least in standard!
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Good if secrets are a thing, garbage if they're not
Awesome card, though obviously a really specific tech card. Premium stats for a 3-drop. Potentially great value if you get multiple Secrets, with the downside that your opponent know what they are (not so Secret after all). Of course, this also reveals their Secrets to you!
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
First we had destroy a weapon then steal a weapon. First we had destroy a secret now steal a secret. Seems that all counter cards that destroyed a thing before are gonna steal instead now. Maybe we'll have something similar for tribes, crab that eat a murloc may see a card that steal a murloc etc.
EDIT: my bad its not steal but copy
Murlocs <3
death of SECRET archetypes
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
At worst, it's a 3 mana 3/4, which is fine. Nice tech card addition.
OBLIVION!
Neat tech card.
Very interesting take on anti-Secret techs. However, not being able to destroy said secrets will still restrain your turns, especially when playing against entire Christmas trees.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Obligatory new Secret Tech that makes sure that Secret decks can't just dominate by just spamming Secrets
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
RIP Secret Mage in wild... And standard. And any other secret deck. As soon as a deck focused on secrets gets into the meta, this will be the go-to tech card just like Kobold Stickyfinger when Evolve Shaman was a thing.
Rip my Kazakus secret rogue :(
Banned for spamming.
At least now you know what yo play around. But way to weird of a tech.
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And even though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
I don't normally play wild but I think the whole wild community is losing their minds over this. Good card for standard, won't be everywhere at the beginning, but when those secrets start becoming a problem, this will start popping up
Introducing secrets archetypes in the new expansion, then making sure they will be countered. Is Blizzard afraid of what they're about to create ?
Ultimate anti-secret decks card
Rogue DH
It still seems to not be enough of a counter. It only copies secrets, that means you still have to deal with them. But it reveals all secrets to you so you don't have to play around them.
We have Eater of Secrets and Kezan Mystic already. And with the amount of secret mages in wild right now they are still played very rarely and don't seem to have a big effect anyway.
Hello Secret Mage, this is tech card, nice to meet you.
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
Kezan Mystic is just crying in a corner. ;-)
So it unsecretifies (definitely a word) enemy secrets, I guess that's always good.
Disclaimer: if the above is factually incorrect or complete rubbish it is definitely both intentional and comedy genius.
my goodness the tempo on this card? I'll probably throw it into my secret paladin deck, just for the extra synergy.
DIE, SECRET MAGE, DIEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Very hyped to see it in wild against those mages
I, for one, love a good tech card and this definitely counts. The statline is solid enough for the card to be run in a lot of decks and it's also odd-costed which matters for some Wild decks. It will be very interesting to see if it's enough to actually change the Wild meta away from Secret Mages.
Maybe the best secret tech ever - you get to know what to play around, you get a vanilla body for cost, and you get some extra value.
Folks will probably expect to see this in wild. But, will secret mage be too slow in the new super aggro unnerfed meta?
This can be so broken
WOW, when i said "i hope they print a new Eater of Secrets kinda tech card" i couldn't even imagine something as good as this! Sure it doesn't remove secrets, but this is still really good. Your opponent now has to play around the same secrets they played, and YOU now know what secrets they played and can also play around it! This card will 100% be a must-include in WILD in order to give those good for nothing Secret mages the hell they deserve. If any secret based deck ever becomes problematic, this will 1000% see play.
Oh and it has premium stats for a 3 drop as well, guess which card people Secret mages will complain about till it gets the Bad Luck Albatross treatment or worse? -_-
Edit: ODD Cost, so ODD Decks can use it.. Oh no ODD Paladin and maybe ODD DH might tech it in..
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
This is amazing, well done Blizzard. Now we can actually play around random secret generation when against rogues. It's gonna be beautiful
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
What? :D :D :D
This looks like a card I'd rate "too powerfull" in a custom cometition, but I'm really hyped if and when this will see play.
What an insane effect.
nice one, can definitely screw some things up
I'm not online it's just your imagination
rip secret mage?
Its kinda a tech card, but not really. It doesn't remove your opponent's secrets, so you cant just play this and then have free reign. It does mean your opponent can't do that to you too.
A small little synergy with Cannonmaster Smythe. Not likely to happen, but hey its there.
Nice tech assuming secret decks will be big in the coming Meta.
I'm guessing that it will be because of something related to Secret Paladin being printed. Or it could also be that they created this because there already is a lot of secret support for most secret using classes already. (Rogue in AoO, Hunter and Mage in MaDF, and now Paladin in FitB.) Oh and they brought back Avenge in the core set, which is one of the best secrets ever printed. Or they FINALLY said "alright fine WILD players, here is your anti-secret card. Now please stop complaining about Secret Mage."
Or it could just be all 4 of those at the same time. Guess we will have to wait and see.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Eater of secrets was a great tech card in standard. Wild is lot a different, tech cards dont matter too much in wild
Banned for spamming.
The one time where I value a card higher for wild than for standard.
I’m looking forward to my first infinite loop of this card and Plagiarize.
at first this seems good, but the more I look at this, the more I think this is trash.
first, destroying enemy secrets is much more important than copying them
second, enemy does not lose synergy or tempo by this.
third, even at wild ranked, the best eater of secrets would destroy 3 mage secrets. so it would be pretty unrealistic to hope that you will get a xmas tree after playing this.
in conclusion, this is a trash tier tech card imo
This begs the question, is it better to copy your opponent's secrets, or destroy them?
In general, if you want to survive into the late game, you should worry more about removing enemy minions rather than playing your own. However, in a more aggressive strategy this will probably work better as it does more to advance your board.
I also find it interesting how now both sides will know what secret their opponent has, meaning they can both play around them optimally.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Paladin, hunter and mage gets a lot of secret sinergy lasts sets, and Shadowjeweler Hanar still at standar.
That tech card is a playable card for decks that are countered by secret decks and works as a vanila 3 mana 3/4 against other decks, not meta defining but not a trash tier tech.
By The Holy Light!
Love it!
HOLY SHIT THAT'S SOMETHING!
Definitely seems like it will be better in wild than standard to me.
if secret meta comes to play this card is OP
As a tech card, this is very well-stated!
This looks great, not only you force your opponent to deal with his own secrets, which should be good since they see play, but you will also know what the secrets are.
Bring back old Warrior Control.
Good and different tech card, also nice stats, not as dead as other tech card stats haha
Incredible anti secret tech. It is gonna be everywhere in wild
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Amazing counter for Secret Mage! Best thing is it works in Odd decks in wild!
VERY nifty cheap Secret tech. In Wild I imagine people might have fun using this against Secret Mage. In standard we haven't seen Secret techs be hard run in years, so I'm not optimistic.
Neat tech type. Not a destroy, which is a big bummer for the secret holder, but could still really offer a solid counter to secret focused decks. Still has the potential to be crap depending on what class/secrets you get.
Best anti-secret tech ever? Still a tech card, so secrets have to be big for this card to see play. At least it offers a counter if a secret meta takes off.
Oh man... This is Wild is going to help level the playing field of Secret Mage a lot given that it's been a Tier 1 for YEARS now. In standard, with all the secret support that is coming out, I can see this being a super tech card.
Strong tech, mostly in wild.
Solid tech card
If you can't beat em join em.
It's not the death of anything. Secret hate has never been widely played in the past, and this will be no different.
No matter how powerful you make the effect, it's still just a Spider Tank in more than half of your match-ups, so it's not worth the slot.
For a tech card, stats are good, not sure if I want to run it in my deck tho.
♡ u 4ever 2008 - 2022
Wow! Like... wow! On a vanilla body!
-=alfi=-
I mean this might see play if there is a lot of secrets at once. It depends how things work out in that respect. If you are dealing with 1 or 2 secrets at a time the 4 mana 5/4 that removes one is likely better since you'd usually rather just not deal with the secrets instead of taking them like this.
Delicious value PLUS one acceptably statted minion. Perhaps not as good as simply eating your enemy's Secrets, but I like it.
this is going to be a great tech card and with a great body attached, can be played in any deck for sure, unless the meta doesnt have any secrets being played
Wow!
Great 3 cost card that will really hurt secret decks definitely will be using this.
This is a pretty good tech card. I always love secret tech cards for some reason.
not a fan of secrets that are not secrets
Wow, what is this? How does it work? Does it copy what's in play? That's probably it. Huh.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
This is a nice fuck you to all secret decks. Doesn't destroy the secrets, just makes them 100% not secret anymore. That said, some key cards from secret mage are leaving, so I don't know how well secret decks will do.
Nice tech against the new secret pally!
Secret Mages and Hunters beware.
Oh, and DH sigils?
Beast of a tech card.
Secret tech always seems to be less useful than people think, and this one doesn't even remove the secrets. Most secret strategies are powerful not because of the secrets themselves but because of secret synergy cards. What are you going to do, run this in a deck that runs its own secret synergy cards in an attempt to win the mirror match? Not likely. I'm not expecting this to be a good card.
It's a decent tech card that can generate some value. If in next meta will have 1-2 "Secret Deck", this card will find a spot.
Do these tech cards ever see play? Unless a sideboard is implemented..
Wtf? My Secret Mage deck in wild is dead. Thanks Blizzard. Just hoping we see a similar card for Rez Priest (probably not as Blizz has always protected this nonsense)
English is not my native language, so please excuse occasional mistakes
I love this card. I will definitely want to slot at least one copy into my Secret Mage deck.
Ribbit
Very nice secret tech. Doesn't destroy so the secrets can get value but gives you info and free secrets! Can be very fun to make someone play around their own game plan.
Always love tech cards that doesn't just shut down the enemy but makes them adapt.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
I don't see this getting much play in standard unless more insane secrets are added to paladin or mage, and in wild I'd rather use Secreteater
4 Mana 7/7
Interesting.... it allows you to kind of work around the secrets your opponent played.
Damn ... that's a strong 3 drops!
The previous secret tech-cards look very pale compare to this powercreep-revisited version
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
This is a really funky way to do tech, although weird since it doesn't actually get rid of the Secrets.
Maximum hilarity: Play this, then play Eater of Secrets. Now YOU have the Christmas tree.
It's good to see how they try to balance against secrets)
*puts it into secret mage* heh
I always like tech cards against secret, even when I'm playing a secret deck myself.
This will be fun in wild, especially as an odd-cost...
I think this is too much tech for standard but could help get Secret Mage under control in wild. Great concept to help you plan your play if the opponent is secret heavy.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Even if secrets are prevalent, I'm not sure this will work out. It has vanilla stats though, so that's a plus at least.
Arena > Wild > Standard
Nice tech card for secrets. Makes it easier to play around them plus you get a vanilla 3 drop.
awesome
I've been here a while; just hanging out in the background.
Does not remove opponents secrets, so probably not good. Might still be an interesting companion tech card in Secret Mage though.
In wild, let’s play Eater of secrets afterwards
Worse than destroying imo. Hopefully there will be no secret meta
Not really Anti-Secret, but the knowledge and tempo gained vs a secret deck will be exceptional.
At this point I have spent too much money on these games to quit.
Now pass me another pack, and lets see what I pull.
nice anti secret mechanic, useful to have and i never seem to have it in a deck when i need it type of card.
Always love a good tech card
this card is probably good if you opponent has secrets
I feel like some people here don't understand wild already has like 4 secret techs.
This one is odd-costed which will definitely make a difference. So far there's only Chief Inspector, but this is certainly better.
Cheap Secret hater, okay on curve vs other decks. Will be a common tech for both modes.
Wild is saved! In standard this should see little play unless Secret Paladin becomes crazy strong.
good card
Kenny's little poet. 😇
This will be the only secret tech option in standard that punishes multiple secrets, which has been often desired from such a tech. However, Horde Operative doesn't remove the enemy secrets, but rather gets you more tempo to potentially swing the game. We've seen secrets be viable in Rogue, Mage, and Hunter recently, but I still think Operative will suffer from being a tech against something that isn't universal like Acidic Swamp Ooze and weapons.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Too techy but at least it's not a legendary
I dont know, looks weird.
Omg! How is this only rare? Imagine playing secrets you can't play with your class!
What a great card, also there's no more need of using the tracker lol
For The HORDE!
Oh... can wait to see this meta with all of secret decks. One card, Horde Operative - best tech to win against secret decks.
Yas, steal the secrets, copy them all, wonderfull card
Pretty fun tech card.
Looking forward to some funny trolden videos with these shenanigans. curious to see how the secrets will play out in non secret decks
Good secret tech - with decks introducing secret paladin and giving secret mage some fuel this might see some play as a tech card
good
A very weird tech card that doesn't actually solve any problems. The best thing about it is that now you know what your opponent's Secrets are, which makes them easier to play around...but you still have to play around them and now you've paid 3 Mana just to find out what they are. In most cases, I'd rather take a good guess than put this in a deck. If Horde Operative sees more than occasional play, that means the meta needs some serious adjusting.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Love the concept of this card. At the very least it's useful to know which Secrets are in play so you can play around them. Might be the new Acidic Swamp Ooze, played in every deck, depending on how impactful Secret Paladin will be
just a tech card that won't see much play
Interesting tech card but destroying secrets will always be better than copying them so I don't see it being played in Wild. Might have a chance in Standard if Secret Paladin turns out to be oppressive.
Looking forward to seeing Swaguar put this in his anti-Secret Mage deck.
Secret tech mmmmm
Has some potential in wild due to secret mage, but this doesn't destroy secrets for the other. Therefore it won't do enough to counter secret mages, they have too much synergy with their own secrets and can easily play around them as well
Much needed anti secret card
Honestly, I think I'd rather destroy Secrets than get copies of them. I don't know if I fit this in in addition to other tech cards in Wild.
Welcome to the site!
A vanilla 3/4 for 3 mana is fine, if not very exciting, but playing this against the right deck could be crazy value! Sure, your opponent knows what secrets you have, but you know what secrets they have, too, and it doesn't make things any less awkward for your opponent to play around.
Busted for a tech card
