this topdeck cards, like the legendary warlock one are pretty fun. Hope this one sees more play than thatcobe
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
It's like a more restrictive Outcast effect. This isn't terrible at it's base form, and combined with Secret Passage and other cheap draws, I could see this being consistent enough to see play.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Beautiful Face Rogue
Finally!
A card that makes Secret Passage and Shadow Step good.
It's a strictly better Gormok the Impaler -- easier trigger and a lesser effect if you can't trigger, AND it's not legendary.
Gormok was pretty good in Zoolock back in the day, but that was Grand Tournament era, which was kind of a grindy meta IIRC.
Overall, probably pretty good for Rogue now that Eviscerate is gone.
Neat trigger.
4 mama 4/4 with deal 4 is strong. Just not sure how reliable that trigger is and dealing 2 might not be good enough. However it's nice that it can hit face if needed for reach.
Edit: Wow I was reading this as "if you drew it this turn". That's not what it says. Shadowstep would activate this to deal 4. That makes it even better. I'm sure this will find a spot.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
good card even without the topdeck battlecry as a 4 mana 4/4 body + 2 damage can be really good in most situations
Probably fine, but a little pricey for a card you expect to play after you play some kind of card draw.
Hmmm, direct damage is always welcome in rogue, but this is a 4 drop..Will Rogue forgo Kazakus to run this?
This looks promising, but we'll have to see what kind of support effects like this gets. Pretty neat idea though!
Decent... powerful with Shadowstep and stuff
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And even though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
At least shadowstep will still be in standard, this card has some potential.
4 Mana 7/7
"If this entered your hand this turn" is a new mechanic and means this can also be bounced and played for the 4 damage (not just drawn this turn). Could be alright, but we'll need to see if it gets any more support.
A similar style of card like Keli'dan the Breaker, except damage not destroy.
I assume this is the replacement for Eviscerate, although the condition is much harder to achieve.
This isn't terrible, especially if it can be bounced and that counts as "enters your hand".
Drawing this in Rogue is way more consitant than other cards, since you can get this through Secret Passage for example. Still not completly sold on it.
Hard to evaluate a card like this. Aggro would love a near top in burst like this, but it's cost and conditional means that it's not ideal in a lean aggro hand
conditional effect.
Rogue DH
Seems very strong with bounce effects. It could help rogue do even more damage to face, and control the board in the rare moments that it needs to control the board.
Will probably be a 4 mana 4/4 deal 2 damage most of the time.
Triggering its upside (4 damage), seems clunky to execute.
Welp, this is going face for sure
Great card for tempo Rogue will definitely be in a lot of wild and standard decks
Bouncy bounce card, or a topdeck which should be relatively easy for Rogue with its card draw. I think it's versatile enough to see play.
It's literally Quick-Time!
This card seems like it'll probably be pretty good. It's decent for bouncing, and a 4/4 for 4 that deals 2 damage is by itself pretty serviceable.
Seems both strong and gimmicky
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Very strong with bounce effects, at least 6 damage with one.bounce if not top decked. Very strong.
That is really curious wording, so it probably means the 4-damage can be triggered by simply bouncing this back into your hand. It's like Eviscerate with a body, except a little harder to pull off.
My question is, if you play it for 2 damage, then Shadowstep it and play it on the same turn, you can deal up to 6 damage (or even 8 if you topdecked it)?
Doesn't cost too much for a face rogue? Really strong if draw on 4 :)
A very interesting design for return2hand mechanic
-=alfi=-
The fact that with shadowstep it becomes a 6 mana deal 6 is even better
Didn't even realize the Shadowstep potential before reading the comments, I'm really not good at Rogue...
Regardless, getting that 4 damage is very unreliable but then again 2 damage should be good enough in a lot of cases. Should see play.
Zzz Face Rogue
Banned for spamming.
Like others mention before, this + shadow step seems ok to me.
♡ u 4ever 2008 - 2022
love the potential, seems clumsy though
nice mechanic
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Not bad, could be good in some situations.
Disclaimer: if the above is factually incorrect or complete rubbish it is definitely both intentional and comedy genius.
Exactly my thoughts
I'm not online it's just your imagination
seems like a good tempo card
It's like Eviscerate, but worse. It's good tempo though, so might see some play if there is some relatively slow board-focused Rogue deck.
The wording on this card, compared to Keli'dan the Breaker is just so weird. Was it worded this way so you could still do 4 damage with bounce effects like Shadowstep?
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Top deck at its finest. And with secret passage you can get the effect .Don't know if you want this card in aggro rogue .
Reminds me to much of Kel'idan the Breaker....a card that barely even worked with Plot Twist.
Obviously you can Shadowstep this for bonus damage and maybe that will be necessary because we need a replacement for Eviscerate, but out of all the things in the game, cards that rely on being drawn at a specific point rarely see play.
Then again, maybe we get more copy and clone shenanigans and then this just makes ssense.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Nice one. 4 Mana 4/4 is decent enough but with the ability i think this is pretty good and will be a staple in most rogue decks.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Really good and rogue have a couple of tools to abuse the effect. Please note that it ca also target face.
Hmm, good effect and it's a battlecry so it's easy to trigger. I think Oil Rig Ambusher will see play. It's very strong with Shadowstep, Secret Passage and Tenwu of the Red Smoke. It's often a better Gormok the Impaler, and it's going to be rogues replacement for Eviscerate because that's rotating.
Oil Rig Ambusher will see plenty of play.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Strong. Good stats, good design, good effect even if not played for 4 damage. Probably an auto include in all rogue decks.
Murlocs <3
The replacement for face damage has arrived. Good tempo play.
OBLIVION!
Secret Passage then go face.
So specifically worded that you can get it through Secret Passage, but it's not really great. Most of the time it's gonna be a 4/4 deal 2, which ist only decent, and only a choice for arena. But I do remember those Oil rig platform back in the day with those aggressive goblins, I ran from them a few times...
excellent value and not even combo. will definitely see play
Deals direct damage and is a minion.
Eviscerate may be gone but its spirit lives on.
You can easily just do 8-12 damage a turn with this, with the right cards. Even as a 4/4 deal 2, I don't hate it honestly.
4 Mana 4/4 with a potential deal 4 to face? I would run this in Aggro Rogue
English is not my native language, so please excuse occasional mistakes
The wording here is quite interesting. It includes top decked, Secret Passage, bounce and generated by random effects.
Good stats and great effect if drawn when usable
Wording? Really strange, but seems like a solid card to discover or bounce around.
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
At worst, it's a 3 mana 4/4 with Battlecry: Cast Arcane Shot. This sort of small conditional burst is more healthy for the game than Eviscerate, however, it will feel that much worse when taking the topdecked effect to the face for lethal.
While I appreciate the idea of conditional burst for Rogue, I would have prefered another approach. Still decent, though.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Since it says "entered your hand this turn" instead of "drawn this turn," I assume it will activate after a Shadowstep or other bounce effect. That could be very relevant.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Appears very strong, though I wonder how it interacts with Secret Passage
This will see a lot of play to start, but unless someone finds a way to make it consistent, then it won't make the cut long term
Would absolutely love this at 3 mana where it would be absolutely positively broken. Seems fair, so rogue will find a way to abuse it.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
I think Shadowstep will guarantee the 4 damage hit. very good card.
Nice in a midrange rogue
Feel like SI:7 Agent is better but time will tell.
4 dmg from nowhere!
Oof, and here I thought rogue might be less face ;)
Seems alright. Not the end of the world if you don't get the full effect, and seems like something rogues can put to use.
Probably won't see too much play
I like the damage to ability for top deck. I'm hoping it will see play though with a 4 mana cost
yeah, what he sai
Seems good can go face too and can replace evis with shadowstep
This will be a decent burst damage card for Rogue. Use this with shadow step and it turns into a 6 mana deal 6 or 8 damage to face.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Decent damage for a condition that shouldn't be too hard to meet. 4/4 body not terrible either.
Trick to regular play may be the 4-mana cost, but seems fair
Fine body with only effects that are upsides.
Ribbit
Bigger SI:7 Agent? That one used to be great, but eventually got outclassed so we'll have to wait and see if this one will work or not. Keep in mind there could be more bounce effects in Barrens to make this better.
"Entered your hand" as opposed to drawn. So if it enters your hand via any means you can get 4 damage if you play it the same turn, unlike Keli'dan the Breaker. Keli'dan doesn't do damage, but you get what I mean, hopefully.
The conditional effect reduces its effectiveness. I think it may be fringe at best.
At this point I have spent too much money on these games to quit.
Now pass me another pack, and lets see what I pull.
too random to have an impact.
Well, quite ok... if play with 2 damage, quite great if play with 4 damage.
Good card, may see play in aggro rogue
Might aswell also be a pirate
I've been here a while; just hanging out in the background.
It's ok as a 4 mana 4/4 deal 2 dmg, but rogue can bounce her lots of time to get a 2 mana 4/4 deal 4 dmg.
By The Holy Light!
Ok-ish card, but will probably not see play in Constructed.
This will be the most frustrating top deck to lose to, but I do not think this will be included in a lot of decks
good card but rogue have better ones
its not eviscerate, im going to miss eviscerate,
A good arena card maybe
Amazing in Arena, but probably redundant in Standard. Passage does make it consistent, but you would like spamming cheaper stuff more.
I think that this will be played in every Rogue deck that doesn't run Kazakus until it rotates, I'm very confindent in this being one of the best cards of the set.
Might not look very strong at first sight, but rogues have plenty of ways to get max value out of this card. And oftentimes, 2 damage will probably be enough already. If not in constructed, then certainly in Arena this will see tons of play.
Arena > Wild > Standard
good card
Kenny's little poet. 😇
In most case is a SI:7 Agent with a +1/+1 for 1 more mana (and battlecry istead of combo). Avarage in this scenario...but we have some way to manipulate this card to obtain the full effect: Drawn, Discovered, created by a card, using Secret Passage, Shadowstep, etc.
Rogue keeps getting such amazing value
It's just a solid card. Even a 4 mana 4/4 that deals 2 damage is good, there really only is an upside here.
Good arena card. Seems pretty average for constructed.
Great with the tutors the rogue have already
For The HORDE!
Yes, rogue needs more burst from Secret Passage, tks blizz... tks
Seems too situational. Play it off of passage I guess but at 4 mana even that is a tough sell.
i dont think this will see a lot of play. to pricey for the condition
Good battlecry, comparable to SI:7 agent at baseline and quite good damage otherwise
good
Good minion to chip in damage. Particularly devastating with Shadowstep and Secret Passage. It might find a way into OTK decks, but I think it's more likely that we see it as just another part of Tempo/Burn Rogue decks.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Esvicerate substitute?
4 mana 4/4 and deal 4 dmg (or 2 sometimes) - good, topdeck card
Strong stats, and works really well with Secret Passage
This is super super good. Stats are okay, effect is really good.
Face damage with a body, not bad
Seems good on paper, you can draw it with Secret Passage to guarantee it's active, but when it's not it's a more expensive SI:7 Agent. Overall I don't think it will see play.
Evis as a Minion, eh.
too expensive to be good
I like this kind of trigger, but I especially like that just like the Warlock legendary it doesn't just do nothing if you haven't added it to your hand that turn - it still at least does something. I expect to see this quite a bit.
Welcome to the site!
I really like the idea of cards that are better if you can play them the turn they are drawn. It's hard to plan your turn around, because you don't know if you'll draw into it, but it's still a decent card even if it's already in your hand.
Lot's of people talking about regular draw like the Warlock legendary, not so many people talking about the incredible synergy with Shadowstep, Tenwu of the Red Smoke, Secret Passage, and Field Contact. Combine those with Scabbs Cutterbutter and Efficient Octo-bot and you got the makings of a new Miracle Rogue.
~ An expertly disguised dinosaur
Good tempo card, but rogue has lots of strong cards. Will this make the cut?
This is a four mana SI:7 Agent that is more easily played on curve and has additional upside. Given how much Rogue likes drawing cards and using Shadowstep, the upside can easily be realized. The only thing going against this card is that a lot of Rogue's damage is super cheap along with their card draw to the point where they may not care about a 4/4 body unless the class slows down in the future.
For glory, honor, and gold!
