Deck thinning is always good, will see play
Also good with all the cards that put the enemy health to 1
Great card for secret paladin definitely will see play in the wild variation
Too strong and annoying.
By The Holy Light!
This is exactly what secret paladin needs
Great card for secret deck thinning.
At this point I have spent too much money on these games to quit.
Now pass me another pack, and lets see what I pull.
I 'woah'd seeing this card. Don't think that secret pally is viable because of it, but it will certainly be included in decks with some secrets in!
Meh, unimpressive.
If this is what's supposed to make Smythe playable I don't buy it. 1/3 weapons are pretty terrible these days because you can barely get rid of anything without weapon buffs (which Paladin does not have).
Getting a Secret from your deck means you cannot control which one, which is the most important aspect of Paladin secrets since you usually want a specific outcome (although you could make the argument that Avenge and Reckoning are both independently useful).
Still not sold on Secret Paladin. That deck already had better support than currently available and still saw no play. Maybe we get a really good secret that allows for a secret package in a different deck, but other than that this is filler.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Well this will be annoying. If secret paladin is good (which at this point I think is very possible) then this will likely be a must have. Casting three secrets and getting to ping minions or face while you are at it is pretty nuts.
I am no longer upset about Desperate Measures leaving Standard :'D
Seems like a really great card - kind of "2 mana draw 3". The damage output of Sword of the Fallen is appropriately weak, and all of the secret payoff/synergy cards you'd run with this only care about having secrets in play, not having cast them from hand like Secretkeeper did. That should make it highly playable without being oppressive (since it's a very weak top deck in the late game).
cards that trigger a free effect are always good.
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Actually a decent card, since Paladin has no draw any deck thinning is good. Just gonna suck to draw the secrets naturally.
Now this deck suddenly makes sense. If you can cheat out secrets from your deck, then secret paly might work, I don't think it will be a good deck, but it should be at least a playable deck.
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And even though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
That was the missing piece for the legendary, now just missing one more secret and I think paladin has the most concrete ideas and strong identity to be good this expansion.
With this card, I wonder if a secret paladin could be a thing in Standard.
♡ u 4ever 2008 - 2022
You won't play Palladin secrets without this (in Standard). The question is only how good a "Secret Palladin" deck will be.
Wow this weapon is amazing for secret synergies. Well, except for Secretkeeper that is
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
AMAZING secret paladin card. It's effectively paladins version Phase Stalker, and it's finally some good Secret paladin support. Most neutral secret support cards like Mad Scientist and Inconspicuous Rider are not worth it in Paladin because the paladin secrets are very cheap. Like with the formentioned cards you lose more mana playing them, than when you just play the secret alone. But with Sword of the Fallen you cast secrets from your deck (Which tins out your deck, which is super strong.) AND it cheats out 1 additional secret for it's cost.
Secret paladin will still have a problem though, and that's a lack of good secrets. Avenge and Oh My Yogg! are the best secrets in standard after rotation, and good secret paladin support is rotating out. So for Secret paladin to become a viable deck i'm certain were going to see more paladin secrets revealed soon, AND maybe an Desperate Measures, Secret Plan/Mystery Winner reprint? Would be nice.
I'm still a bit skeptical about Secret Paladin, but i think it will probably see some play. If it get's anywhere near the level of support Secret Rogue got in Ashes of Outland, and Hunter/Mage got in Darkmoon Faire, then the deck will be fine! Just a shame you won't get EXP from the Darkmoon faire Oh My Yogg! achievement after FitB releases, because i feel like it's a lot easier to complete it in a Secret Paladin deck.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Looks very strong! If paladin gets more strong secrets, this will totally work.
Really strong! Damn!
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Good card. Lets you thin your deck out and still put a secret in the field.
Alot of stuff for secret pally. Along with the new core secrets and the new legendary this might be a deck. If it is, this card will see play.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Is this a good card without good secrets? Not really. It thins out your deck a little which is great, but how many secrets will Paladin actually be running to justify the deck-thinning? Paladin secrets one at a time just aren't that strong.
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
2 mana, cast 3 secrets from your deck and clear a couple of tokens.
For just 2 mana seems really fair, fringing with op, but not really.
Nice card for the new secret package.
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
As is Paladin wasn't annoying enough. Yuck.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
Draw 3 secrets, play them, and deal 1 damage 3 times. Great value for 2 mana. Curves out well into Cannonmaster Smythe.
OBLIVION!
Incredible, you can even swing the 3 times if you play it on curve and then drop Cannonmaster Smythe on the same turn
Good card, but we'll see if Paladin Secrets are worth building around.
That's a really weak weapon stat-wise, but the Secret effect is pretty darn strong. There is good support for Secret Paladin this expansion, so I'm giving this 4/5.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
OK this is just great and gets great marks .Now we need one secret from this expansion to get the deck rolling.
Year of the Gryphon aka The Return of Secret Paladin 🤩
Secret Paladin's enabler fof Canonmaster Smythe
I like this better than previous secret synergies with Paladin. And with Oh My Yogg! driving people nuts, I can only imagine this being a bit more fun too
Ok, secret paladin could be a thing.
Who did this sword belong to? He didn't give us a name, just told us to stop asking questions.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
with the power of dude and libram paladin decks, is secret paladin going to get that much attention?
good card.
Kenny's little poet. 😇
Best weapon for secret paladin. We will see if the deck will be strong enough.
oh boy. It's christmastime again
Strong effect but 1 attack is really low. Despite I don't belive that in standard will raise a new Secret Paladin, this weapon can make thin the deck and let it gain more consistency. Patches the Pirate was strong for that reason...so maybe Sword of the Fallen can find a spot in an agro Paladin
I'm doubtful of Secret Paladin being good in Standard, but any Secret Paladin will definitely run this.
This is much better than it looks, basically draw three cards
-=alfi=-
This can help Secret Paladin thin out their deck quite efficiently as this works to draw and play three cards for 2 mana. Granted, this occurs over three turns, but it at least makes sure you have the chance to equip for a couple of secrets for Cannonmaster Smythe. Still, I think there needs to be some additional efficient card draw to help complete the reload potential of the archetype and compete with DH, Rogue, and Warlock that have really efficient reloads for their aggressive strategies.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Missed chance for an easter egg. They should've made the sword look like the one seen in George and Karl Dungeon Run boss since the former later became George the Fallen.
This is the exact kind of support Smythe needed to be good. The quality of Paladin Secrets is one thing, but getting them into play us something that they struggle with the most. Cards like this that thin your deck while also support its inherent synergy can be very powerful, although its still early so say whether or not this will be strong enough. Nasty Turn 1 Coin + Sword of the Fallen into turn 2 Sunreaver Spy though.
This looks like good support for a Secret Paladin archetype, I just don't know if this is what the legendary needs to be a strong play. Most times when a secret comes into play your opponent does what they can to trigger it in the most advantageous way possible. I don't see many Paladin secrets that will last more than a turn or two. You'll need a secret or two in hand, plus a few in your deck, at the same time that you draw this weapon and have Smythe in hand to play. I just think it will be a tough thing to set up in a meaningful way.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
pretty good for the new minion
Really good card, we dont want to play our secret or draw it, playing them by other tools is a really good thing for paladin secret archetype it will greatly help
Murlocs <3
Solid card
I usually want to play my Paladin secrets more deliberately, but it's hard to say no to free stuff!
This is amazing if Secret Paladin becomes a thing again.
OMG, this is exactly what I said Secret Paladin should have when I was brainstorming with a friend recently. (Well, I also said there should be a minion that draws a card when a Secret is triggered, but that might be too strong.)
I’ll be trying this out on day 1.
I think with the secret support we've seen so far, as long as there are enough of them, this could be really nice support for that deck style. We know cheating out secrets can be useful for both deck thinning and creating tempo. If only there were better pally secrets.....
This is a great card, simple, strong, and cheap enough for budget decks.
Great card for secret paladin. Only giving 3 stars right now, but if Secret Paladin gets the right support (i.e. the right secrets), this quickly approaches 4 or 5 star territory!
Very powerful for secret paladin and great sinergy with the legendary that summons minions
1 less mana and I could see Odd Paladin playing this. It's still a good card for regular secret paladin however.
Ribbit
Wow. This tutors and plays 3 secrets for 2 mana plus some pings. I wouldn't be surprised if this got nerfed at some point. That is just a lot of value for 2 mana.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
You're paying 3 mana do cast 3 mana worth of secrets, the 3 damage upside isn't that much
4 Mana 7/7
This is pretty good, nothing fancy but useful to clear out the deck.
I really like this card, and hope it'll see play
I mean... I thought a 2/3 body that thinned your deck when you used your hero power was good. This is almost guaranteed free secret immediately.
Secret Pally Support
Rogue DH
That's the card Secret Paladin needed, I think this might make the archtype into a true meta deck!
thinning decks is always excellent
Secrets, no more, I cant, just kill me
Gonna hate Secret Paladin as much as Mage and Hunter
now this will make you want to play secret paladin :D
Nice
Great enabler for a secret Pally deck list
English is not my native language, so please excuse occasional mistakes
so good
For 2 mana you get a 1/3 weapon and 3 free secrets from your deck. Not bad, assuming it doesn't get oozed. Not so great as a weapon, since at least Libram of Justice would also set enemy minions to 1 health for you.
Wow, multiple cards tutor and casts it!
If Secrets are going to be a thing, this will be part of it. Not really sure, though.
I know right, annoying .. but at the same time, Pally kinda deserves a nice set this time aroun
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Tech card to fish out your cheap paladin's secrets.
This card is as strong as the deck itself. Thrash if the deck is thrash, amazing if the deck appears to be amazing.
Arena > Wild > Standard
Sword of the Fallen is reallyyyyy good. Might see play in Wild as well, though Secret Paladin has never been a powerhouse in that format. This i an important card for Secret Paladin decks in standard though, if they ever become a thing.
can be very good if secret pally is a thing
I don't know if this is enough for secret paladin to see play - but in isolation this removes the 1 mana spells from your deck, has a lot of durability - solid card overall
indeed
If Secret Paladin works, it will be because of this weapon. This naturally curves into Northwatch Commander and Crossroads Gossiper, not to mention that this also thins your draw so you're more likely to draw your secret support cards instead of your secrets. I wouldn't be surprised if this has the highest mulligan win rate of any card in the archetype.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Good for secret pally but has a downside
I'm not online it's just your imagination
Kinda RNG, but will probably see play
Nice card for Secret Paladin even tough we do not have as many secrets as before.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
2 mana weapon with draw 3 card, opieopie
One of the best cards for secret synergies. It's cheap, it plays secrets and it thins out your deck. Really good!
Its good, like really good. Considering how difficult it is to draw for paladin, having something that basically draws its most useless cards and play it immediately, is really nice to have.
It does suffer from only having a token 1 damage. But that's hardly an issue. Whatever spawns from secret paladin will surely look to contest board, and played on 2 its not entirely bad. Played later and it basically draws you a card and plays a secret.
If secret pally doesn't see play despite all these support, then team5 has really fk this one up big because I don't think its going to get better than this.
Wow secret paladin got much better this is insane even better than drawing 3 cards.
Holy, this is good. Filtering your deck from these pesky secret by not only drawing them, but playing them automatically. This is the card that makes Secret Paladin works for me.
good
Basically draw 3 cards and cast them, really good
Good for Secret decks, thinning your deck and getting a Secret into play so you can trigger some of the many cards that care about having Secrets. This feels like a must-run in Secret decks.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Strong and annoying. Auto-include in secret pala decks - trigger free effect will work always
Super strong weapon, will be a staple in Secret Paladin decks
I believe Libram Paladin will use a secret package to thin out their deck and allow them to more reliably draw their win conditions. And if they're worried they'll draw their secrets, then Pen Flinger comes in with extra triggers. Sword of the Fallen will improve this gameplan immensely.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Brilliant card for wild
love this! looking forward to christmas time with uther
Great for Buff Paladin
I've been here a while; just hanging out in the background.
Singlehandedly enables Secret Paladin.
good card
doubt the whole archetype will be good, but this card is strong
Three Paladin Secrets... for 2 Mana...with 3 damage...across 3 turns...I like you.
Best card of the expansion.
Auto include for secret paladin. Deck thinning and cheating secrets out for no mana.
It doesn't matter how bad paladin secrets are if you can cast them for free. It's like a weaker, slower mysterious champion. The plus side is that this comes out much sooner, which could be a really nice way to start off the match.
Great card for making secrets work efficiently
For The HORDE!
Seems alright, but I don't think Paladin wants to play enough Secrets in Standard to make this worth it. I honestly don't even think Wild wants this.
Welcome to the site!
Drawing 1 mana secrets less often and putting them on the board. Stats for the sword are okay. Weapon seems good.
