  • Does this change the evaluation of the new Rogue Weapon? I will still play this together with SSS, instead of the new one.

  • Imagine being a budget player and either getting this or some Swinetusk Shanks. But is definitely playable!

  • Good value-generating card for Rogue. Pairs well with the new Rogue weapon too.

  • Same cost, stats, and mechanics as Xaril, Poisoned Mind, with the added benefit of major Weapon Rogue (and in particular Swinetusk Shank) synergy. Seems great for that deck.

  • It gives you weapon buffs, twice.

Expect this to be in just about every rogue deck bar the craziest memes. Got rid of Eviscerate only to recreate even more burn with this thing.

  • List of poisons?

  • As expected this legendary support the "new" theme and I expect to see some experimentation of a midrange Weapon Rogue. But this is enough? This card is similar to Xaril, Poisoned Mind which has seen some play without be super stong or the core of the deck

  • Nice one. Really like this weapon rogue type

  • A more reliable Xaril, Poisoned Mind

  • I'm not sure this is good enough.

IT's necessary for Swinetusk Shiv, but it doesn't exactly inspire hope for that archetype.

Xaril had way more flexible outcomes and he saw almost no play in a meta that was way slower.

Also, it's pretty risky to build your deck around stacking a single weapon.

It definitely makes Shank better than it was, but SSS is still probably more consistently strong.

  • Xaril's teacher .This looks great all around for rogue .Get cards for your combo cards plus the new weapon. It will see play .

  • Great value generation, and can easily be used in most rogue decks.

  • Poison support, guess they decided 2 Nitroboost Poisons per deck weren't enough...

  • good card

  • Do we know what the Poisons are? Will there be more poison card?

  • It will base rogue gameplay on weapons, if there is too much ooze on the ladder this archetype will have a hard time

  • Looks fun, but way too slow for aggressive decks. Won't see much play.

  • cont down until zeddy loses his mind over another decent rogue card..... three... two ... one.

  • Depends highly on how good the average poison will be

  • This looks insanely good, and solid support for Swinetusk Shank. I'm a bit worried about the state of Weapon Rogue coming up. It might be just a tiny bit slower, but way more powerful.

  • hmm old days

  • I hope more poison spells will come out

  • Double the value, but will it be enough? Looks fun though.

  • Weapons Rogue

  • This seems pretty good with or without the new weapon will see play for sure.

  • A fair rogue legendary that isn't super broken. About damn time. Will still see play, most definitely

  • Woah, a Xaril, Poisoned Mind reprint that works with poisons, well that means that Apothecary Helbrim is already a really powerfull card, because poisons are cheap and can start combos worst case scenario. Well time to look at all the poisons (so far):

Poisons in standard after rotation: Deadly Poison, Nitroboost Poison and Paralytic Poison.

Wild: Ones listed above + Leeching Poison. (I don't think Tinker's Sharpsword Oil and Envenom Weapon classify as "poison".)

From what i can see i'm very certain this will see play in a LOT of rogue decks, after all why wouldn't you want more buffs so you can go FACE. Xaril, Poisoned Mind saw a lot of play, and Apothecary Helbrim is a lot more reliable version and why wouldn't you want more Nitroboost Poisons? (PLEASE LET THAT LEAKED NERF BE REAL.)

I kinda feel like Apothecary Helbrim looks like an obvious "IM A NERF TARGET!" kinda card, rogue is AS ALWAYS getting STACKED with Strong or unbalanced cards. I can already feel Zeddys rage, and rant coming already. And he already did one because of Scabbs Cutterbutter, and the fact that rogue has always been good throughout HS history. Even when day 1 DH rampaged, Rogue managed to kinda keep up. Honestly the more OP/super strong rogue cards i see printed, the more like i feel like Zeddy was right. Personally you could call me "a rogue player", but i prefer fun rogue decks like burgle rogue, and i'm SICK of seeing only "hehe me go FACE" kinda rogue decks getting love and support in the most broken of ways. Please blizz give other classes some love as well, stop focussing it on rogue.

  • Sitting this baby into Steeldancer Weaping rogue (the slower one).

It's no Scabbs Cutterbutter, but then again, not many can live up to that wonderful moniker.

    Scabbs.

    Cutterbutter.

  • Yeah, another card for a weapon/agro rogue.

  • I did not think the poison weapon would see play... Now... I am pretty sure it wilk

  • Xaril of poisons. poison cards are more valuable than toxin cards, therefore better. also will be played in poison weapon rogue for sure.

  • NO I wanted weapon rogue to slow down, not gain more traction. Personal bias aside, this is a good card, and the limited number of poisons in Standard would make this insane

  • I feel old remembering this box from the crossroads.

You could run this in any rogue deck, but I think it will want to go in a more midrange control style deck that may not exist yet in rogue. Have to watch and see what happens

  • This seems super good, 5/5 card, this may even  see play in Kingsbane decks.

  • Seems decent for weapon rogue.

  • Interesting effect, but might be too slow

  • Very useful in rogue decks, dangerous with [Hearthstone Card (Swinetusk Shank) Not Found] , cause who knows what more poison is out there

  • Xaril 2.0

  • need to see poisons in more details but value generation is always good and always finds its way to decks

  • Welcome back Xaril, Poisoned Mind. Looks like you got yourself a new job in the Weapon Rogue business. Xaril was pretty good, so this probably will be too.

  • Simple, decent, value card. Me like it.

  • Great support to the new weapon. Ooze always there to help

  • it seems a very good card

Xaril, Poisoned Mind mixed his poison hobbie with weapons.

Xaril saw play, and that card is better.

  • Xaril didn't see nearly as much play as people pretend in this thread. And trust me I know because I crafted golden Xaril day one.

For the most part he was too slow and unreliable, and never saw any play in Wild.

This is slightly better, but still way too slow for rogue.

Why not just draw your poisons with your insane card draw instead of generating them with a terrible body ?

  • Xaril, Poisoned Mind flashback. Not game breaking, but it could be handy at times.

  • Great card with a lot of value, I'm wondering what the last poison will be. It seems maybe a bit slow for an aggro rogue which is the archetype usually relying on poison, but I might be wrong or we even might see a slower weapon archetype for rogue.

  • Decent card for card generation value stats are ok tho

  • Not sure what to expect until we see all poison cards. A pity it's not odd...

  • Xaril, is that you? What happened my friend?!

Good card, it will be fun to experiment with it, doesn't seem to strong

  • 4 mana 3/2 is just not good enough. Xaril, Poisoned Mind was already fringe playable during a time with a lower power level, while it gave better cards. Poisons are only good for fast weapon rogues, which can't afford to play a 4 mana 3/2.

  • It's a little slow for what it does, but the value is undeniable.

Unfortunately, the current Weapon Rogue is losing almost nothing, and I don't see this bumping any existing cards out of their slots.

If SSS gets nerfed to oblivion (which it probably should), maybe we switch to the pig tooth or even Assassin's Blade (or both), in which case we'll probably need to pack more poisons. But I don't imagine that nerf will happen soon enough.

  • Well I mean...its hard to have much much of an opinion until we've seen more poisons. As far as I know we only have Paralyzing Poison and Deadly Poison.  I think we need more than that to make this worth while personally.

Nitroboost Poison and no we don't need any more

  • I really like this card. Interested to see a list of all the poisons in standard.

I admit I forgot about that card, though its worth noting that I seriously suspect nitroboost to be getting a nerf in the release patch.

  • If only this was in a class that had a lot of tricks up their sleeve to be able to manipulate deathrattles...

  • Hope Rogue isn't too Poisonous for the meta. :)

  • Three poisons to choose from so far, off the top of my head, all of which are pretty useful to Rogue (especially if the Weapon-based archetype persists after rotation). I can see Apothecary Helbrim being a pretty nifty little card: two for the price of one is never a bad thing.

I know people are comparing this to Xaril, Poisoned Mind, but this card and that one are functionally quite different.

Maybe I just miss Xaril... (cue tears)

  • Cool card. Even outside of a dedicated weapon deck this guy is just good. Poisons are mostly plus to damage on your weapon and rogues always have a weapon thanks to hero power.  He'll definitely see play in either weapon and agro decks.

  • Yeah this is going into every aggro Rogue.

    • Xaril 2, Poison Boogaloo. This seems pretty strong and will probably see play, but I still don't think the new Rogue weapon gets run over Self-Sharpening Sword.

  • So many wonderful reprints.

  • I guess the poisons are Deadly Poison, Nitroboost Poison, and the new Paralytic Poison, plus Leeching Poison in wild.

That's a very small pool of cards. For a comparison, Xaril, Poisoned Mind had 5 possible toxins. If they do not release other poisons, it will be too reliable.

  • Here is the poison enabler for that weapon. This will give you two plus whatever extras you choose to generate through bounce effects. I don't know if this make Rogue any better, but it could remain consistent with some of the archetypes we have now.

  • I think this will see a fair bit of play as the weapon/face rogue archetype has risen in popularity. Also, supports the SSS nicely.

  • Blizzard got me at nitroboost poison generator. There are so few poisons that it could fetch it pretty often, and even some of the other poisons aren't bad. The randomness probably means that the really aggressive decks don't want this, but there are plenty of midrange decks that can either offensively or defensively.

  • I think it will be a poison achievement where this card is a must be.

But I am very afraid if someone manage to get 4 Nitroboost Poisons thanks to this card.

  • Quality depends on quality of poisons.  Feels slow/weak at first glance, but if it enables the right kind of shenanigans, it could be better than I think.

  • Xarl didn't see a whole lot of play as far as I know, but people have talked about wanting to see it come back into standard. I don't think this will be very powerful, but it will be fun.

  • Pretty nice effect and provides support for the new rogue weapon.

  • very targeted generation is always good, when the selection of cards is good itself.

  • Very good in combination with Swinetusk Shank. I think his playability rests entirely with whether the Shank becomes part of the meta, otherwise he's probably not efficient enough.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

There are 4 in standard, 5 in wild. Seems really slow, but maybe Swinetusk Shank will let you be slower with nigh-infinite Durability and Immune while attacking from Paralytic Poison, a la Spectral Cutlass without being forced into burgle.

  • This will be in every deck that also uses the new weapon.

  • Nice

  • Rogue gets the legendary support. Leave the memes with hunter....

  • seems slow for rogue

  • I really dislike the archetype that this card supports. But unfortunately, it's quite strong. My only hope is that this card might be too slow for that deck.

  • Slow, but I think it's worth it. This guarantees your weapons will be decent, and you dig hard for poisons anyway. This is a card for consistency.

  • More ways to buff your weapon, what a convenient thing for rogues

  • I like how Rogue the flavor is in essence :
" The best way to maintain your health is to poison everyone else. "

  • Nice value card for rogue with weapon buffs - just seems a decent card overall.

  • I like it, its really good in some kind of weapon rogue

    • Xaril, but better

  • This looks kinda strong - at least in combination with the New Shank Weapon. Still ok without it.

  • im afraid of this card...

  • good

  • I am not sure about the poison package right now, but if this will take off then in large parts to this card

  • Cool

  • I can't imagine this being anything but great. Seems like the kind of card that will be in every Rogue deck until it rotates.

  • Poison rogue maybe. We will see, but IMHO just like other cards, many cards

  • This looks very strong, will work great in weapon Rogue decks

  • What will he say though? Xaril, Poisoned Mind already said "so many wonderful poisons". Will Apothecary Helbrim say "so many wonderful toxins"? Because that doesn't sound as good.

  • Good card, probably see as much play as xaril

  • Just like Xaril, Poisoned Mind proved to be slow for Rogue, Apothecary Helbrim is probably doomed to the same fate. There is not much of a reason to have random extra poisons when you just need a Deadly Poison and a Nitroboost Poison on a Self-Sharpening Sword to win the game.

  • such value

  • Bad and overhyped, imo.

  • may see play in some slower decks

  • Xaril is back in standard! yay!

  • Very strong with the new poison buffing weapon.

  • Seems good, even if you aren't dedicated to a Poison deck. The cards it can give you are all pretty good.

  • Poisons seem pretty strong with any rogue weapon that can be buffed for more that 2-3 charges.

  • Strong carol, poisoned mind vibes coming from this, but ultimately I think it's slightly weaker since it requires you to have a weapon.  Not that it's difficult to equip a weapon as rogue, but the additional requirement definitely slows it down a bit.

  • Reminds me of Xaril, Poisoned Mind. If weapon rogue doesn't go too fast, this will find a place as a third copy of the poisons.

  • Great for weapon rogue

  • Weapon rogue becoming better.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

So far all the poisons seem powerful. I feel like this card will be better than the other near duplicate one of him.
