  • Good enough in a elemental deck, but there are (as of now) 4 Elementals in the set, so it's a small flame that will be snuffed by the razormaw.

  • Core card for any elemental decks. Being able to play ahead of curve is always good.

Maybe Elemental MAge does become a thing

  • I like it. There are enough good elementals that it could see play.

  • Seems pretty strong, solid-enough stats and good effect. I also smell a lot of combo potential here...

  • I always like elemental decks. Very good tempo advantage

  • maybe good in an elemental deck. But not good enough in my view

  • This is clearly just to support new cards like Arid Stormer, which it will do very nicely. Not nearly as good as Fire Plume Harbinger, but it's neutral, so much more useable.

  • Solid 1-drop, provided there is a good elemental deck available.  Right now, not enough elementals that I'm aware of to make that a thing, but I won't complain if more show up!

  • Super good effect, i like it. Will certainly see play in Elemental Shaman and Elemental Mage.

  • Elementals were always clunky, so not sure about this

  • Good synergy effecy for elementals

  • Solid 1-drop

  • Solid card

  • pretty solid chain starter/tempo option in elemental decks.

  • Basically a 0 mana 1/2, so pretty good all things considered

  • Not bad but not amusing, nice start but at later turns unless you are aiming for a Grand Finale it does not do much.

  • Cheap and simple, but I can only see it having fringe play.

  • BEcause this effect can carry over turns, this is amazing

  • elemental decks getting some important pieces here.

  • very strong, because you do not need to play the elemental in the same turn

  • Its fine if elementals are a thing. Even then it isn't insane though. Just a go to 1 drop to ensure your curve works out. It might high roll now and then though.

  • Great, cute, cool card.

  • good card

  • Decent enough to see play in an elemental deck

  • A must-run for any elemental decks.

  • elemental tag makes this excellent

  • cool elemental support

  • i dont think elemantels will dominate the meta at least not this exp

  • Yeah, but no. I'm at overwhelmed now.

  • Meh

  • Amazing support for elemental shaman!

  • It's cute, but we'd need more elemental support for this to see play. I highly doubt either elemental mage or shaman will be any good.

  • The mana reduction from the studies has never felt insignificant, though I am not sure if the 1/2 elemental is better than discovering a card. If you drop it on turn one it lets you play a 3-drop on turn 2 which is very good for tempo, if nothing else it should help you trigger your "if you played an elemental last turn" stuff since it gives you more flexibility in how you can spend your mana.

  • unfortunately you cant play 2 and stack the effect. Fire Plume Harbinger was much better imo but didnt see play that much.

  • Its freeeee

  • Nice

  • Excellent in Elemental decks, I believe Shaman/Mage can pull it off

  • I love that this is neutral so that any class could make a cool elemental deck

  • Good combo piece

  • Any 2-elementals with draw are in luck

  • Decent one-drop that enables Elemental decks. Not too much to say about it besides that.

  • Good for elemental decks. Too bad these decks are not good.

  • Elemental decks are comming back .Slow but steady.

  • Targeted mana discount is good, we've seen with study spells. Easy include in elemental decks.

  • Really good early game Elemental card.

  • Good curve play for Elemental decks, an all-star for those kinds of strategies. I like Elemental decks, and I definitely want to play with this card to see what it brings to the archetype.

  • Wild Elemental Shaman is going to be a thing, mark my word!!! Mark them!

Did you mark them? Good, not that I really believe them, but it couuuuuld be a thing.

  • I feel Kindling Elemental can feel a similar role to Fire Fly in a elemental deck as a elemental train starter. And while the latter has some advantagesin filling your curve and giving you an extra elemental train starter, Kindling Elemental is more of a mana cheater, but he's useless in non elemental decks, unfortunately.

  • I love Elementals, and I really REALLY love this lil guy!

Even works great in Priest on turn 1 to get your golden shower out early!

  • great elemental synergy and doesnt need to be played on the same turn, very good

  • Seems like an obvious inclusion for Elemental decks.

  • Elemental Mage needs a better win condition than summoning a board of 8/8s that either come out too late or the opponent can save their removals as we have been playing non-threatening and ineffectual minions the whole time. Inb4 your boi, the man himself Modresh Fire Eye carries Mage into a new age of prosperity and non-cancerous burn strategies,

  • I think this card is intended for elemental Shaman.

  • Staple for any elemental deck, but I don't think there are enough to make one work right now. Maybe mage but definitely not shaman

  • It's okay, hopefully Elementals pop off enough to be worth the effort.

  • tbh i won't be surprised if this gets nerfed to say "this turn" later

    • Quote From Sirgeekalot

elemental decks getting some important pieces here.

Seems indeed like a staple 1 drop, corner stone of the next tempo play

  • ehhh nah i don't think there's enough cheap elementals to make this aggro elemental to work

  • Amazing turn 1 play into the new 3 mana Arid Elemental card for Shaman

Mana cheat  on a really cheap minion looks really good.

I will try an elemental shaman next set for sure! :D

  • Very nice one

    • Probably will see play in elemental decks

  • Very good and this even curves into the new elemental that gets windfury and Rush if you played an Elemental before.

  • Meh card, probably not even good enough for discover.

  • elementals are back baby!

  • Could take a spot in Elemental Shaman. Good thing the effect isn't limited to "this turn".

  • Free elemental + elemental synergy. Noice.

  • It you're playing an elemental deck, expect to see this card. But outside of that its not really that great.

Its ultimate payoff at the moment is either Lilypad Lurker, Fire Elemental, or Fantastic Firebird. All three are good 1 turn earlier, and this starts your elemental train so there's that too.

  • This is a better fire fly which was already amazing can enable some crazy turns.

  • Incredibly powerful opening for Tempo Elemental Shaman in a meta where Arid Stormer and Gyreworm both exist. Might even be kind of neat for a Tempo Priest with cheaper Lightspawn.

  • good

  • That's mental, an elemental that helps you curve your elementals always is a good elemental.

  • The only neutral 1 drop of the expansion. A bit weird we usually receive a lot of 1 drop and here only one. Thats a good one, easy elemental interaction activator. Good effect, really good if played turn 1 followed by turn 3 reduced at 2 mana.

  • An awesome 1 drop for elemental synergie, especially because the reduction doesn't last 1 turn

  • Super strong since the effect don't require to play the element in that turn. So this turn 1 can enable on turn 2 to play some 3 mana element like Arid Stormer. If we will see more elemental in next expansion, this will be soo good

Excellent for Elemental decks, there are more than a few cheap Elementals which would be much better when played earlier on curve.

  • Cool

  • Fire Plume Harbinger vibes, a bit worse but this is neutral so it´s flexible. I like it.

  • Really good 1 drop, specially combined with the 3/5 Elemental that gains Rush and Windfury

  • A real nice include in any elemental deck, and Shaman looks like it's heading that way.

  • This is a pretty good lots of elemental support this expansion.

    • Seems really strong in any Elemental list, curves right into Gyreworm.

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

Auto include for all elemental decks. Great value.

  • Good effect, must have in each elemental deck, specially in Elemental Shaman

  • Good! This time elemental mana cheat is neutral, i like it!

  • Good tool = good card.

  • Excellent card, especially since the discount carries over to the next turn.

  • Core card in any elemental based deck.

You are essentially banking 1 mana for a future turn while developing a 1/2 minion for free. Very good for what it aims to do.

  • Must-include in Elemental decks, though it's been a while since we've seen a tribal deck thrive in the meta. I don't think elemental decks are gonna be good all of a sudden, so I'll be surprised if this sees play. Maybe for Grand Finale Mage?

  • Solid, but not meta defining.

  • good effect, but we need more elementals

  • Useful for tempo elemental decks

  • good card

  • Shaman/ Mage only

  • Nice early game play but I think it falls off in later turns. Unless you just need to go wide it doesn't enable too much more in the higher mana turns.

  • Nice one drop with any deck that runs elementals. May even be ok to just reduce one or two specific cards.

  • essential card for mage/shaman elemental decks

  • Shaman likes this.

  • Really solid card and you only need a few elementals in your deck to make this valuable.

  • Sneaky good card.

Neutral mana cheating almost always finds a home in a competitive deck.

  • Good stats for the cost, and a good effect.  If you're playing an elemental deck, I'd say this is an auto include.  Not quite on the level of Fire Fly, but definitely not a bad card.

  • Great support for elementals. And that's it, I've posted my dumb, barely informed thoughts on all 135 cards. Now I just have 5 hours to rate them all.

  • Good 1 drop for elemental decks.

  • Carries across turns, so if there's an Elemental deck this card is definitely in it. Don't know that that deck will be a thing, but this is insane for it.

  • Decent effect, and I love the art.

  • Good support for any elemental deck .

  • Really strong 1 drop. Great for pushing early elementals or combo pieces later.

  • The existing of Arid Stormer makes this a promising start to a promising elemental windfury package in Shaman. I think that all the mana breakpoints will work out for the elemental chain in that archetype, especially with the two-drop elementals and Fantastic Firebird.
