For some classess this will never go on
-=alfi=-
We did this already during Witchwood. It was shit because playing 3 cards per turn happens less often than people think. The only reason why Rat Trap worked was because a 6/6 is pretty huge
The payoff isn't nearly as impressive here. The only deck that would get annoyed by this wouuld be aggro Rogue (which is probably getting nerfed to shit anyways)
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
IDK if secret paladin even has enough secrets, in standard there's only gonna be 5 of them in total
4 Mana 7/7
I'm loving this solely for the flavor text
I like it, but we'll need to see. People tend to forget how much different the meta has developed from witchwood, with mage, rogue, druid, DH, all play more than 3 cards in a turn very often between their insane draws
perfect for secret pala, because it will most likely stay on board for some turns. And even if it gets procked you get a 3/4 with taunt for 1
My favourite secret so far, but just not great over all.
Lil' Sebastion is 10/10
I don't really think I buy it, too unreliable to have trigger.
Rat Trap that can really mess with your opponent if they play cards before attacking. But even then, it still relies on your opponent playing 3 cards which LOOKS like a downside. BUT most of the time your opponent will try to play around it, and not play that 1 card they wanted. Also these days playing 3 cards in a turn is very common. look at all the "created by" stuff, and DH drawing/playing a ton of stuff each turn. Galloping Savior will 100% see play!
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
If you have enough cards that want you to have a secret in play, this could be good since it is hard to trigger. If nothing else I think this will see play just because rogues are a thing and they tend to play roughly 50+ cards a turn.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Meh card
it's alright, not very easy to trigger, but that allows you to synergize with other secret-dependent minions.
Not very easy to trigger, but i'm happy to see another secret in the paladin pool.
At this point I have spent too much money on these games to quit.
Now pass me another pack, and lets see what I pull.
another bad paladin secret
rat trap was barely good and it had +3/+2 more stats than this. also, a 3/4 wont be that impactful
good card
Kenny's little poet. 😇
the old secret was summoning a 6/6
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
OK secret, not sure if it will see a lot of play though
It's all right. It might see play due to that Secret Paladin has a lot of support now.
OBLIVION!
thats good 4-4 would have been i think since hunter one was 6-6
Easy to trigger.minimal downside
Rogue DH
Meh
Paladins get cards that care about controlling secrets.
New secret is hard to trigger early game allowing you secret synergy without fear of it triggering.
People complain that the secret is too hard to trigger ignoring the other cards that care about secrets.
A Whirlkick Rogue, any Priest, most Mage decks and Libram Pally play like 10 cards each turn. It's very easy to proc.
Great secret to play against agro!
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
I don't think this is great, but for the secret cards that care about having a secret in play (e.g. Northwatch Commander, Sunreaver Spy), it's sticky enough that those triggers will be more consistent.
Hey, Loser! - It wasn't me!
Sometimes you want a secret that will stick around as an activator for cards like Northwatch Commander.
If there are a lot of secrets being played, testing them might actually increase the odds this will trigger.
unsure on this one
Easy to play around
Summon steed! I really like the story that they're telling here.
Kinda useless for later turns.
Very bad secret, all the other Paladin Secrets in Standard are better.
Yeah, in most cases I don't think this will trigger and even if it does if it's late in the game a 3/4 may not be important.
No, three cards is too much in many matchups
English is not my native language, so please excuse occasional mistakes
I love this secret.Vs rogues this will pop always .Very nice vs aggro to stop them a little.
Slim chances to proc, never gonna happen.
Very easy to play around most of the time. Just maybe this makes the cut in Secret Paladin, but don't keep your hopes up.
Arena > Wild > Standard
Sometimes this never procs, which can be good: I'm thinking of the cannon boys. Sometimes this does: and Valeera is sad.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
I really like the design of the Secret, but Hidden Wisdom was not very good and presented similar value. It's worse than Rat Trap as well.
Bad secret, but might actually be what you want in a secret deck, a secret that sticks so you can play you payoff cards earlier. Kinda like Ice Block. But this really is bad though.
It's an OK Secret. Best thing it has going for it is that it's hard to trigger, which makes cards that care about having Secrets that much better. Otherwise, it's probably not the best Secret to have in your deck.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
2 mana less, same effect, -3/-2 in stats with taunt.
Rat Trap, is that you in disguise?
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
Its not bad because;
- Its a secret that is not easily triggered and hence support cards like Cannonmaster Smythe and Sunreaver Spy on curve
- Against certain decks its basically a 1 mana 3/4 that will come out after your opponent has exhausted their mana.
Rat Trap worked the same way and is backbreaking everytime it comes out. And a 3/4 in a class that can buff shouldn't be underestimated.
It's good because secrets are good, and paladin will have strong secret synergy this expansion. On its own, it's just ok.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
a little clunky for a good spell
Honestly the weakest secret available, but it will help with any of the activators needed
Can't say I'm impressed. A fine thing to add to your hand/deck, but not put in it.
I'm torn. A 1 mana 3/4 is very good. Wish it was a bit easier to get out. It sticking around though means you can trigger your "if you have a secret" cards easier.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
New secrets, for the sake of diversity and surprises, I was expecting no less.
This one is interesting, as it forces your opponent to play-test different stuff before reaching the correct conclusion.
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Obviously, this secret is against aggro decks, I'll definitely try it out with the new secret Paladin.
Bad card.
Like rat trap, but I doubt it'll trigger for most classes. Paladin has better secrets
This is almost a reprint of a card that wasn't very successful. But we will see.
Don't think this will go off too often, but tough to judge this early. If the meta starts becoming fast, this could probably be an insane card for Paladin to steal a couple wins.
very good card against rogues
Well it's a secret that won't proc right away, which would work with the other secret synergies in the deck. This secret will be quite annoying for rogues and DHs but most other classes won't be playing 3 cards in a single turn, unless they planning to burn you down for lethal.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
This.
Of course having strong Secrets with reliable impact is nice and all, but if they all keep triggering then your Northwatch Commander and Cannonmaster Smythe lose their value.
WIll work out against some classes
I'm not online it's just your imagination
Extremely good card
As a secret on it`s own its not that good but with the Guy that turns secrets into 3/3 minion that once they are killed are turned back into the secret this could pay off more often then we think.
First you get a 3/3 and later on when the chance is higher your opponent could play 3 cards this could proc.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
tanut make this cardamazing
Bad secret, at least not for early turns.
Could be good against a Rogue, but if rogue plays more than 3 cards a turn, you´re probably screwed anyway. Maybe anti-aggro tool against token board swarming? Idk
♡ u 4ever 2008 - 2022
This is pretty good, will see play if secret Paladin becomes a thing.
Good again aggro, combo, casino mage, miracle rogue etc. I though it was bad at first sigh but it may be good at the end
Murlocs <3
A 3/4 taunt for 1 mana! Hunter secrets are just so bad!
Well this effect can be good as seen with Rat Trap so just needs secret paladin to work
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And even though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
Very unlikely to trigger so a great secret for Cannonmaster Smythe but in other cases it won't do anything.
3/4 taunt for 1 mana it's ok, specially with secret sinergies of that set.
By The Holy Light!
Rat Trap was good, and this is probably also very good in the right match-ups
good
Decent secret that destroys aggro rogue.
Will work good against aggro early on but like Rat Trap I dont see this getting much play
A secret that won't be triggered that much
This secret will have some problem to trigger since play 3 card in a turn is not so frequent. The reward is not impressive...so this secret is good only if you want a stick secret to activate other card
It was also for hunter so it cost one more mana.
Will probably see play as a one-of.
Ribbit
Rat Trap was played because of stats, this can work too
Rat Trap for paladin. Seems alright for secret decks.
Kinda reminds me of Rigged Faire Game. Either it triggers, which is good, or it doesn't, which powers up your other cards.
A Witchwoody Secret for Paladin. Being able to identify this will be easy, meaning most times it won't be triggered unless it can be dealt with.
Strong Paladin secret. Not the best, but sure to see some play
Nice Paladin secret! Better than other pala secrets, so we should see it after expansion
I guess this is an ok secret that might have a chance to stick around before activating. I don't know, it feels underwhelming, but it could be a thing.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Rat Trap was alright, I imagine this smaller defensive version should also be decent.
Secret paladin will run Galloping Savior as a one off for extra targets for Sword of the Fallen. And Galloping Savior will be the first secret cut off after new secrets are printed.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
Not good enough to force another vaiable secret pally, especially with the 3 mana copy your opponents secrets
Imo this won't hold up to the meta
I imagine Secret Paladin will run one copy of this for the sake of having five different secrets, and since that's what's been the case historically with Rat Trap and Hidden Wisdom. There is a lot of hidden value in having a secret that isn't easily triggered to activate your secret synergies like Sunreaver Spy and Northwatch Commander.
For glory, honor, and gold!
its alright
Looks like a weaker version of Rat Trap.
The trigger seems too niche and the payoff isn't as good.
Rat Trap reincarnated, but this just feels weaker. At least the minion summoned from Rat Trap was a massive 6/6. I don't care much for a 3/4 with taunt, which is just bad in the mid to late game.
I don't think this is that good.
good card
May take forever to trigger, if it does even unless against rogue
A cool secret. I think it will be solid. Rat trap went off regularly.
Meh... The value is there. This is a decent anti-aggro card, but as others have already pointed out, there are going to be a fair number of games where this never gets activated, and in games like that it will hurt even more to lose tempo playing a card like this.
If Rat Trap wasn't playable, I don't think this will be. Happy to be proven wrong though
It's an ok secret. And will help slow down cases where aggro decks are playing a bunch of little minions. If Paladin gets any cards that activate when you have a secret waiting to proc, this will become better...
I guess we'll just forget Paladin already has Hidden Wisdom and Mage has no Secret with this trigger?
Since there's a good number of cards that want you to control a Secret, this is likely better than it seems. These cards are naturally better with 1-cost Secrets than 2-cost ones, so if anything I'd say it could end up even better than Rat Trap.
A secret that might never trigger, thus helping that 5 mana legendary.
I like it.
can be irritating for some classes to deal with
Poor man's rat trap.
This type of Secret doesn't worked in the past for paladin
For The HORDE!
Rat Trap being a 6/6 is way, way better than a 3/4 Taunt. Unless Paladin wants to throw every Secret they can in a deck, I don't see this working out.
Welcome to the site!
1 mana 3/4 with taunt is pretty good, even if it's conditional.
