Rewards Track: Current progress 3.0

Hey there dear Oocians! Let me welcome you the third Rewards Track Thread! I was waiting for someone else to make this thread, but after a week into the new expansion I´ve decided to make another one myself. Maybe some of you are tired of it already or simply don´t care, but for those of us, who want to track their progress, and see how is everyone else doing, this is the right place! I wish you´ll enjoy the new climb and hope you´ll end up higher than in the previous one!

OK, I´ll start then:

I´ve hoarded the 3 Weekly and Daily quests and bought the TP once again, so I´ve jumped to lvl 24 the first day I believe.. After a week in I´m at lvl 45, which feels good so far, but I know the climb will become way too slower. I´ve started to do the new XP achievements aswell, currently I´m at 30% done.

So, how are you all doing? Feel free to share your journey with us, your thoughts, feelings - happy or sad, just keep it friendly as usual, please. Have fun! :)

  • I am at level 49 now in the track (bought the Tavern pass for the cosmetics and the XP boost). I have been farming the XP achievements (to the detriment of rank, but I'm at the Diamond 5 floor in both standard and wild, so I don't mind at all). Some of them are a real grind. Currently I am halfway through the "damage your opponent" one (the Tamsin questline), but people tend to concede when she gets dropped if things look bad on board. Overall, I am enjoying Stormwind and the new decks I have been able to play with what I unpacked.

  • I'm at level 48. I don't have the tavern pass, but I did the same approach of storing up some quests for launch, I've been grinding achievements in Wild with pretty mindless decks while I do other things (I think I'm at 49% completion). I'm honestly a bit surprised that so many of the achievements are so doable without tons of new cards, though at some point I will run out of non-legendary quests, and that will be tough. A lot of them are a serious grind, but even just a pretty basic Handlock in wild was able to get quite a few done.

  • @Alleria, I expected this RT:CP thread would be created by either you or me if noone else would. So, this means you arrived in Stormwind before I did 😄

    I am at level 57 with Tavern Pass. I only had 1 weekly quest saved up this time and I had no Challenge a friend quests active from my F2P accounts unfortunately.

    I got early Legend a few days ago by farming Questline Warlock in Wild. I have been doing the new XP achievements ever since which are now 66% done. I want to complete them as soon as possible before the nerfs arrive next week which would probably increase the difficulty a bit I think.

      @h0lysatan sorry to hear that. One way or another, I hope you´ll find something you enjoy, be it HS or something else :)

      For me, doing achievements is what´s keeping me interested. Doing it in casual Duels is quick and fun for me, I can even discover epics/legendaries I don´t own (looking at you Ignite and Grand Magus Antonidas :P)

       

  • First early post. Reaching Lv. 15. Yeah no biggie. Not playing Hearthstone for about a week. I even doubt I'm gonna do all those achievements again. Hate to say it has gotten to the point where I have no mood to grind any losing deck just to finish them.

    And I doubt I reach Diamond 5 at this month. Maybe at some point I can cut ties with all this Hearthstone addiction forever.

    But if you still have the love to play the game, go ahead and play. Nothing including me should ever stop you from getting fun.

    Maybe we'll see again at some point, or maybe not.

  • Currently at level 38. My quest to complete the rewards track has begun! 

    I've been playing a lot of Quest Warrior in both Standard and Wild. The Wild deck is an Odd list I got from Roffle, and it's been so-so but a lot of fun. You basically complete the quest, play Brann Bronzebeard + Cap'n Rokara to get two The Juggernauts causing havoc in the late game. 

    I've been fooling around with Aggro Shadow Priest too, but it's pretty boring to play. I might tinker around with Quest Druid since I recently unpacked that questline, and I'm gonna try out Odd Questline Hunter as well.

  • Well so far im Level 44 (with Tavern Pass) - most of the time messing around with different builds. The most fun so far i had with Guff Druid - and also quite surprisingly (at least for me) with Questline Paladin.

     

     

  • Lvl 53, got all the legendaries on the first day, enjoying the meta avd the variety of new archetypes!

  • Lvl 50 with mostly arena. Had holiday which is over so the levels will slow down fast for me. Got the rogue meme legendary.

  • Hit 55 this morning (own Tavern Pass).  Had a full set of quests ready when expansion dropped.  29% done with Stormwind achievements.  Been messing around at Diamond 5 for a few days now with some meme-ish decks to get some achievements.  The Demon Hunter Lion's Frenzy was a fun one.  Rat King...not so much.

  • Level 41 without the Tavern Pass. I had the Pass last season, but I had no trouble getting enough packs anyway, so I decided to not get the Tavern Pass this season. I'm trying not to spend any money and see how far I'm getting. I play since Beta and I have dissed a zilllion wild cards, so I'm sitting on a comfortable 28k dust anyway.

  • I´ve hit lvl 50 yesterday and claimed my free legendary - Sorcerer's Gambit, which I´m pretty happy about. I´m at 45% XP achievements done atm. I was lucky to hit the pitty timer with my second pack from watching todays grandmasters - Raid the Docks, which is my third quest so far. I´m finally ready to start hoarding my precious gold for the next mini set, since I´m almost at zero :D

    What was your free legendary if you´ve already hit lvl 50? Thank you all for sharing your RT journey with us :)

  • Hit Level 45 without the tavern pass, feels nice. I'm currently sitting at 2,200 gold, and I'm getting frustrated with my progress there. I really wish they'd stop having those dumb golden rares and epics in the rewards track, especially since they can't be dusted. They're just a waste of space. 

    The achievements I've managed to complete are from Warrior (attack 500 times with pirates, and summon 50 minions from deck), Priest (deal X damage with your hero power), and trade 500 times. I'm close to completing the Warlock one where you redirect your damage to the enemy, but my Quest Handlock games don't even reach the point where I can play Blightborn Tamsin; either I kill them quickly with the Flesh Giants + Battleground Battlemaster, or they kill me first. I'll hit level 50 in the next few days, once the new weekly quests come in. 

    Oh, and I hope the devs massacre Mage in the nerfs next week. People really should direct their hate for Priest to Mage as well. That class has been degenerate and boring for a while now, with nothing but spell-only archetypes. I wonder why they even bothered printing new minions for that class this expansion. Just kill Incanter's Flow, Sorcerer's Gambit, and Ignite, then buff some other strategies for the class (I hope they do something for Hero Power Mage). I'm sick of getting hit by 18 damage from two Fireballs in one turn. 

  • I hit level 71 and reached my secondary objective of getting the 20% XP boost. Upcoming minor objectives are to collect the remaining milestone cosmetics: UiS coin + Hero portraits. I collected all cards of the new expansion in the meantime.

    My United in Stormwind XP achievements progression is currently at 95%. I only have 2 left to complete, which are:

    • Spam Caller (0 / 75)
    • Vengeance Doesn't Come Cheap (85 / 1000)

    I am already anxiously waiting for the upcoming nerfs which will hopefully improve and invigorate the meta again.

  • Today I´ve hit lvl 65 with 65% XP achievements done (all neutral, mage, paladin and warrior done, the rest left to go). Looking forward to hit lvl 70 on Monday with new Weeklies for the 20% XP bonus. The climb seems faster this time compared to last track - might be just my point of view.

    Where are you all at?

  • Got past lvl 50 the other day and got Sorcerer's Gambit as reward, too bad the deck just was nerfed.

    Very few achievements done so far since I haven't got much time to play and don't want to waste my star bonus on ladder, focusing on getting them done in Duels as far as possible. 

  • I'm halfway through level 74, still grinding achievements. Nearly done with the ones that don't require a dose of RNG or the couple that are dependent on cards I don't have (Priest quest, for example). 

  • I'm at level 53, and the level 50 legendary that I got was Auctioneer Jaxon. I knew it would be a crap one. I KNEW IT. Ugh.

    I'm mostly on achievement-completing mode right now. I recently completed the "Claws Out" one for Druid, playing an Odd Quest Druid in Wild that somehow had a decent win rate. 

    I'm also trying to complete the "Share Your Pain" achievement for Warlock wherein I have to redirect damage to myself to the enemy hero using Blightborn Tamsin, but unfortunately, my games don't even need Tamsin to win. I played 10 games with Quest Handlock, and I only managed to complete the questline ONCE. The Big Warrior that I faced conceded the second I got Tamsin. I won a lot of games so that's a nice consolation, but unfortunately this is a sad reflection of the current meta. With Mages out of the way, Warlocks are running roughshod.

  • I just reached level 79. My Stormwind achievements progression is at 98% and I only have the Spam Caller achievement (62/75) left to complete.

    Current Demon Hunter wins: 809 (+69).

    I am looking forward to collect another two T1 and T2 hero portraits in roughly two more weeks. I wonder which ones I should choose this time though?

    How is the meta treating you all after the recent nerfs?

  • Just reached Level 90 with the Tavern Pass after grinding most of the achievements. Likely pace will slow down due to getting busier with work and stuff in real life. Prefer to play Wild but sometimes a bit tired of facing the same decks (Questline/Giant/Soul Stealer Warlocks, Questline/Spell/Ignite OTK Mages, Questline/Odd Hunters) 

    RT legendaries were Lothar Card Image and Sorcerer's Gambit Card Image

    Anyone uses Lothar in their decks? So far I don't recall seeing any in the players I have encountered, whether in Wild or Standard.

  • So, here I am with Lv.20 still, I tried my best at summoning any incentives to play Hearthstone again to no avail. What makes it worse is that I don't want to follow the trend and play Aggro or combo (I still prefer Control deck to this point), to the point where winning 5 ranked felt impossible last week. Maybe I'll fail at it again this week.

    So yeah. I'm not gonna play any more Hearthstone until they change the game to favor all kind of deck. It's not much to ask is it not?

    • Ideally, the game should allow to have a balance between the trifecta of Aggro vs. Combo vs. Control indeed. However, the new questlines have made it impossible for Control players to have any fun at this moment which is not ok at all.

      As for the Win 5 games of ranked play mode weekly quest, I just played Questline Druid in Wild 5 times which really kicks the asses out of the other rampant Questline combo decks (solid 69% winrate) and be done with the ladder until the new weekly quests arrive again. Of course, this is still not a Control deck, but it does feel somewhat enjoyable to stomp the current meta decks very efficiently for the 3000 XP (with 20% XP boost). Perhaps you could try to do the same as I did.

  • I found myself not really enjoying this meta either, to the point that I only play Duels for the XP achievements and never touch Ranked apart from the ranked quest. This last week I left the quest for the last hour of the Sunday, hoping it would be enough for me to complete it. I know, my bad. Got completely stomped. Won my last 5th game one minute after midnight, because, you know roping is fun I guess. My quest got finished, but didn´t get a new one. Sigh. Bye 3000 XP :/ Well, never mind, I still got a bunch of time to climb..

    On the other hand, I´ve finally hit lvl 70 for that sweet 20% XP bonus, which is nice. I have 70% XP achievements done, doing the hardest/most time consuming ones now, trying to play as much as I can to make up for the 3000 XP I´ve lost. Too bad neither me or my active friends didn´t get the friend quest for months now, it would help a lot :D

  • I reached level 87 and I have finished all of the Stormwind achievements in the meantime. I think most of us here agree that the current meta is not really enjoyable. This has to be the earliest into a new expansion that I have felt this way. I already cannot wait for the upcoming mini-set to arrive and stir up the meta again in a positive way.

    I must say that I am not too hopeful if the new Questlines are left untouched by Team 5. Surely, we do not have to wait for them to rotate out to Wild before any Control deck is able to return again in Standard? The Stormwind Questlines have also completely warped the Wild meta and there we do not even have the option of a rotate out solution (sigh). 

    Current Demon Hunter wins: 847 (+38).

    Since I am rapidly closing in on the 1K Demonic Illidan hero portrait, this will be my one and only focus until I achieve it.

  • I've hit level 60, with the only achievement I've accomplished being the one with Spice Bread Baker. I was hit with work for the past three days so I was unable to play, which hindered my progress a bit. I managed to climb three levels today though. 

    I'll try to complete the Tamsin achievement tomorrow. I just can't finish it with Handlock since games never get to the point where I need to complete the quest. I'll bite the bullet and play D6 Warlock, that way I can finally cross that achievement off my list (together with the Runed Mithril Rod one).  

    By next week, my goal is to reach level 70. I'm lagging in my progress again. 

  • So, after another week, I´ve jumped to lvl 80 and claimed that cool Summoner Tamsin portrait. Looks I´m back on earning 10 lvls a week, just like the previous climbs. My XP achievement count is on 80% too, grinding the Vengeance and Share your pain right now, both of them are indeed pain to complete :D My gold count is 60 shy of 2000g, so I´m ready for the Mini set, the rest from now on will be saved for the next expansion (or some rare cardbacks/heroes, if they ever become available).

    So far it feels good for me, next week I should claim the coin. How are you all doing so far? Thanks for sharing your progress, it´s cool to see where is everyone at :)

  • Mostly played with a friend this expansion as I did not like the meta (we are making some really fun matches with decks like "Chef Rogue" and "Sleepy Folks Druid" so I did not advance that much this time.

    Though I am almost level 70 right now. Well almost 69, but my "win 5 ranked games" weekly is almost finished.

     

    Edit: Level 70 reached. That last XP boost is something I needed

  • I'm at Level 68. I rolled some really bad daily quests this week, such as extremely specific ones like playing 10 murlocs or low-XP ones like playing 20 spells. As a result, climbing has been a grind. 

    I've been playing a lot of Elemental Shaman and Secret Paladin the past few days, and both decks are working really well after the latest nerfs (not that they did anything drastic, since Handlock is still a monster). I unpacked Find the Imposter as well so I've been playing some Rogue, and it was pretty good in lower ranks until I ran into a lot of Warlocks the higher I climbed. 

    I managed to complete a number of achievements this week:

    - Simply Enchanting (the one with Runed Mithril Orb)
    - The Return of the King (give Varian rush, divine shield and rush)
    - Expecting an Exploding Pen? (play all spy gizmos in one game)
    - What is your Profession? (play 60 0-attack weapons)

    I failed to complete the Tamsin one before the nerfs, and now D6 Warlock is dead. Even with all those completions, I'm still only at 30% completion with the Stormwind quests. I seriously don't get how some people here have already hit 80+% of the achievements. Do you guys play all day or something? I'd like to have the amount of time you guys have :P

    • @Tetsuo; I do not play HS all day 😉

      However, I did run several optimized decks which efficiently add progress to the completion of multiple achievements simultaneously but do not necessarily have great success for climbing the Wild ranked ladder.

      I never care much about that latter aspect though, since I mostly do achievement hunting on rank floors and afterwards there usually is sufficient time to still reach Legend with some high tier meta decks.

  • Hit level 80 while grinding with a multi-achievment Paladin deck which is surprisingly good in ladder. It grinds the following achievments:

    • They Carry My Potions - Trigger Encumbered Pack Mule's copy effect 75 times.
    • What Is Your Profession?! - Play 60 weapons with 0 Attack.
    • Let's Ride! - Cast 40 Mount spells.
    • Guild Vault - Store 50 cards with Enthusiastic Banker. (done with this deck)
    • Snakes on a Blade Destroy - 10 weapons with Rustrot Viper.
    • Inside Sources - Play 25 spells you Discovered from Entrapped Sorceress.
    • Dark Side of Light - Lifesteal 300 Health using Paladin cards.
    • Friends Like Me - Summon 4 of the same Adventurer with Party Up!
    • Life is a Highway - Start 100 turns with a Caravan
    • Signature Moves - Cast 100 Rank 3 spells
    • Has Anyone Seen Mankrik's Wife? - Destroy your opponent with Mankrik, Consumed by Hatred
    • Hog Wild - Summon 50 Hogs with Hog Rancher

  • I am at level 106. In the meantime, I also got 1000 wins with Demon Hunter which was my last hero to reach 1K wins.

    Besides doing daily/weekly quests, I guess there is nothing else for me to do except to wait for the mini-set to release.

    The new Mercenaries game mode does not look like my cup of tea and seems expensive from a collectors point of view.

  • Hey all, so another week has gone and I´ve hit my goal of lvl 90 and got the coin, for which I´m super excited because it´s the only one I really like. For my achievements count, I´m 1% shy of 90% done, but this time I´m afraid I won´t be able to finish them all, because I´m missing a bunch of required cards. I´ve been able to discover Composting and Garrote, even Bolner Hammerbeak in Duels from time to time, but it´s a really pain, since I´m only 12/100, 106/400 and 5/100 in those achievements :/ Others are impossible for me as I don´t own Priest quest, Rogue quest and Maestra of the Masquerade.

    @Tetsuo: Me having almost 90% achievements done is due fact I don´t play Ranked apart from the win 5 quest, but instead focus on making achievements only decks in Duels, which I play maybe 2 hours a day. That way it´s quite easy to finish most of them, thanks to quick games and thin decks at the beginning of the run, so you don´t need to wait long to draw/play required cards.

  • I have in mind that, in the past, casual games contributed to achievement. Now it doesn't seem anymore the case. Am I wrong?

      As far I as know, casual games never contributed to achievements

    • Only casual Duels games count towards achievement progression. Casual (traditional Hearthstone) ladder however does not unfortunately. Tavern Brawl which is IMO also casual, does not contribute as well. Inconsistencies galore, really weird.

        Oh, so casual Duels games count towards achievements? I thought they only count on Heroic Duels, similar to how they only count on ranked play. This is great then, now I can screw around more in Casual Duels knowing I'll actually be getting something out of it. 

        And I just saw your suggestion about completing the Bolner achievement quickly. So they haven't patched that bug yet? I'll definitely try that out. 

        • @Tetsuo: I did not test if the exploit was fixed in the meantime since I completed the achievement already weeks ago. I think there was no mention of it in the patch notes. So, please report back to us all whether it still works after your try 😅

            I tried this out...and I can confirm that it still works! Tried it out in Casual Duels. Do this now if you still haven't, they might fix this in the next patch. Thanks a lot for pointing this out, this saved me some serious grind!

            I'm at level 76. Not much progress again because I didn't play for two days this week. Not too much success in the achievement front either, but I finally completed those that I've been grinding for a while:

            The Brave and the Bolner - achieved it in a casual duels deck

            Share Your Pain - I finally completed this using one of MarkMcKz's meme decks; a super mill Warlock where you discard multiple Hand of Gul'dans using Expired Merchant, Baron Rivendare, and Spiritsinger Umbra to deal obscene amounts of fatigue damage. What's lame is that it doesn't show your opponent's health in negative figures once you pull off the combo, but I'm guessing you can deal up to 120+ fatigue damage. It's fun to pull off!

            It's so Fluffy! - I played a lot of Questline Rogue, so I managed to finish this old achievement

            WTS (2nd tier) - I haven't been playing a lot of decks with tradeable cards in them so the tradeable achievements are still a ways to go, but that's gonna change now that I know casual duels count towards achievements. I'll play in that mode more from now on. 

            My target for next week is level 83. 

  • Level 80 and a better Tamsin portrait than the previous one, a few XP:s from her own adventure got me over the line. Looking forward to upgrade it further at lvl 100!

  • I hit level 100 yesterday. Took the Uther skin for the completed track.

  • Just hit lvl 90 with this weeks weekly completed. Havent been that motivated for HS this xpac. think i was  around lvl 100 last season after 40 days

  • I hit level 130 with Tavern Pass today. Not sure if this was sooner or later compared to the previous Rewards Track.

    Overall feeling is that I am less motivated since the launch of the United in Stormwind expansion. If the upcoming mini-set and new nerfs/buffs do not stir up the meta quite a bit, I doubt I will even reach my desired level 300 at the very end.

    How are you doing up till now?

  • Few days ago I´ve hit lvl 100 with TP and got Scabbs, Guff and Tamsin portraits along with my third RT hero portrait - Felheart Gul'dan. These days I´ve happened to hit 600 total RT lvls too and claimed Deathmantle Valeera, which is neat. I guess I´m out of free portraits in the near future :P

    For my XP achievement count, I´m stuck at 90% done. I did all I could with my cards available, now it´s just pray to get missing cards from Duels bucket or discover and not to die before I manage to play them. It´s not fun, so no progress at all this week. Thinking about switching back to Ranked till I´ll get tired of it and go back to Duels again :P

  • I'm only at Level 86. Took me two weeks to reach my stated target of Level 83, but I've just been so busy with work lately. I played with a lot of Overload Shaman just before the questline was nerfed, piloting the Doomhammer variant to counter all the Warlocks and Mages. Whacking them in the face over and over again felt soooo good. 

    After the nerfs, I tried to play Even Handlock in Wild, and while the format definitely benefited from The Demon Seed ban, it's still extremely fast. I racked up a lot of losses with that Evenlock deck in Platinum ranks as I faced countless aggro decks that I just couldn't keep up with. It's a shame since the deck is pretty fun to playi f only it could be allowed to execute its game plan, but I'm almost always dead within turn 6 or 7. Again, screw Wild. 

    Now I'm stuck without a deck to play in Standard. I tried Hero Power Mage (Kibler's version) but it's a middling deck at best, and the only other deck I saw success with was Elemental Shaman which I've more or less grown bored with. Hunters seem to be the dominant archetype now, with the endless charge of Trampling Rhinos bashing me in the face. 

    Not really sure when I'll be able to hit Level 100 since XP is hard to come by. Hopefully I get there before the mini-set comes. 

     

  • Just yesterday I´ve hit lvl 120. Did a bit of grinding at Classic ladder, since I don´t have any doable XP achievements left to do in Duels (still stuck at 90% done). Hovering around 8 Plat, which is my highest yet in that mode, not bothering with other ladders atm. I´m around 5300 gold, so I´m more than ready for the mini set. I wonder how far will I get this RT, the grind is a bit easier after lvl 100, but still feels slow. Weird thing that I didn´t get the friend quest for like 5 months now, on my other account it´s like 2 months since my last one.. Anyone else has this feeling? Not tinfoil-hat-ing here, just curious. GL HF! ♡

  • Hit lvl 100 today, yet to decide wich portrait to choose. Final game was a fun one where opponent (questline DH with Il'gynoth) just missed lethal with the combo and ragequitted when I healed up and cleared his board with Xyrella.

    I still have to finish my weeklies so I'll get a few more levels this week.

  • I'm at 145 and did all the achievements weeks ago.  I'll finish with 270-275 without much effort.  I play at work while I get paid so I'm in a very small minority that can do that. I'm at work now posting this. Took all 3 modes to D5 and that's all I care to do. I hit legend multiple times and did it very early on in the game. Having every card makes it pretty easy. Monday clearing all the weekly quests takes about 35-45 minutes. It's pretty easy to do the math and figure out where you will end up,. 

    15,600 a week for the weekly quest and that includes rerolls for 1200xp assuming you have the pass. 

    starting today and assuming all quests reroll 1200  you play to 400xp extra eaxh day and the new set launches on dec7th.  you will get 184,600 xp at 1500xp a level is 123 lvls. That would put me at 268. Ill finish 270-275 maybe a bit higher and ill end up with 14000 gold. This is all done with minimal effort. I don't buy anything with gold until the new xpansion launches which ill get 140 free packs plus 130 from both. preorders plus 120 from 3 more 40 pack bundles I buy. I buy all my packs with Amazon coins at 20% off    breaks down to $295.62 for preorders and 3 bundles . and $236 after the coin discount  i open 400 packs after the free ones on release day quests and whatnot so I have the entire collection on day 1.  Take that and divide it buy 112 days per expansion and you get $2.10 cents a day i pay to play hearthstone. Some people think its a lot of money , I personally don't. That price is for whale level account. I have over 200k dust sitting around to make the best cards gold. 

    I did spend money and bought all standard and classic rank gold bundles they just released so I did drop a bit more this xpansion but thats how I roll. Anyone else at the $2 a day whale level here?

  • I hit level 156 today for Stormwind. I hit legend last month in Wild, but this month I've just been grinding/memeing at the D5 level in both standard and wild (which is my usual goal). I finished all the XP accomplishments for Stormwind weeks ago except for the Priest quest line one (because I don't have that card - one of 3 legendaries that I am missing from the new set). 

    I buy both pre-orders and the tavern pass each expansion (have done so for a couple years), but that's about it, so not quite at the $2 a day level! (See post above). 

    I am really looking forward to mercenaries' release. Looking forward to showing that mode to my kids and letting them take the reins with that one (PVE) a bit.

  • Level 115 after this weeks weekly quests completed. I still hate quests, especially mage quest.

    I used tyo buy both preorders and spend the gold on packs, but this may be a bit too much, I have full collection with duplicate legendaries. For next expansion I will most likely buy only the big preorder and then I will see what can I complete with that. I buy the miniset for real money.

  • I hit level 156, playing the bare minimum of completing daily/weekly quests since the latest patch. I also no longer care about reaching legend every odd season any more.

    According to my spreadsheet I am at $1.13 per day, which makes me a baby seal or even a shark? Not yet at whale level I guess?

    @Alleria, I also have not seen the challenge a friend quest for months now. Perhaps it is stealth limited to once per expansion nowadays or are we both simply unlucky?

  • Hit lvl 100 a few days ago - picked the Jaina Skin even tough right now i prefer my Lady Prestor Skin for most of my mage decks but i liked it. Right now im at lvl 108 grinding for a few achievements.

  • Hey fellow RT grinders! I´m reporting myself after 2 weeks, jumped from 120 to lvl 150. I´ve hit 6000 total wins along the way (4220 Ranked, 1700 Duels and 80 Arena lol) and leveled my last Hero (DH) to 60 lvl. My achievement count is stuck at 90% done and if I won´t open the last required cards, I won´t get any further.

    So how did your climb go? Happy with your results so far or does it feel too slow? Let us know. Thanks all! Happy grinding! :)

  • I have reached level 220 and much to my own surprise I have been playing a lot of PvE Mercenaries. It is actually my new main game mode for the time being. I will most probably switch back to traditional Hearthstone when the new mini-set comes out next week which hopefully will shake up the meta once again.

    • I am loving mercs. I am not getting nearly as much XP as I would in the other game modes (grinding PVE content yields very little), but I don't mind at all. I am missing just 5-6 legendary mercs (crafting them), and I am enjoying the little bits of mercs PVP that I've done + the PVE.

      Level 232, as of today. I have three daily quests and two weeklies still to do (that's a sign of how much mercs has dominated my HS time lately!).

  • I started playing again after nearly 3 weeks and I finally crossed the level 100 barrier. Seeing the amazing progress made by others here, I'm definitely feeling small with my snail-like progress! 

    I chose Felheart Gul'dan as my portrait, and it is a beauty. I'm at Level 103 after playing a lot of Questline Priest to get some Stormwind achievements done. Hopefully the mini-set shakes up this incredibly stale meta. 

  • Hey all, I´m back after three weeks (very, very hard weeks) and I found myself at lvl 220. With the new mini-set achievements my count is 75% done - just starting to do them now, hoping to be done till the new expansion.

    @NebuchadnezzarHS I just got my first Play a friend quest today in a half a year, still nothing on my second account. Still better than nothing I guess. How about you? Any luck yet?

  • Att 200 now! I've mostly given up on achievements, it's a lot of grind for a small reward and I don't have much time to play.

  • Same as allthehype, reached level 200 this weekend, have ~60% achievments but given up the rest because they are just a mindless unfun grind.

  • I am at level 278 now. My play time is mostly spent on completing Mercenaries which was quite unexpected. Since I have no aspiration of playing PvP at all, I am almost done with this F2P game mode. I have all the mercenaries (70% maxed out) and nearly all its achievements are finished.

    Which side did you choose? Me: FOR THE HORDE!!

    @Alleria: The play a friend quest has not been sighted yet over here. As a result, I have abandoned my F2P accounts since the launch of Stormwind.

  • I'm only at level 132, I'm playing strictly on weekends now. I have to say though, I'm enjoying the game again. I've been playing a lot of Quest Handlock and Quest Shaman, two decks that I'm winning a lot of games with recently. Their win conditions may be unfair (especially against any control deck), but damn if they aren't fun to play. They're not brainless decks unlike other oppressive decks; there's usually a bit of skill and thinking involved for each turn, and there are multiple ways to kill your opponent with. It's just a shame their payoffs are completely overtuned and bad for the game. 

    I tried my hand at Mercenaries as well...for one day. I spent a day going through the tutorial, and I have to admit I was getting into it. I enjoyed leveling up some of my mercs, completing bounties, opening packs for coins...and then the next day, I didn't feel compelled to play it again. Now, I don't think I'll touch the mode again. It's just tedious, grindy, boring. And I think it's crap that they just recycled hero portraits that are already being used in standard Hearthstone for the Mercs. Just incredibly lazy. The coin system is terrible too.

    As for the upcoming expansion, I chose to ally myself with the Alliance...but my heart is with the Horde. I just wanted to get Vanndar Stormpike because I'm gonna try some big decks. 

    Can't wait for the new expansion! I think I'll top out at level 150 for this battle pass. For Alterac Valley, I'm gonna craft Bru'kan of the Elements on day one and I'm gonna play a lot of Shaman. I'm 100 wins away from a golden portrait!

  • Does anyone know when they will switch the Rewards Track to Fractured in Alterac? Last time, they did it a week early, and I'm still pissed about it because I was close to earning a bunch of achievements and thought I had more time. A heads-up would be nice (but also, being able to work on achievements through the actual end of the expansion cycle).

  • I went f2p after the HK nonsense and I've been tracking my gold pretty well. The battle pass progression vs. 10g/3wins made me nervous, but the last couple expansions I had a comparable amount of gold.

    Last expansion, I had ~13k gold doing all dailies and weeklies and playing casually. I did not buy the minisets because I had enough dust to craft what I wanted.

    Looking at the next expansion, I have a smidge under 10k gold and i'm 15-20 levels higher than last expansion. Was there a gold nerf?

  • So with the new expansion coming soon we´re getting close to the end of the current Rewards Track. I´m sitting at lvl 265, expecting to finish at 270, leaving my three Daylies and Weeklies for the new one. This time around I´ll have 20 lvls more than two previous  tracks but much less gold (thanks to all the cardbacks and Heroes available for gold, along with Mercenaries upgrades. Sigh). I´ve the TP bought and I´m planning to buy another one too, if the price stays the same. My old achievement count stopped at 95% done, since I´m missing a few key cards. As few people suggested, they stopped giving XP a week before an new expansion, just like the last time, so I was lucky to be able to finish most of them in time.

    So, how are you are doing at the end of the track? Where are you now and where are you expecting to end? Will you keep your Dailies and Weeklies for the new one or do it asap to get few more levels now? Feels free to share whatever´s on your mind. Peace.

  • Just hit 155 and near to 0 progress on next level.  I always like to end a track this way so I'm not wasting XP.

    Haven't played much this expansion hence the low level.

    Quests slots should be full for next track launch.

  • Lvl 326 right now. Debating on whether I should save up tomorrow's weeklies to get a headstart with the expansion launch or get them done to make better use of the tavern pass XP boost.

    Either way, got more than 15k gold, so I should get enough stuff from packs to work with until I know what to actually craft. Gonna go for 150 packs at first and then see where that leaves me. Saving the rest or buying some older cardbacks.

  • I have ended on the current Rewards Track at level 320 and I will start the new RT with 5 quests active which enables a small jumpstart.

    I have seriously contemplated to drop HS as my goto game because I have not really enjoyed the meta with the various questlines. I will at least give it another chance with the new expansion, so hopefully the meta improves considerably.

    @Alleria: Since my last post I have actually received the Challenge a Friend quest TWICE, so I felt rejoiced!

    By the way, because of the huge influx of purchasable cosmetics recently, I have finally decided to address my collector's addiction and step away from my obsessive need to own ALL the portraits and cardbacks.

  • Ending my Stormwind reward track (free) on 169. Nice! Usually I would have pushed to 200 but didn't play as much this expansion. Not quite the games fault other games have been releasing stuff I've been sucked into.

    Deadmines did renew my playing however and the choose a side thing is great. Drek'thar is fun! Can't wait to get Vandar as well.

    I'll probably purchase the next pass as Alterac seems like my kind of expansion. Can't wait for the new cards. All the hero cards look fun to me so I won't be disappointed.

  • I'm gonna end this rewards track on Level 149, well below my target of 200. It's a bit my fault and the meta's; I just couldn't stand the inevitability of most of the decks introduced in Stormwind, like the Mage and Warlock questlines, and the disappearance of slow strategies. What made me hate it more was the fact that I was forced to play decks I hated as well, as I had the most success with Questline Warlock and Questline Shaman. They were enjoyable to play, but I just felt like crap afterwards. 

    I've managed to save up 9,145 gold, with 6,900 dust (shouldn't have crafted Mr. Smite...thought he would be broken and I could just disenchant him lol). Not bad for someone who didn't purchase the tavern pass since the cosmetics offered were absolute dogsh*t. I'll probably buy the next tavern pass since I like the portraits being offered, and there seems to be more value this time around. 

    I'm setting my goal for the next expansion at 200 again, and I'm gonna reach it this time, dammit! 

  • I will end at at level 225 with the pass.  I'm happy with progress considering that I lost a week and a half of daily and weekly quests due to the hurricane.  I do feel the pass is the best bargain in the game.  It will be the only thing I purchase from this company until their is a change in leadership at the top.

  • So I´ve ended exactly at lvl 268 (5XP above) just before the start of the new rewards track. Already bought the next TP, with 2x3 quests ready to go. I usually hoard around 8-10k gold for the start of the expansion, this time it´s a bit above 4k, but I can´t complain much since I was on a spending spree (my bad lol).

    Well, thank you all for contributing to this thread, sharing your progress, thoughts and insights. It was a blast reading each and every comment, and you bet I did! Now it´s time to slowly close this one down and with this words I´d like to invite someone else to take the torch from me and make another one for Alterac. Hope to see you all there soon!   • I'm at level 259.

    I was curious what level would I get if I hadn't bought battle pass. I'm a bit lazy to account for fine details, so I only looked at levels above 100. If I got 159 levels with 20% boost, then without it I would get level 132. 27 levels of difference equals 1350 gold.

    Battle pass costs the same as 15 packs. It's funny that bonus gold I got from it is very close to that 15 packs equivalent.
