Randomly attack 3 different enemies*
The wording made me cringe
Blizzard wording consistency strikes again!
This has amazing art, and the pseudo-Charge is very scary.
This looks like an arena card, or a 1-off for standard decks.
Also, 24 potential face damage is nuts. More randomness it seems. Probably very frustrating to play against or to lose to, but we know it's not their goal to make losing fun.
No 24 face damage scenarios: the enemies Trenchstalker will hit must be different - if there are less than three enemies to attack, it will just attack less times.
It hits different enemies so it can only hit face once.
It would be broken if it can hit face three times because setting up an empty board is not that hard since warriors have Shield Shatter.
Its Deathwing, Mad Aspect, but easily slotted into tempo decks as well. To top it all, this card can actually strike face too.
A bit baffling that its an epic and not legendary. Because this card does so much that its hard to justify not playing it. The cost may be its only downfall, being at 9 mana means its taking your hand space 90% of the time. But definitely something worth experimenting, assuming it doesn't just get inserted into every warrior deck for the next 2 years.
Edit: The wording is random enemies. So a small chance it can just hit face three times. If it does, is definitely nearing nerf levels of good.
it can't and it's bad. it costs 9 mana and only does stuff if you actually play it from hand, so no recruit tricks.
I used to believe the same for Deathwing, Mad Aspect. I remember getting upset opening it from a pack too. But it was one of warrior's important cards during its lifetime in standard.
Control warrior currently is playing Raid Boss Onyxia in their deck. So if a 10 mana card can work, why not this? Worth experimenting if nothing else.
the wording is "three DIFFERENT random enemies" so it can't go face 3 times
Yeah seems like my glasses got fogged up too much. Oh well.
Moreover, it has Conditioning (Rank 2) synergy for even more resilience and even more SMOrc!
But Warrior still misses one fundamental thing: card draw.
By turn 9 you would have drawn more than a third of your deck naturally anyway. If the card's good enough we might even be running loot hoarders just to make it more consistent.
Warrior seems to be getting lots of good stuff in this expansion it seems. So much that maybe the lack of card draw wouldn't even be felt.
that is if Loot Hoarders will still be in standard ;)
we still haven't seen the new core set :)
Deathwing, Mad Aspect, but Epic (a potential 2 of per each deck) and for one more mana. On the other hand, your side of the board is safe.
Seems like a good compromise, but I question myself: how many times have you found yourself playing Deathwing, Mad Aspect when you had other friendly minions in play?
Well, for me personally... as soon as I can play Deathwing, Mad Aspect I play Deathwing, Mad Aspect 😅RIP my board state.
This guy on the other hand only targets enemies so there's no real drawback, other than playing a 9 mana minion
This also goes face, which is nuts!
Woah, I didn't think of that!
This factor alone is worth half a start more in my personal card rating.
