I love that Hobbs has been given a card to reveal. Well done, Hobbs!
Aw, so many Collosal with cool effects and one starfish to destroy them all.
I know it's not a big deal to most of you, but this is the first time that Hobbs has been given a card reveal. He's been playing, streaming, and posting youtube videos for this game since the beginning. (I was there, 10,000 years ago.) He recently was given a theorycrafting spot too and he cried he was so thankful. Mission Accomplished, sir. I am so proud of you.
FACE ME, YOU SMOTHERING STARFISH
Skulking Geist for the Snowfall Guardian
Pls clarify... this isn't 6 mana nor destroys any cards.
Skulking was a big counter to Jade if I remember correctly. This card will be a big counter to Snowfall Guardian decks.
Relax, guys. I'm surprised people still get so huffy puffy during card reveal season. Wait and see how things shake out.
1 star. The other 4 are just my joy of having a neutral viable silence.
it counters Freeze Shaman thing, so might be a decent tech
I'm not convinced yet. You only have two Starfish (if you can afford to load your deck with both copies) while the Shaman has two Snowfall Guardians and two Parrots plus any Windchills they run or generate. Your only chance is to kill them the turn your Starfish hits which is admittedly more than we have now. Let's hope it will be enough.
If you can't survive even one Guardian without a Starfish, you need more help than the designers can give you.
I don't mind a single Guardian, even if it is a big one. What annoys me though is Guardian into Guadian into Parrot into Parrot into Shudderwock with a Grumble somewhere down the line and Loatheb in between for good measure. There sure are some tech cards like Dragonbreath, the new Blademaster or Starfish, but you can only slot in so many tech cards without crippling your deck in other matchups. Maybe this is Blizzard's way to let people who weren't around at the time enjoy the feeling of OG Freeze Mage.
All that said, what REALLY annoys the hell out of me is that Guardian is still bugged sometimes. Every other time my opponent's minions get frozen by their own Guardian but thaw on my turn which is very problematic if it is their second or third Guardian turn and I wasn't able to clear the board in the meantime.
In wild you do Living Dragonbreath instead of course... Starfish is just for standard for now unless there is a huge incentive to specfically silence in wild (which might be say against big priestt)
As much as silence is disliked (myself included), it's still necessary to have some mechanics to swing the game in favor of a player that's behind, especially with huge Colossal minions and other minions with very strong effects in this expansion.
Well, we didn't get Living Dragonbreath but we got next big counter to all that nasty Snowfall Guardians.
But its like all tech cards, all depends on meta. But it does mean that nearly all deathrattle decks get a massive middle finger to the face.
5-star card
Cptn Smite and random weapon will still kill you anyway :)
With every reveal my hype and expectations for the expansion goes down more and more. First support cards for questline hunter, then Pirate Admiral Hooktusk and now neutral mass silence for only 3 mana
So much for your Colossals, haha. It least you still get the wide board I guess, but whatever fun you expected to get from their effects can be cheaply nullfied. Interesting choice.
