Welcome, fellow achievement hunter.
Ever since the introduction of the rewards track, each expansion has always brought us a handful of achievements to complete in order to gain more rewards: while some of them are relatively easy to complete, some others may take some time or a proper set up. In case you're wondering what's the best way to gain all that sweet sweet XP locked behind Murder at Castle Nathria's achievements, do not fret, as we have the answer you're looking for!
In this guide we'll focus our attention on the Castle Nathria Demon Hunter achievements and provide at least one way to complete each of them so that you'll be able to get closer to the end of your reward track.
Disclaimer: as always, all expansion achievements can be completed in Ranked Standard, Ranked Wild, Arena, Casual & Heroic Duels and Classic - Casual Standard, Casual Wild and Tavern Brawl will not count towards your hunt! Moreover, we'll always take Ranked Standard as the default game format for our strategies: if we happen to have some strategies or particular interactions belonging to other modes to highlight, we'll be sure to specify it.
Here are all the achievements we're going to complete together:
- Appetite for Destruction - Discard 8 cards with a single Kryxis the Voracious.
- Sharp Observation - Draw 30 cards with Magnifying Glaive.
- That Belongs in a Museum! - Cast 25/50/100 Relics.
- Devil's Advocate - Summon 25/50 Demons with All Fel Breaks Loose.

Castle Nathria Demon Hunter Achievements Overview
Demon Hunter has an easy achievement in Appetite for Destruction, which can be completed in a single game, a two grindy ones, which however won't take too long.
We'd say that Illidan's achievement set has an average difficulty, which is mitigated even more by the fact that both Relics and the hyper aggressive "shuffle" cards are brand new archetypes and players will want to try them out for sure.
Edit: guide updated with the achievement from the Maw and Disorder Mini-Set.
How to Complete the "Appetite for Destruction" Demon Hunter Achievement
- Requirement: Discard 8 cards with a single Kryxis the Voracious.
- Speed Rating: 5/5.
- XP Points Rewarded: 200 XP
- Related Achievements:
- Demon Hunter's That Belongs in a Museum! - Relics are cheap, grant a bit of board control and card draw: if you manage to open them, you may want to hit two birds with a single stone!
If you need to discard 8 cards with Kryxis the Voracious' Battlecry, then you'll need to have at least 9 cards in hand before dropping it. While such a play would be very detrimental in case you were climbing ladder, things change when you're achievement hunting, as you don't really care if Appetite for Destruction makes you lose a match.
- Abyssal Depths will always draw Crimson Sigil Runner and Kryxis the Voracious, granting you a (rather expensive, but still pretty useful) tutor in case you're not particularly lucky with your draws.
- When you have 9 or more cards in hand, play Kryxis the Voracious and complete Appetite for Destruction.
- You need to discard 8, so you'll need to have 8 plus Kryxis.
How to Complete the "Sharp Observation" Demon Hunter Achievement
- Requirement: Draw 30 cards with Magnifying Glaive.
- Speed Rating: 3/5.
- XP Points Rewarded: 200 XP
- Related Achievements:
- Demon Hunter's Appetite for Destruction - This achievement asks you to fill your hand with cards, while Sharp Observation requires you to do the opposite, but you can still try.
In order for us to complete this achievement as fast as possible, we need a deck with a very low curve, so that we'll be able to dump our hand with ease. In order to do so, the new "shuffle" cards from Castle Nathria may help you. 30 cards to draw aren't a lot: even if you draw just 2 cards at time, it will only take you 15 swings to get there.
- Multi-Strike grants your Hero a Windfury-like buff, so if you're fast enough to dump your entire hand after the first attack, you can draw 3 additional cards on the same turn.
- Kryxis the Voracious makes the cut because it allows you to instantly dump your entire hand, but it's not fundamental by any means.
- We wish Cast When Drawn spells counted towards Sharp Observation,: this way, Soul Fragments in Wild would've been a really easy way to get the job done. However, Hearthstone Game Designer Leo Robles tweeted this.
Quote From Leo Robles Hey @MyntyPhresh I have a question regarding the “Sharp Observation” achievement for Demon Hunter. If Magnifying Glaive draws a Cast When Drawn spell, does it count towards the achievement? In other words, can I get more than 3 progression points with the same weapon swing?
I can only say this with like 90% certainty - it would only trigger the cards explicitly drawn from its effect (meaning extra cards drawn from Cast When Drawn don't count)
How to Complete the "That Belongs in a Museum!" Demon Hunter Achievement
- Requirement: Cast 25/50/100 Relics.
- Speed Rating: 3/5.
- XP Points Rewarded: 100, 100 and 500 XP
- Related Achievements: none.
If That Belongs in a Museum! were to ask us to play Relics, things would've taken a significantly higher amount of time; however, the achievement's text says cast, meaning that the ones from Artificer Xy'mox (and Relic Vault) will count as well.
In order for us to cast 100 Relics in the shortest possible amount of time, we'll use a list focused on getting as many chances to Discover additional Relics as possible, as well as ways for you to exploit Artificer Xy'mox. We are confident that the deck you see below will get the job done without losing your mind over That Belongs in a Museum!.
- Taelan Fordring always draws Artificer Xy'mox, so that it will be Infused in no time.
- Play and Discover as many Relics as possible.
- Relic Vault will give you double the progress on the achievement.
- Try to combine Brann Bronzebeard with Artificer Xy'mox for 6 procs in a single move.
- Zola the Gorgon is another flexible piece you could use here and there, depending on the state of the game.
- If you're on a budget, just replace both Taelan Fordring and Artificer Xy'mox with two other utility cards (Aldrachi Warblades?).
How to Complete the "Devil's Advocate" Demon Hunter Achievement
- Requirement: Summon 25/50 Demons with All Fel Breaks Loose.
- Speed Rating: 3/5
- XP Points Rewared: 200 and 200 XP
- Related Achievements:
- Demon Hunter's That Belongs in a Museum! - You need a good shell to churn through your deck and Relic do that very well.
- Neutral's Gone but Not Forgotten - Dispossessed Soul gives you a chance to Discover an additional copy of All Fel Breaks Loose.
All Fel Breaks Loose is a Fel spell, which makes this achievement much easier to do. In fact, Demon Hunter has two Fel spell tutors you can use for Devil's Advocate: Fossil Fanatic and Felgorger, the latter also being a Demon! You just have to make sure that All Fel Breaks Loose is the only Fel spell in your deck and you're good to go. 50 Demons to summon means 17 All Fel Breaks Loose casts, which is very reasonable.
- In your mulligan, look for either of the two Fel tutors.
- Once All Fel Breaks Loose is in your hand, summon and kill your Demons.
- Flanking Maneuver is a great card, as it provides two 4/2 Demons with Rush that can be resurrected by All Fel Breaks Loose.
- Play Infused All Fel Breaks Loose to summon 3 Demons and progress the achievement.
- The deck contains many units that allow you to Discover additional copies of All Fel Breaks Loose.

Yeah...so the part about Relic Vault and Xy'mox counting towards the achievements is a lie. Only the regular relics being played count for some reason, although I can't rule out that something like Vargoth would work
Is it? I haven't had the chance to try that achievement yet because I do not own Artificer Xy'mox, but the "cast" in the achievement's description is quite self-explanatory...
Come on dude, you of all people should know that wording in Hearthstone means fuck all. Things work the way they do, the wording is a 50/50.
Stupid me I guess.
Even though achievement hunting isn't about winning, I'd still suggest waiting a week on the DH achievements in the hopes that some of the relics get buffed, so it'll feeling better playing them, while achievement hunting :)
In that same sense/logic, but reversed… achievement hunters like myself should probably do the grindy Hunter and Warlock achievements now before the nerf hammer strikes and win a few more games while it lasts 😉
Pretty fair. Even if not buffed directly, the Relic package will definitely shine more if DH gets an additional push
