Evolve Shaman but with Mage spells
Cool cards, it does bug me though that the legendary costs 2 more than tess and loses the ability to replay minions, and no added functionality as far as I can see, I get that mage is generally better at going late but still. Also still not sure why they decided vast wisdom needed to cost 3 mana
Oh wow I love Energy Shaper that's a cool card! The rest of the package looks good.
Except Vast Wisdom, I still stand by the fact that its hot flaming garbage. I'm not sure how it works with Shaper but if it transforms the 3-cost swap into a 5-cost then maybe I can see it being slightly less bad, but still bad and probably only seeing play in this deck.
As someone who loves casino mage, this is my dream card. This is Tess Greymane, but only for spells and i love it! Oh and it can also cast mage spells that didn't start in your deck, which is really good. I guess i know which card to insta-craft day 1.
Can't wait to play Casino Mage in wild with Rommath and 2x Yogg!
ok now Vast Wisdom looks slightly better
Live or Die by RNG Mage never changes.
They should make an archetype for Mage that actually makes you feel like a Mage. RNG makes it seem like the Mage is a rookie at Magic
Actually let us choose the spells we want to cast, for cards that cast multiple spells
As for the card I'm guessing it's pretty strong but a big costed minion is the last thing Mage needs.
This, in my opinion, is what I always hated about mage's identity
Whenever mage goes full random things go brrrr, I always get this feeling of inevitability, like all my hard work really never matters because no matter how ahead I am I'll find myself losing the game because of some bs random event happening that can never be played around or expected.
More so than priest or rogue, because at least with those classes they're rarely ever competitively viable, and it still does require a degree of skill to pilot. Same cannot be said about mage, because more often than not its pilot doesn't know whats going to happen himself.
But are these cards good? Well its certainly not bad. Mage has more than enough stall options, draw, and can generate spells very well. Energy Shaper is basically going to repeat Deck of Lunacy's history, and you have Grand Magister Rommath as the new puzzlebox, albeit less random.
My only hope is that the deck is clunky enough that its tier 3 at best. But who am I kidding. I cant remember the last time mage featuring random shit didn't end up competitive. Even Trick Totem became a card that needs to be respected.
So casino mage finally gets its Tess? Targeted spells are often the volatile part of Tess' battlecry, and usually best avoided if possible. Since Rommath doesn't have the 'targets enemies' clause, he's going to have the same issue, and doubly so as he can't fill out the bulk of his battlecry with minions to avoid the issue. It does make me wonder why he costs 9 vs Tess' 7. I guess it's much more reliable to get stuff like Rune of the Archmage.
Overall though, it all looks like simple translations of burgle rogue cards into mage (Energy Shaper = modernised Lilian Voss, Rommath = Tess, and Pirsmatic Elemental = Hench-Clan Burglar), so I'll just stick with rogue for this stuff like I always do. I'm sure the people who prefer casino mage will be happy to finally have these tools though.
Rommath is awesome.
I don't care if it is actually good card. I will add him to my Casino Mage and throw as many random and generated spells I can.
Glory to randomness and Yog.
Quick note before the gallery gets updated: Prismatic Elemental is most likely an Epic, as that's what the Korean version is and it wouldn't make sense for Mage to have only 1 Epic.
