Probably my favorite card from this expansion. This will probably be incredibly bonkers in Wild, but I like how it promotes a more mid-rangey and grindy style of play with Pirates, as opposed to the usual aggressive stuff. Those conditions are super easy to meet, and the new Pirates like Stormwind Freebooter and Harbor Scamp look pretty good as well. I'm crafting this one for sure, I miss playing Warrior (didn't play the class that much in Barrens, other than some control decks that sucked).
I wish Cap'n Rokara was a hero portrait, though. That would be more awesome than any of the crap portraits they made of her.
Either that or twitch froze, or did something you weren't aware of. Its a rather long stream so checking once a while might be a better plan than turn on and forget.
I don't really know how to evaluate this. You're never playing this on curve, and certainly no aggro deck would need this because a minion on curve is better and priest still cant draw decently enough for this to be consistently good.
Does control priest need this? Maybe not. Most shadow spells aren't cheap except for Raise Dead, and there's so many good shadow spells that you can never get full value of this card by playing it early in anticipation of destroying a board.
This would have been fantastic at 5 mana, but its effect is still great. Warlock has had a lot of survivability tools recently, so maybe this will finally make a Control/Handlock deck competitive.
Its decent, just adds more to priest's aggro potential.
There's really not many shadow spells to OTK straight, and there's always the issue that this can easily just kill you if you don't sweep the opponent off the first turn you have this.
It gets you close to lethal. That might be good enough even if this procts only once.
Just a super solid card. Rush + Lifesteal is always a good combination no matter the class, and the fact that it's got 6 attack is massive. Clearing a big minion and healing yourself in the process is really good, plus it also helps with the Shaman questline.
Buff for Cenarion Ward, and any card that could summon an 8-cost minion (Primordial Protector). Could also warrant inclusion in a Big Demon Hunter deck, just in case that archetype sees any reliable play.
I'd strongly encourage you to come over and check it out again. LoR has stayed awesome pretty much all along, though there were a couple of rough patches related to live balance. But those are mostly in the past, and they are planning to get back to frequent and large balance changes to ensure a fresh and competitive meta.
And the new PvE mode looks really awesome, though I really cringe to try to imagine how it will be possible to make a run work with Tahm Kench as your starting champion.
Craziest card of the set, for sure. Not sure how viable it's going to be (it'll probably be nothing more than a meme), but it'll be hilarious to bamboozle your opponents into thinking you're another class.
If you're playing shadow aggro priest this card is amazing. Basically aggro decks can afford to ignore damage to their face, while their opponents certainy can't.
Unfortunately it'll almost never live past turns where it'll be relevant, and in aggro mirrors its not helpful especially mindful that priest has very little burst compared to actual aggro classes like hunter.
Really powerful. It won't be that hard to pull off since Mage got a boatload of new Fire spells and synergies, to add on top of the usual ones they run. Could function as a finisher or a board clear, but either way, it's still good assuming you can chain those Fire spells leading up to it.
So apparently the Barrens achievements won't be rewarding experience anymore today...damn it! I was only 4 away from completing the "Cast 100 Rank 3 spells" one, and was also close to completing the "summon 50 Demonspawns" and forcing your opponent to pay extra mana with the Taintheart Tormentor. Not to mention, I bungled the "Destroy your opponent with Mankrik" one after I screwed up the order of play. So much experience gone to waste, damn it all!!!
Anyway, I'm only at Level 162 in the Tavern Pass. Major fail from me, after I vowed to at least get to level 250. Ah well. Still a few more days left to hike that level up to at least 170. I'll really push for a higher level in the next one, I promise!
Its good in so many ways. For quest, its basically fuel for 2/3s of the requirements, and in other decks it allows for flexibility which most paladin decks tend to suffer from.
At least we can see now why Lightbringer's Hammer was printed. Because this card can get it, or whiff for a better weapon.
Another insane card, but perhaps for the wrong class.
Because paladin generally don't play control. This card is a good start, but so much more is needed. The only thing I can see out of this card is being included into quest paladin with cards like Lord Barov, or Bloodmage Thalnos, since nearly all quest decks this time round is slow as hell.
Everytime I see this in the theorycrafting stream its completely nuts. Like its good enough for it to just buff the hand, but it draws as well? Curves well into First Blade of Wrynn too. What was the thinking process behind the design of this thing?
Take a value trade. Just about the only thing that's good about this card. In most cases you'd much rather just run Hand of A'dal for the valuable draw.
The token is a 1/1 divine shield by the way. Not that it would matter too much unless you're running Prismatic Jewel Kit.
New Warrior Spell - Raid the Docks
Probably my favorite card from this expansion. This will probably be incredibly bonkers in Wild, but I like how it promotes a more mid-rangey and grindy style of play with Pirates, as opposed to the usual aggressive stuff. United in Stormwind Theorycrafting Streams are Live! Twitch Drops Reward 2 Stormwind Card Packs
It stops at 11am gmt+8 if Im not mistaken.
Either that or twitch froze, or did something you weren't aware of. Its a rather long stream so checking once a while might be a better plan than turn on and forget.
New Priest Weapon - Shadowcloth Needle
I don't really know how to evaluate this. You're never playing this on curve, and certainly no aggro deck would need this because a minion on curve is better and priest still cant draw decently enough for this to be consistently good.
Does control priest need this? Maybe not. Most shadow spells aren't cheap except for Raise Dead, and there's so many good shadow spells that you can never get full value of this card by playing it early in anticipation of destroying a board.
New Neutral Minion - Stockades Guard
This feels like a merchant that lost the wagon with the others.
New Warlock Minion - Entitled Customer
This would have been fantastic at 5 mana, but its effect is still great. Warlock has had a lot of survivability tools recently, so maybe this will finally make a Control/Handlock deck competitive.
New Neutral Minion - Florist
I bet you can even smell the roses in the golden version.
New Priest Minion - Psyfiend
Its decent, just adds more to priest's aggro potential.
There's really not many shadow spells to OTK straight, and there's always the issue that this can easily just kill you if you don't sweep the opponent off the first turn you have this.
It gets you close to lethal. That might be good enough even if this procts only once.
New Neutral Minion - Mo'arg Forgefiend
and this can be brought back with n'zoth
New Shaman Minion - Canal Slogger
Just a super solid card. Rush + Lifesteal is always a good combination no matter the class, and the fact that it's got 6 attack is massive. Clearing a big minion and healing yourself in the process is really good, plus it also helps with the Shaman questline.
New Neutral Minion - Package Runner
Giving it 2 stars instead of 1 just cause I can see this in a silence priest, but still, it's not good.
New Neutral Minion - Mo'arg Forgefiend
Buff for Cenarion Ward, and any card that could summon an 8-cost minion (Primordial Protector). Could also warrant inclusion in a Big Demon Hunter deck, just in case that archetype sees any reliable play.

Activision Blizzard CEO Bobby Kotick Calls Original Response Tone Deaf, Responds to Lawsuit
I doubt they'll be removing racial jokes / stereotypes / segregation from Warcraft Universe.
Don't think that has anything to do with this lawsuit.
New Shaman Spell - Investment Opportunity
Great card, and most overload cards you play instantly as most of their cost comes next turn.
New Rogue Minion - Maestra of the Masquerade
Craziest card of the set, for sure. Not sure how viable it's going to be (it'll probably be nothing more than a meme), but it'll be hilarious to bamboozle your opponents into thinking you're another class.
New Rogue Spell - Find the Imposter
I've not so familiar to Warcraft lore, are there already SI:7 cards thematically that don't have SI:7 in their name?
New Priest Minion - Voidtouched Attendant
If you're playing shadow aggro priest this card is amazing. Basically aggro decks can afford to ignore damage to their face, while their opponents certainy can't.
Unfortunately it'll almost never live past turns where it'll be relevant, and in aggro mirrors its not helpful especially mindful that priest has very little burst compared to actual aggro classes like hunter.
New Mage Minion - Grand Magus Antonidas
Really powerful. It won't be that hard to pull off since Mage got a boatload of new Fire spells and synergies, to add on top of the usual ones they run. Could function as a finisher or a board clear, but either way, it's still good assuming you can chain those Fire spells leading up to it.
New Rogue Minion - SI:7 Operative
Meh, but at least it's a new SI:7 and works well with the quest.
I like theme cards.
New Rogue Minion - Loan Shark
Still, best idea I've heard.
Rewards Track: Current progress 2.0
So apparently the Barrens achievements won't be rewarding experience anymore today...damn it! New Paladin Minion - Alliance Bannerman
Candidate for nerfs no. 1.
