    First off, congratulations to LutriSpellcaster.

Now, can someone explain why I have this in my notifications?

The link goes to Lutri's page. I was so excited to see it, then so deflated when I realised it's not for me.

Edit: You wanna know the REALLY sad part? I tend not to vote at all for my own card. Had I given myself a 5-star review, I WOULD'VE WON! ARGH!

  • 2 Questions

Hi, i'm new to this game (play it since may 15.) .

Are Unassailable Decks good vs Meta?

    What protector shall i choose?

  • From Foe To Friend - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

I like Magic Mirror the most but it seems a bit too strong given that it has a pretty good taunt body for 6 while also having a Faceless Manipulator on top. I would say that it should probably be 7 or maybe even 8 mana.

  • Runeterra's Patch 1.2 Offers Balance Updates, Expeditions Archetype Changes, and New Personalization Options

I disagree, most 7-9 mana cards are very strong, with almost game winning abilities.

  • Sins Unleashed - A Custom LoR Expansion (Briefing)

Hello there people! I saw that this part of fan creations is bare. Like really dusty. I'm here to fix that! This is what I like to call a booster set because no new region is present here.

So what is the story here? It all began when our good friend Ezreal unleashed the 7 mortal sins onto Runeterra. Well, 5 of the 7 at least. They now spread across the regions clinging to the ones that relate to them the most, corrupting them.

One thing I have say: the SINS are champs here, not any regular ones. I know this is not going to be well received, but I have my heart set on doing this.

Now that is out of the way, this is just here to put a place to display them. I have ideas, but they are not cards yet. This is just to set up. Remind me to delete this later. Also, if you want to create cards with me, join in! PM me and I will assign you a region to do if you want. Individual cards are fine too. I claim P + Z though. I'll update this in 24 hours or so with cards.

As for myself, i don't think Unyielding Spirit trully needs to be changed.

    Score!

They said it needs to be changed, they are just not sure how, yet.

Right. I welcome everyone here for a little quiz.

Lets hypothetically assume you are the one who runs the company.
A relative new card that never saw competitve play suddenly gets all the heat.

Case number 1: You believe the card is fine and want to playtest it for a bit longer... just to make sure people are not overeacting like they did versus Deep decks. What kind of public statement would you release in that situation?
A- Git Gud. (utilizing meaningful polite speech)
B- Do nothing until the situation calms down a bit and reevaluate. Release a statement its in your to-do-list.
    C- Other. *reply your answer*

Case number 2: The card released has proven toxic for many players and also not interactive. You know it needs to be fixed ASAP, but not exactly how to implement it yet. As a company leader, your options are:
A- Nerf the card to ease the situation untill a better solution is found.
B- Do nothing. Release a statement its in your to-do-list.
C- Remove temporarily the card from the game untill a solution is found and refund players.

Now, i want you guys to be as honest and imparcial as you can.
    From the options available:
1- Where do you think the card stands(case 1 or 2) and what would you do in that situation?
2- From a company perspective, where do you believe the statement that was given is MORE LIKELY to fit in?

  • From Foe To Friend - Card Design Competition Discussion Thread

These three seemed to be the most popular. I fixed up some of the wording and numbers, what do you think?

I reduced Magic Mirrors cost to 6 to make him more playable, and also reduced his Health to compensate. Also fixed the wording.

I increased Tad's cost to 5 because I feel it would be too easy to fill your deck with 26 murlocs, Gentle Megasaur, and Everyfin is Awesome, which would make this a way too reliable source of draw for Murloc decks. I also fixed the wording.

@Demonxz95, I really like Frostfur, but I don't think you need the "can't be frozen" bit. I understand why you have it, but it makes the card kind of clunky. And besides, the card is plenty flavorful without it.

@TheHoax91, I like Thaddock the best. Though I wonder if the flavor would be better with Bink the Burglar. He seems like the kind of thief who would grab at random stuff without even knowing what it is.

@shaveyou, Applebough is pretty cool. It makes for a lot of interesting game play. The only thing is the watermark.

@MenacingBagel, Vesh Reborn doesn't make any sense, what does he mean by "if any survive"? Does he mean if they survive until the next round? It looks like an interesting card, but it needs some clarification. K'zrath the Worshiper is also pretty cool, though I think doubling C'thuns stats may be a lot. Maybe if he gave him +5/+5 instead? Also, it would be cool if he did both things instead of one or the other. A C'thun/Galakrond Control Priest sounds interesting. Icarax the Mad is probably too OP. Looking at [Hearthstone Card (Priestess of the Fury) Not Found], minions that destroy other opposing minions every turn are very frustrating to deal with. Granted, it also hits your own board, but I still think this may be too powerful in a control deck. Xatma the Defiler is kind of cool, but I don't think it would realistically work out. Feign Death never really worked out, and this card costs twice as much. In the end, I think I like K'zrath the Worshiper the best, but it could use a little bit of touching up.

@Linkblade91, Nefarian would probably be very popular with the Deathrattle Rogue players. I don't have too much to say about it, it looks cool. I would give it a solid 4 stars, withholding one only because it is probably too slow to see play in most decks, but it would still work in some.

@Xarkkal, Personally, I like Ranger Ar'ha better mainly because random Secrets can be frustrating to play against, and nobody likes it when their opponent sets up a full christmas tree. I would make Ar'ha 6 mana just to make her a bit slower.

@grumpymonk, Alda Petrik is cool. I support any form of recovery in Hunter. Hesutu Stonewind is hard to evaluate. He is either super powerful in the right board state, or just not enough to make a difference. Illidara Sunsdawn is basically Chromaggus for 6 mana. Battlecrier Jin'zo is interesting. He is my favorite of the four. There are so many interactions with different cards, and I also really like the fact that he doesn't have to be played on the same turn as the Battlecry minion like Brann Bronzebeard. I would vote him 5 stars.

@Beatdoof, I like Waxrider Toggwaggle better. It synergizes nicely with [Hearthstone Card (Candlebreath) Not Found], and it might be enough to make Dragon Rogue a thing. Mechanically, it fits so well with Rogues cards in Decent of Dragons. I would vote 5 stars.

@BasilAnguis, I like Toomba best, but I think 4 lackeys is kind of a lot. I would reduce it to one or two lackeys and also reduce his cost.

@DestroyerR, I don't like Rasil because the wording is kind of weird, but mainly because I don't think this should be a thing cards should be allowed to interact with. Vustrasz the Ancient is interesting, but it will probably hurt you more than help you. Maybe if it was a battlecry it would be better, but then it may be a bit too OP with Oaken Summons. Ultimately though I think Queen Waggtoggle is the best. She fits well thematically and can set up for some interesting comboes. I would make her cost 2 mana though. At 3 mana, you have to play 3 additional cards after her before you actually get any benefit, and at that point the opponent has 3 coins. At 2 mana it is a lot easier to get value from her.

@Nirast, Lord Marrowgar is probably way too slow to be useful, and you also forgot to make him Legendary. I really like Deathbringer Saurfang, but I he is just too weak as it is. He won't ever be immune on your opponents turn, and 2 Health is really easy to kill. I would drop the Immunity on your Hero, but Saurfang immune for the entire round whenever you attack. As for the wording, try "Whenever your Hero attacks, give this minion Immune until your next turn". Or if you want to keep it so that your Hero is immune, just add "During your turn your Hero is Immune" before the first sentance.

@anchorm4n, I would increase his cost to 6 mana and maybe give him more Health. Aside from that I think the card looks great.

@MrRhapsody, Personally, I like The Scarecrow the best. I would make him a 4 mana 4/5 just because he requires a lot of setup.

@Shivershine, This looks pretty cool. Though he is a bit bland as he is. I would give him better stats for his cost and maybe add some kind of deckbuilding restriction to give him a bit more character.

@Neoguli, I think you have the best chances of winning with Zaraam. People would really appreciate Thief Priest support. However, instead of making the stolen card cost more for the opponent, it would be better if you made it cost less for you. That way it isn't a hate card which might make some players salty, instead it makes these random cards that have no synergy with your deck more playable.

  • Just remove burst speed all together.

Burst are usually buffs. You can't react to the buff itself, but you can play cards acordingly afterwards.

For example, if your 2/3 is about to trade with my 3/2 and I play an elixir of iron, you can't prevent it from turning into a 3/4, but you can play something like elixir of might, so my unit dies too or glimpse beyond or something to deal 2 damage. Counterplay still exists.

I think burst is fine as long as it's restricted to buff/debuff cards. A direct damage burst would be completely broken.

If we are talking about aggro Noxus - then imo there is no problem. If we kill that deck there will be no aggro at all.

One idea I have. He basically offers you a treasure he found on his journeys. Thoughts?

  • Stuck at Diamond 5. Like, really stuck.

Firstly, D4 is already great and higher than most of the playerbase.

Even if Legend doesn't happen Star bonus for next season is going to be good.

Probably playing when tilted is one of the worst things you can do.  Best to take a break, walk, listen to music for a bit when that happens :)

Wherever you finish, if you can get to D4, have the right attitude and enough play time, Legend is inevitable whether this season or another.

    Good luck!!!

  • Zephrys: the great fails

I can't count the Moments in that I've tried to get Hex and got Edwin VanCleef offered instead.

It would be really great if the Devs put something like „Deathrattles triggering is undesirable" into his Programming.

  • Ephemeral Keyword Rework Idea

I think you don't see many consequences of such change. Yasuo is not the only problem, some more examples:

    - Splinter Soul, Dawn and Dusk - you can combo it with any card that have strong Play effect.

    - Mark of the Isles - you can save a unit from death by spell damage for the next round,

    - Fae Bladetwirler - like... OPOPOP.

In addition, there's a reason that Ephemeral units don't have too much defensive power. They are way cheaper than non-Ephemeral ones (similar non-Ephemeral unit would cost approx. 2 more) and they have many ways to generate additional offesive power (e.g. Shark Chariot, Hecarim). Thus, they win almost all battle trades when they attack. They have so much offensive power that an opponent is usually forced to sacrifice his non-Ephemeral units and key spells to prevent defeat. Thus, it's fair that defence is their weak side.

And something I have to point out, because I heavily disagree:

Also, as the player playing Ephemeral units you would also have to think more about whether or not to block or attack with them.

Right now, there's no reason to put an Ephemeral unit on the field in offensive turn if I don't intend to attack with it, unless it has some additional non-battle effects. I don't think your change gives any serious reasoning to do so, maybe with an exception of mentioned Yasuo deck (usually, it gives even less options, as units won't trigger Last Breath). In defensive turn, it even trivializes tactic - right now, you have to think whether you play and waste a unit, when your opponent may intentionally not attack in answer. After change you just play it and if he doesn't attack - no problem, recall.

I really like Kanrethad Ebonlocke to the point I spent 3200 dust on him.  No not golden but rather crafted on NA and Asia - EU already had him.

Sometimes insane boards on turn 1 with coin.  Great with Solarium.  Can discard the Prime to get 2 copies of it (in rare cases).  And soft taunt like you said.

But the freeze package is interesting - I might give that a go next season :)

  • Just remove burst speed all together.

Burst speed is definitely one of the mechanics in LoR that makes it much harder to balance than a typical CCG, but it's also one of the ways in which LoR sets itself apart from other CCGs. Certainly you need to know what burst spells your opponent is likely to be playing, and plan around them differently than you might for slow or fast spells, but that doesn't make it inherently unfair.

I also think it's not basically the opposite of a "brainless mechanic" as you describe it - if anything, it makes timing your plays so much harder than other games (like MTG) that even seasoned CCG players regularly come out of interactions in LoR feeling a bit dumb about how they sequenced their plays.

  • Stuck at Diamond 5. Like, really stuck.

In my only case of Legend climb attempt (few minutes ago), it was in Wild, which is possibly easier.

But I made it by taking a deck that proved strong to me (Discolock) and tuned it against the meta I was expecting and actually encountering: in Wild it was full of board&weapon Aggro, so I went for Freeze package (3 cards, not just 1), and it worked really well.

So maybe trying to tech against the meta may help. I don't know how to counter Standard higher meta, or if it is possible at all, but the principle should be of some help.

PS: and yes, as og0 suggested, you need the right state of mind: get rid of expectations, you already reached a great result. Anything that comes now from D4 and on should be taken as a gift. Just play at your best and try to laugh at your bad luck when it happens. Legend rank is a side effect.

Thanks for the feedback, I agree Boom was a bad idea. I will stop trying to stay awake until the new competition starts and being creative when I should be asleep.

Here's another idea. I'm happy with the art and the effect, since it mirrors what he does in WoW. I took it out of Karazhan because they got no class legendarys and didn't have Lifesteal back then. The wording seems a bit strange at first glance, but Wild Bloodstinger says it's okay. I could use some help with the stats and would be grateful for general feedback. I will add my two cents later.

Someone just told me this does not compare well to Dirty Rat + Nether Breath. What would you think about making it 3 mana 4/3 or 3 mana 4/2 (which would be a cool reference to Satyr Overseer)? Is that good enough for a legendary?

  • Zephrys: the great fails

I think he doesn't read DR at all.

Which is ok actually, but he should simply consider better the average value of a DR, and offer a proper reaction, at least when available mana is enforced, at least in one of 3 options

  • Just remove burst speed all together.

It is a highly frustrating mechanic. You can do whatever you want with no counter play if it is burst which is BS and inherently makes any card that isn't burst speed tremendously worse.

I get. Its a way to have a different type of counter play outside of having a bunch of counter spell type cards. But the difference is that playing another card to counter a spell feels good. Like you out played them. But playing a bust spell just feels cheesy overall. One the other person can't counter it and for the caster it requires no forethought as to what the other player may do to counter it and have to ask themselves how do I counter their counter.

Burst is a completely brainless mechanic that is frustrating for the enemy player and encourages brainless play from the caster.

About whiffs, I think Zephrys the Great is still quite clumsy about evaluating when to give you a tech against Secrets and Deathrattles.

On (0) left he offered me no Silence against the only Expired Merchant on board (nothing else).  In 3 options. wth...

I was in a similar situation before. I think this is due to the fact, that Zephrys doesn't read the deathrattle effects of some minions.

  • Yet another first time F2P legend

This is the list I used from D3 to Legend:

I am still unconvinced of Kanrethad Ebonlocke (sometimes bonkers, sometimes just a 3/2 soft taunt). I never got to play [Hearthstone Card (kanrethad prime,) Not Found] so I think in this meta he can be replaced with a second Frozen Shadoweaver.

I think Freeze is much better than Taunt, because the former subverts initiative.

Maiev Shadowsong can probably be replaced with Loatheb.

I never, NEVER wanted to grind for Legend, because I always found it extremely stressful: I always limited myself to r5 and then play my own homebrews.

But with the new system, I must say I felt more lured to it, because there were less stars between D5 and L.

And I actually succeded today without even too much of a grind! Legend for the first time!

I used a Wild Discolock with Freeze package (which worked wonders against DH, PW and mirror). Rank 29xx (can't remember).

I am quite happy with the achievement. Although now I'm not sure it was so much of an achievement tbh, it didn't feel that hard. And I'm not even sure I want to play meta decks for grinds to Diamond ever again?

But well, cheers to me for today!

Congrats! I just started playing Disco Lock last week and having lots of fun. Would you pleasae explain the freeze package or post your deck list?
