  • Buff Priest?

Too many one-ofs in this deck, yet not enough for a Highlander setup.

I think you should refine it more.

You will probably get to a Tempo Priest with Galakrond package, which is something that's been marginally experimented for some weeks now.

Galakrond Buff Priest is better than people think, but ultimately unreliable and/or skill intensive.

A Thief package could also be taken into consideration.

  • Is there an easy way to identify which expansion a card is from?

    Hey sinti

I didn't mean when you use the [ card [Hearthstone Card (] code. I meant on the card page itself. I linked to Crystology (https://outof.cards/hearthstone/cards/425-crystology). On that page, under  'Card  Stats' it has the text 'Expansion: The Boomsday Project'. My suggestion is that it has 'Expansion: *icon* The Boomsday Project'.

Or maybe you are asking about something completely different? Just an overview page where there would be watermarks listed and the name of the expansion they belong to, so you can quickly identify which image belongs to which expansion?

    Yeah, that was point no.3

And my 2nd point was that on this page: https://outof.cards/hearthstone/expansions/ the expansions are listed, with a title and a big thumbnail. Maybe an icon could be added next to the text there, too?

Personally, I think the overview page is probably the most useful one?

Hey, thanks for showcasing my deck, much appreciated. By the way, the reason it's classified as a "Deathrattle Rogue" is that there is no archetype option on the deckbuilder for "Mecha'thun Rogue". I know it's not the most popular archetype but maybe the classification should exist.

    Thanks for trying it out!

When I made the deck, I absolutely expected it to be meme tier. As I said in the guide, I was shocked at its performance in the games I played with it--fortunately, the deck is really fun to play too.

Technically, there is a way to do that already, but it is just not preferable. First, we do not have an easy tool to do it, but more importantly, it would just make the text look awkward and it would take away your attention from the content. Iv seen few ppl do it in their deck guides in the past and it did exactly that.

Let me give you an example:

Sludge Slurper is a very strong card, but if you aren't a fan or want some more bulk, Surging Tempest can fill that role instead. Moreover, if you don't have Tunnel Trogg, Surging Tempest is an easy substitution.

It is way more fluent to not have the set icons in the text themselves. I can understand having difficulties with recognizing the watermark on the card behind the card text, but i would think that majority of ppl will know to which set the card belongs to and if there is a card they are unsure of, they can just inspect the watermark on the card; or click on the card and check out the card page. I dont believe you would need to do this for every other card and if you did, you might want to head to card search or to Expansion pages and look over the cards from individual expansions to better familiarize yourself with them.

Having it laid out for every single card would be over the top imho. And if the argument would be that it would be easier for new players, they dont know the set images anyways and it is better to get an idea via other sources listed above.

Priest's new identity has been out for a while now but I haven't seen any decks that focus on this very much so far. Therefore I tried my hands at it myself, the result being this:

(Edit: lol, I just realized there are no "new identity" cards in there but Power Infusion. But yeah, the spirit is there. The deck revolves around healing and buffing our minions.)

The idea is to get out cheap minions early and buff them with spells and heal to outvalue our opponents. In my eyes the dragon package and Galakrond are especially debatable. I added the first mainly because of Breath of the Infinite. While the invokers are great and really do their job, I'm not so sure about Galakrond himself. I have yet to play him in a game and really would have needed him only once but didn't draw him in time.

Sethekk Veilweaver and Dark Prophecy are the powerhouses of this deck. If you manage to drop Embalming Ritual on a veilweaver or Reliquary of Souls, our opponent usually gets in trouble.

So far I have played the deck on ranks 3 and 2 platinum with a win rate of around 50% over less than 10 games. I've beaten a Tempo Demon Hunter and lost to a Galakrond Rogue only through highroll RNG on his side.

So maybe this deck is actually viable, but as I know that I'm no good at deck building, I was hoping for some ideas from you for improving it. What do you think?

If nothing else, it was fun to build something up from scratch that actually seems to work for a change.

  • Topsy Turvy

    Pretty good for OTK.

  • Totemic Might

That's pretty good value for 0 mana!

  • Totemic Surge

Even Shaman, or Totem Shaman in wild, not too sure about standard.

  • Twin Slice

    A very versatile card.

  • Whispers of EVIL

    evil

  • Wisp

Blizz plz Hall of Fame this guy, he's too OP.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Zap!

A better Backstab. Also cool golden art.

  • Mecha'thun

I wish I had him golden.

  • Clockwork Giant

Haven't seen this played since Naga Sea Witch got nerfed.

  • Arcane Giant

I remember playing these in miracle rogue way back in the day.

  • Molten Giant

I feel like the text on this card should be changed to "Costs (1) less for each Health your hero is missing." to reflect how it actually works. Either that or make it keep reduced cost when your hero is healed.

Props to whoever submitted the Sylvanas Prime card. Looks like there was no need to worry about lots of Sylvanas submissions but the one that did come around eventually is far better than mine. Good luck!

I gave it 3 stars because the first version is really cool and a good set-up for the prime version, but I think the prime is way OP when compared to the other prime cards.

Now that you've pointed it out, that's incredibly obvious. 6 mana is way to cheap for stealing 3 minions, the silence part won't make that much worse. Guess I was blinded by the great idea of using her former form as a Ranger to set up the Prime card. I didn't know that was wrong, too, until Sinti pointed it out. 3 stars sounds reasonable, the Prime card is just too undercosted.

  • Odd Spell Damage Dragon Shaman

Just a comment to say that I played the deck a couple of games and absolutely loved it.

  • Holy Wrath

That flavor text is on point.

  • Shirvallah, the Tiger

    Holy Wrath's best friend.

Glen is right about the attack token advantage.
In any symmetrical game, the player with initiative always holds the advantage.

The problem here is that the games you're comparing this to (MTG, Hearthstone) are fundamentally asymmetric.

No, i am comparing to trully symmetrical games, like Chess.
The simpler a game is to solve, the iniciative advantage becomes more evident.
Tic tac toe is a great example of a game that showcases the power of going first.
But even in complex games like chess, its a well know fact the white pieces have a higher winrate over black pieces.
Any Game Theory Optimal book can explain this concept better if you are interested.

Despite quoting this specific part, know that your posts are good and demonstrate some deep grasp about the game.
I enjoy reading them very much =P

  • Consistenly Having Issues vs SI

The best tip against The Ruination is always remember it costs 9 mana.

When you have a decent board and you both have 9 mana+ in the bank, always consider to pass your turn without spending a single mana.
So keep passing until he drops under 9 mana, as he can't pass forever or your units will eventually overwhelm him.
When he does play The Ruination, you will have 9+ advantage to do plays or rebuild the board.

Yeah, sharing that info could be a problem. The best I can come up with are a pop-up when building the deck, and a list somewhere on the main screen where those bans are... well, listed.

Then again, MtG and Yu-Gi-Oh have been using nothing but a list on a site somewhere, and they're doing fine!

Those games are not the best comparison for LOR, nor HS. Like i said, HS and now LOR are trying to cater to the broad casual audience to get a huge playerbase and with that comes "dumbing down" of the mechanics, so they are easy to pick up and understand. Which is fine, but then stuff like what you suggest does not fit into that philosophy. MTG can afford this, because it has built its playerbase over literally decades and id argue that the majority of the playerbase is anything but casual :) (or rather the now-casuals are old hardcore players who know the mechanics or can easilly get back to them without being confused by them)
