Great picks, another card I'm really looking forward to is King Phaoris. It will probably not be the best card, but it's very cool, and that's what matters! And, while on the subject of big spells: Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron. Yogg's back, baby! Out of all the cards you listed I gotta put Elise the Enlightened on #1 though, even if it's just because I spent a lot of time theorycrafting a cool combo deck ever since she got announced:
I know mage excels in AOE, but sometimes you need a real board clear. Now the question is, why does mage has no board clear while other classes do. I can create some 2/3 card combo which should clear the board, say a 6 damage to all minions. But his does not clear a board of mountain giants for instance, or one 24/24 mech.
I do not understand...why would you craft a golden legendary to ensure your free one is the one you want? Why not then create the one you want directly? If you have the dust for it anyway...I must be missing something here.
I think you misunderstood. The order is:
1) get free ones; can’t avoid because it happens on login
2) craft the Golden you want
3) open preorder packs
The suggestion is to do Step 2 before Step 3 so that you don’t wind up getting a non-Golden version of the same legendary first.
True, mage doesn't have unconditional board clears, just those that deal damage, that's mostly because the basic and classic sets got 3 strong AOE cards that are constantly seen in mage decks: Doomsayer + Frost Nova, Blizzard, Flamestrike.
they might not be Plague of Death, Psychic Scream or Brawl, but thanks to mage's hero power those aoes are better at dealing with the board and "softening" the targets, and the access to freeze effects makes those aoes more inevitable..
AOE (area of effect) is no guaranteed boardclear by definition. As long as more than one minion is affected, it‘s technically AOE. (Stuff like Cone of Cold is debatable, let‘s just say everything that affects the entire (enemy) board)
that modifies the deck with powerful cards but there is nearly no card draw. The whole deck might be unstable and run out defence. I don´t see blazin as bad but agree that 2 earthquakes might be too much. Also elementary reactions might be too weak but there is no card draw i woudl use except one Spirit Frog.
You don't really need card draw if most of your cards cost 6+ mana? some big shaman decks run Spirit of the Frog but as the list stands it got enough late game, also Al'Akir the Windlord is a card that can be considered for the deck as well, can be replaced by one decoy maybe.
I looked at the list and turns out I put in only 2 new cards, and one of them just removes one archmage for a colossus I am not sure which is the other card I removed for earthquake but oh well, this is how I would build big shaman though.
Not sure if I'm going to enjoy this meta tbh. Too many busted cards and board flips out of nowhere. It will take a while for me to properly adjust I think.
That may be, but the Lifedrinkers come down four turns earlier, help complete the quest, pressure the opponent and synergize with Shudderwock. I'd definitely swap them.
I’m really hoping not to get any quests at first because the legendaries seem so much better.
The quests have been quite underwhelming, but that’s not a complaint. Rather just an observation.
if I had to choose, then I probably say Unseal the Vault because hunter simply doesnt need it.
You're guaranteed to get one free
Probably hack the System then, since it forces a requirement to load your deck with weapons which become dead cards in your hand if you are already wielding one
I'm kinda glad that mage doesn't have access to big aoe damage or cheap powerful board clear (Dragon's Fury is there, but it's fine). She can be excel in some specialty like transformation effect Polymorph, but that card isn't in every deck anymore. I hope mage will get more good sort of spells in the future that isn't a board clear itself.
Is there any possible strategy to maximise the profit? Is a 2-2 run better to be saved for the reset then a 7-2 for example? Both have Pros and cons...
Probably not worth the thought but how do you approach it?
I tried to mathematicly solve this but it‘s more complexe then i thought. Guessed winrate, average profit per win and stuff
The most important factor is time investment. Everything else is secondary.
Then it kinda depends on how well you do in arena on average, if you are casual player and average 3 wins, staying at 2-2 is probably a good bet, since you dont want to end up 2-3 and having to pay for another run ... unless you would play that next run anyway.
If you average higher and you know the deck you have is pretty decent but you just had some bad luck, iv had many 12-2 that started as 0-2s or 2-2s for example, so then it might be worth playing it out a bit more.
I have been stuck at 299 wins on my Shammy for 4 fucking days!! Can someone please just DC on me so I can hit 300... it's driving me insane being stuck at 299!!
LOL I can help you out no problem. I play on Europe, the name is Zwanezang. Drop me a friend request and I will happily lose with some meme deck against you

Almost every class has a guaranteed board clear, except mage. Why? According to Blizzard, the mage should excel in AOE. Is AOE something different from a guaranteed board clear? I do not understand. Any1 has ideas about this?

For once i totally agree with you. ;P
It also makes sense that Mage plays differently with spells and AoE btw. Otherwise it'd be too similar to Warlock.

No Board Clear for mage
Because mage got a 3 damage explosive trap & Arcane Flakmage, and because that class identity memo is an unworkable mess.

i am absolutely fine with a spirit of the frog version. It´s the draw option i would use. I do an adaption ...

So yes, mage has plenty of options and just got two new ones with Flame Ward and Arcane Flakmage.
Besides, hunter, rogue, paladin and druid haven‘t gotten any boardclears at all.

let's call this deck deck without Spirit of the Frog and build a new list with Spirit of the Frog support:

The replacements are all good, but the card draw is a good question.
I can't seem to solve it, so I'll just take a look at the guides of big shaman deck.

I'll definitely craft a golden Zephyris, great addition for a 35 legendary card deck.

Hi, I would suggest Ohna'ahra (https://wow.gamepedia.com/Ohn%27ahra).
The eagle spirit that played a role with one of Hunter's legendary weapons in WoW:Legion.
Good luck with the expansion.

remove:
- 2 Blazing Invocation MEH card
-2 Elementary Reaction wasn't even run in elemental decks, 2 mana draw 1? not impressed.
-1 Lightning Storm too weak
-1 Earthquake too much aoe.
add:
+2 Likkim good early game control card.
+1 Lightning Bolt for likkim mostly.
+1 Hagatha the Witch too good to not include.
+1 Zilliax you always run zilliax.
+1 Big Bad Voodoo / Ancestral Spirit
