In honor of his buff in the upcoming patch, I thought I'd share what I think is the best Vlad deck.  Note that it is an evergreen deck with no Rising Tides cards--not by intention, but because I honestly don't like any of the new cards in this decklist.

Cards I considered but ultimately cut:

• Ember Maiden has some potential, but I don't like the downsides: you can't stop it, it hurts your own nexus, it triggers opposing Crimson Disciples, and it usually only lives 1.5 rounds.
• Kindly Tavernkeeper is popular in other decks but I just hate the slow speed and meager effect.  Even with the upcoming attack buff, I think he's just too underwhelming
• Mogwai loves Noxian Fervor in this archetype.  For me, I just really hate dealing 3 to my own units here: it usually means the unit will die, and this deck succeeds or fails based on maintaining board presence.
• An earlier version of this decklist ran Noxian Guillotine.  While its definitely an underrated card in general, I think this deck needs units and buffs a lot more than it needs a conditional removal spell.
• I played a little with Stalking Wolf: it often can kill its own rabbit for free progression, and a 3-attack challenger threatens many key backline units.  Ultimately I cut it because I didn't like its lineup against P&Z/Noxus burn, but that may no longer be a factor
• I'd love to incorporate Avarosan Hearthguard--everything in this deck really loves buffs--but its just too greed.  The current 4-6 drops all have more immediate impact due to synergies and the 1-3 drops and buffs are necessary to contest early game.

Cards currently in which I could reconsider:

• Starlit Seer is in mostly to provide a couple more 2-drops in case we miss Crimson Disciple.  This was necessary with the prevalence of Noxus/P&Z decks; if aggro's popularity goes down, I could see cutting it.
• I have a 1-of Bloodsworn Pledge carried over from my original list.  There are times when it wins me the game--e.g., land it on a regenerating unit, or a disciple which my opponent assumed was going to die.  Other times, it just feels like worse version of Take Heart.  As a result, I don't feel strongly for or against it.
• Babbling Bjerg is a similar carried-over 1-of.  He tutors the Vlad, which means you can either play Vlad on board (which is usually a good thing) or if you have an existing Vlad he's a Transfusion (which is always a great thing).  In practice, though, he feels slow: there's almost something more interesting I'd rather do with my mana.

In Legends of Runeterra, Ephemeral units have the problem of being great on offense, but only playable on defense to prevent an Attack. In order to make them better on Defense and more interesting to play with and against, the Keyword Ephemeral could be changed to:

"This unit dies when it strikes. When the round ends, recall it"

This would open up a lot of new lines of play, since you could play something like the 5/5 Lifesteal Ephemeral on defense and then your opponent is forced to choose between giving you card advantage by not attacking or board advantage by attacking and having one of their units trade with an Ephemeral. Also, as the player playing Ephemeral units you would also have to think more about whether or not to block or attack with them. This change would be mostly a buff, but it would also make it so that on-death triggers wouldn't happen with ephemeral units unless you attack or block with them, which makes combos with cards like Phantom Prankster or Neverglade Collector require attacks. 

It is a highly frustrating mechanic. You can do whatever you want with no counter play if it is burst which is BS and inherently makes any card that isn't burst speed tremendously worse.

I get. Its a way to have a different type of counter play outside of having a bunch of counter spell type cards. But the difference is that playing another card to counter a spell feels good. Like you out played them. But playing a bust spell just feels cheesy overall. One the other person can't counter it and for the caster it requires no forethought as to what the other player may do to counter it and have to ask themselves how do I counter their counter.

Burst is a completely brainless mechanic that is frustrating for the enemy player and encourages brainless play from the caster.

Are Unassailable Decks good vs Meta?

What protector shall i choose? 

Dreamed of making this thread, but after 4 years of playing didn't think it would ever happen.  It's a bit self congratulatory but I hope this one time that's ok.

Was rank 13 wild starting last season and managed to get to Rank 1 for the first time ever.

This month I decided it was time to properly try - I'd just play up to 10 games each night until the season was over or I hit legend for the first time, and earn that card back (which I won't use because I don't actually like it lol).

I used my version of Dragon Jade Druid which I really like.  My 4 year old Druid isn't even level 60 so it's fair to say I'm not an expert Druid player:)

Had 82% winrate - 27-6

Even better Rank 1 final boss emoted Well Played so I added him (I give kudos to anyone who emotes WP on a loss) and we had a great chat after.  Explained first time legend situation and he was really kind and we kinda of shared it together :P  Props to him.

Anyway, rambled enough so just to say if you are trying to do the same, there's lots of advice out there.  But you can do it if you play, practice and a bit of good RNG helps too :)

There are still other BS cards that need adressing, mainly:

- Unyielding spirit -> it shouldn't be able to target champions
- Atrocity -> it shouldn't be able to target nexus, you might reduce cost to compensate

I think it's bad design in any card game, when you can make a deck where the whole winning condition depends on 1 card, and 1 card alone and a strategy which is virtually uncounterable. No card should be THAT powerful. 

Here's mine:

• Boomcrew Rookie from 1/4 to 1/3
• Used Cask Salesman from 3/2 to 2/2
• Loyal Badgerbear from 4/4 to 4/3
• Unyielding Spirit increases from 8 mana to 9 mana
• L1 Vi from 2+/5 with tough to either 2+/4 or no tough.
• L1 Jinx from 4/3 to 4/4
• L1 Shen from 2/5 to 2/7
• Chief Mechanist Zevi decreased from 6 mana to 5 mana (5/6)
• Unscarred Reaver gains tough (1 mana 0+/3)
• Ember Maiden from 3/2 to 3/3
• Aurora Porealis from 7 mana to 6 mana
• The Syren's passive bonus loses the stipulation of attacking

Starting with Patch 1.2, Legends of Runeterra will follow the schedule below to ensure that PC and mobile users are seeing changes at roughly the same time.

• Tuesday (previously Mondays), ~10 AM PT
  • Patch notes article goes live (unchanged). 
• Tuesday, ~9:30-10:30 AM PT
  • We’ll deploy the new client to PC and the app stores. Players will be able to immediately update on PC, while mobile may take several hours based on your location.
  • This deployment will now be client-only, with no visible changes—think of it as the foundation for the new patch. You’ll be able to play afterwards as normal (though matchmaking will be separated by version), but functionally it’ll feel like you’re playing on the previous patch (in almost all cases).

  • We’ll push a data-only update that enables the new changes. You’ll briefly bounce to the Ashe loading screen if you’re in-client but won’t have to re-log (and games won’t be interrupted). We'll also force-update everyone to the new version—if you haven’t updated, you won’t be able to queue until you download the new version from your app store or re-log on PC.

• You cannot create a Hero Card, a Quest, or a minion which replaces your Hero (like Lord Jaraxxus)
  • These are all card types which could get their own competition - we want to focus on the Hero Powers this time
• The Hero Power your card gives you cannot be an existing one - including Basic and Upgraded Hero Powers
  • We want to see brand new ideas!
• Existing examples include Charged Hammer, Shadowform and Vilefin Inquisitor

Remember to include your Hero Power in your submission by adding it as an extra card!

The question is in the title: tell me about your favorite champs, and let's speculate what kind of cards they would be like :)

My two favorite champions are Lissandra and Leona, both of which currently do not exist in-game. Lissandra is an obvious shoe-in for the Freljord, while Leona could be included in a new Mt. Targon region. Here's something I made with the LoR card maker; it's probably woefully ill-balanced:

It's supposed to be her ultimate in card form. The Play is of course pretty powerful for getting a free turn of Attacking in, even more-so if you can play her already leveled up. However, her Level Up is hard to achieve without help from cards like Shatter. Edit: Whoops, forgot her Freljord symbol on the Level 2 version.

So we all have those decks that everyone seem to hate, Face Hunter, Pirate Warrior, Secret Mage, Big Priest, Control warrior.. but what is your most unreasonable dislike of a deck. Think of deck that other people seem to love, but you can't stand. 

For me, it's Burglar Rogue, thief rogue call it whatever you want, but no deck in the game frustrates me as much as this one. Maybe it is the weapon? Or maybe it's the asspulling of answers that annoys me, who knows..

My rework of Vi would be to change her text to "I have +2|+0 for each Fleeting card you've played this game (max +8|+0)."

This would make her good in a deck built specifically around her, while making her weak without support cards. There would still be many ways to use her, such as with Bilgewater or Ionia or cards like Mechanist Zevi, but she could no longer be slotted into decks like Bannerman or Corina control that use her a just a big challenger unit. 

So I was playing earlier today, and I thought it would be interesting to make a deck that uses all the Spider cards. So I did that, and I have to say it’s a super fun deck to play. 

What do you guys think about Spider Decks?

Does anyone else cant log in on mobile ? 

Every time i open the app it asks for my email and password...after that it shows me “the free deck bug...” and says restart the application and repeats.

My fizz was recalledby my opponent, and later hit with the 2 damage piltover spell, even though I cast a spell and gave him elusive. Is this the same bug twice in a match? Are rito actually to stupid to word his description? Just need to know.

Hi all. I've had an idea to make the new non dupe rules and all these free rares being dished out as end of season rewards even better.

Wouldn't it be a good idea if, once you have all the rares available from standard expansions, you start to get awarded rares from wild expansions? The dust value is exactly the same but it continues to widen your collection, meaning that newer players get to develop their wild collection without having to commit to buying a bunch of packs.

I've had a think and can't really see much of a downside, other than that you can't stockpile duplicate cards in order to potentially cash in on balance change refunds, as many of us did recently with Priestess of Fury, Crimson Sigil Runner, etc.

So, whadda ya think?

Given that Freljord isn't a key part of any meta deck (endure spiders doesn't really count as Frelyord) I thought of some buffs that might the region more playable

Catalyst of Aeons becomes 5 Mana "Gain an empty mana gem and heal your Nexus 5. Enlightened: Draw a unit with 5+ Power"

-This change would make Catalyst a lot better once you've reached 10 mana crystals, at which point the current Catalyst becomes "5 Mana Heal 3", which is awful and game-losing. The additional heal would help Freljord stabilize against aggro better without having to run Shadow Isles.

Troop of Elnuks becomes a 4 Mana 3/3 with "Play: Draw 2 Elnuks in the top 10 cards in your deck. Give all other Elnuks everywhere +1/+1.

-This change would make Elnuk shuffle decks a possibility, because it would give them access to more card draw and would make playing a ton of Elnuks a viable strategy, as they would grow bigger and bigger. I think this version would not be able to be run without shuffle support, but if it were proven too powerful, it could be changed to draw from the top 6 cards instead.

Kindly Tavernkeeper becomes a 3 Mana 2/4 with "Play: Heal an ally or your Nexus 4."

-This would make the tavernkeeper a consideration in Freljord decks, and would help make Freljord one of the Healing Regions, which could lead to it being incorporated in some decks that would have otherwise used Shadow Isles for healing.

Entreat becomes 2 Mana "Draw a Champion. Enlightened: Give it +1|+1"

-This change buffs up Entreat just a little bit, and contributes more to the buffing and Enlightenment archetypes, which do not currently seem to be working.

Unscarred Reaver gains Challenger

This change would make it easier to enable Unscarred Reaver, and make her more powerful when she actually does get damaged. This is helpful because without Challenger Unscarred reaver can stay as a 0/3 for a really long time, and even when she does get damaged she can get killed by a 2/1, making it almost impossible to successfully attack with her. With this buff, the Scars deck could become potentially viable. This could make her too good against 1/1s, in which case her health could be reduced to 2

Tarkaz the Tribeless gains Overwhelm

-This change would make Tarkaz better by requiring your opponent to actually block him instead of just using a 1/1. This change could possibly make him too good though, in which case his health could be lowered to 7.

So what do you all think about these changes? Would it be enough to make Freljord viable, or did I miss some key cards that need to be buffed? 

I think that in order for Hearthstone to be more fun and have higher deck diversity, they need to introduce a dual-class mode. A dual-class mode allows for cards that would otherwise see absolutely no play to become a part of a viable deck. For example, the quest “The Last Kaleidosaur” was never viable, because Paladin simply didn’t possess enough buff cards. However, if Paladins were able to choose priest as a second class, they could add more buff cards and complete the quest earlier. The same goes for other archetypes like no-spell mage or or Deathrattle rogue, which could have been a lot better with access to tools from another class.

Secondly, dual-class allows for the player to choose which of the two Hero Powers they want, allowing for the creation of archetypes like Control Hunter or Aggro Priest that are limited by their Hero Power.

The Main issue with a dual-class mode is that it would remove some class identity, but as a separate optional mode I think it would open up a lot of deckbuilding possibilities and create 2 more metas for players to solve (standard and wild dual-class) which would make the game feel a lot more fresh and varied. 

Both cards are BS separately and shouldn't exist in the game, but combined they make the cheapest, most boring, skilless, frustrating, unfun, unfair, and overwall bulls--t combo in all card game history.

It is a 2 card combo that has 0 counters and can single handely win you game, you don't need to play ANY other card, just those 2 and you win the game.  Seriously, how are you supposed to deal with it? How is that fair?

I know I've seen it played in at least two of my games but I cannot find it anywhere, in my collection or on this site.

Am i the only one noticing the amount of people playing some mix of Ionia (mostly Ionia/Demacia and sometimes Ionia/PiltZaun)? Feels like they only play the game on my turn unless they're playing zed and garen, but even then, they mostly just play big buffs on them when i try to block. Is there any way to counter this with a Bilgewater deck? or is this just a true counter, or do i just have to play only Deep monsters?  I just wish i could make my Bilgewater plunder allegiance deck work but they only decks I'm seeing are boring hard counter play decks :/
