    I'm particularly interested to see whether hunter and rogue get enough spells with given schools to justify creating a janky archetype for them.

    That interests me as well. While Rogue's schools are limited, I don't think hunter's school is. Hunter's schools might be even wider than Paladin. So that worries me more because Paladins are limited to holy school mostly while Hunters can reach Fire spells with explosions and such like traps, Frost spells with attachments and Arcane spells.

    I really don't know WoW well enough but I can say that the loser in this Spell Schools case is Warrior, Paladin and Druid it seems. Warriors might have some fire spells with their Black/Red dragons but not so much. Paladins can have holy and nothing more i guess and Druids nature and Arcane with their Balance.

    I mean, it is not a Spell School but Combat Spells like Execute should have been Physical Tribe in my opinion. Also i really don't like the "Spell School" idea. It should have been just tribes instead of limiting it to the magic spells so it would be also valid for physical spells and synergies for the game.

  • I am quite happy with Spell Tribes added to the game and that brings some posibillities to the game and questions to my mind.

    I never thought that Rogues will get nature spells and then i learned that Poisons deal nature damage in WoW as a person who played WoW for a little time and it makes me ask the question that "What kind of synergy can a rogue get with nature tribe."

    I can answer this question with the bunch of existent mechanics of Hearthstone;

    1. There might be cards that discovers "Nature" spells
    2. There might be cards that discounts the mana cost of "Nature" spells.
    3. There might be cards that makes you draw "Nature" Spells or copy "Nature" spells.

    Here comes the interesting part. Since Deadly Poison is the Nature spell, Does it mean that The weapon which is buffed with Deadly Poison will deal Nature damage like WoW?
    If it is like that, it brings some opportunities to the game like Nature Resistance +X, Frost Resistance +X etc. or vice versa; Nature Vulnerability +X , Frost Vulnerability +X.

    I mean, I really don't think that will the case for the core game, it will be so complicated for it but It makes sense when there will be upcoming Mercenaries game mode. I honestly think that there might be Resistance mechanics in it.

    What do you think about it?

  • Fogsail Freebooter will be most impactful one in my opinion.

  • I am surprised about that any of the Shaman's core set spells doesn't have Frost or Fire tag. No Lava Burst, Frost Shock etc. Also it's weird to not see some Shadow Spells in Shaman's core set. We know that Shadow Shaman is a thing in lore.

    Same with Hunter. I feel like some hunter spells might have Nature tag. Dire Frenzy could be an example.

    I am also surprised that Deadly Poison has Nature tag. It seems weird but maybe they have other plans with it.

    Don't get me wrong, It is still possible that they will add those in next Core Sets like Core Set 2022 or Core Set 2023. These were just my own expectations.

    Other than that, I guess Team 5 wants to say us that; (Predictions Here)

    - We will bring Beast synergy to Druid with new expansions of this year
    - We will bring Hero Power synergy to Mage with new expansions of this year
    - We don't want to see Murlocs in Paladins and Shamans this year
    - We want to see some poisoned stuff with Rogue in new expansions
    - Ressurrect Priest won't be supported this year.

    If i suspect more, I will add here.

    In reply to Core 2021
  • It would be great if we can reach Core Set 2021 Guide Page from Expansions tab on the main page. :) I could only find it from the news pages about core sets and after they passed the 2nd page, it can't be found.

    I don't know that if you are planning to add new tabs about upcoming changes as "Core Sets" , "Hearthstone Mercanaries" etc. but I only wanted to say it isn't easy to find right now.

    Keep up the good work with the site. It is the best in the web! Cheers ! :)

  • oh, so now we got spell tribes aswell ?

    That was one of my expansion ideas before we all were in pwn but i had imagined it like class specializations; for example Balance Druid.

    But i really liked it this way. So, I wonder we will get all of them or those will be spared to whole year. Also I wonder how they will tribe combat related spells like Execute. Physical maybe ?

    And I liked how Spell Damage also affected from it. Nature Spell Damage or Shadow Spell Damage seems cool and opens some space for deckbuilding.

    Other than that, I'm happy to see a real Warcraft related expansion and expecting better direction with new core set stuff.

    I'm happy with what I saw today.

  • Secret lovers wants 0-cost spells now.

  • Blizzard loves eternity.

  • I was expecting that Yrel would be no-neutral card after we saw almost all of Draenei's are also no-neutral cards.

    Great job on this little project you have going. You are proving the power of random level 2 champions pretty effectively.

    You're also playing The Howling Abyss completely correctly - it belongs in a heavy control shell for sure.

    Yeah, it looks like it does its job in a control archetype but honestly I am thinking of a deck like a Zoo Lock from Hearthstone that contains Arch-Villain Rafaam.

    I mean, force your opponent with your aggro and whenever you lack sources for finish the game or when it is the correct time, drop The Howling Abyss for level 2 champions. It might be a Braum/Poro deck like this one;

    But well, Braum has some trouble against Tahm Kench right now, so I don't really know. Maaybe another aggro deck with The Howling Abyss might be better but I can't think of one right now.

    Almaniarra! Good to see you posting here again! It's been a while; I was afraid we'd lost you. <3

    We all have some RL challenges so I was some busy moments for a while :) Thanks for kind reply. <3

  • This is the 2nd deck that I built today which built-around The Howling Abyss.

    And this is my luckiest moment with this deck for now.

    Jokes/Memes aside.  While I understand the premise of going Ionia (easy access to Deny, will of ionia, etc) it's regional power being used as a fallback option undermines the deck's meme-worthiness.

    Also the deck loses outright to landmark removal or karma removal.  To me Targon seems like a good natural pairing, and I'm sure other regions would have some viability as well.

    Well, I'm trying to protect Karma with stuns + random spells + Will of Ionia and for targon's landmark, Singular Will is doing the job for me and I'm trying to recall it before it reaches 22 or whenever it reaches 22 before the turn's end. Other than that, It doesn't help for other landmarks but it always lags your opponent enough tbh.

    I didn't call the deck would be succesful tho. It is just a meme and fun to play. :)

  • Hello guys, with The Howling Abyss came, i've found my ultimate meme card in Runeterra. Even tho i'm concerning that Runeterra is going in the same way with Hearthstone with upcoming RNG cards like The Howling Abyss -of course-, Celestials, Egghead Researcher etc. I always find fun to play the cards like The Howling Abyss. Anyways; that's not the topic right now.

    After playing bunch of games with The Howling Abyss, I thought that it might be fun to share some screenshots here with each other and opened this thread. So;

    Let's share our luckiest moments with The Howling Abyss and how we became successful to play ARAM in LoR with the decks you use to experience that moment.

    I'm playing this deck right now;

    and this is my luckiest moment for now;

    And this might be kind of lucky;

    This should have been burst to see play.

    What would that change

    You will be able to attack after using this for a slow spell.

  • This should have been burst to see play.

  • Finally a Rexxar with an axe instead of a Bow.

  • I mean, remember how frustrating to play against 5x Ice Block mage ?

    Same thing for Runeterra right now. I don't have any problem with playing against unknown resources, My problem is 5x Obliterates and such and pool is so limited which means you always have higher chances to get what you want 5x.

    There is maximum card limit while deckbuilding for a reason and this mechanic abuses it and I don't think this is a healthy one. Like how Nab wasn't.

  • Hello Guys !

    After I've tried so much decks, combinations and cards, I just wanted to share the decks that I most enjoyed.

    There should have been more decks that I brewed and tried but some got unsuccessful and others are just shared already by other forum users and played/crafted already by streamers. So I've brought these to your attention.

    These are the ones that passed just my personal success tests around 10-20 games. Other decks that I brewed couldn't make their place here.

    If you want some different approach from streamer decks or don't have the specific cards for them, you might want to check these out. I don't claim these decks are wonderful but I enjoyed enough so wanted to share them with you.

    And If you like the deck, don't forget to check the deck's link because i have wrote some explanations to the guide section of them.

    Some of them are not refined enough and needs some replacements probably. So if you have any advices, just suggest them here and we will make them better !

    and Here they are;
