Pulled Nozdormu the Timeless from a pack yesterday. Since I'm still looking for Frizz and Ysera 2.0, I might yet get some packs and so haven't dusted it for now. So I created a new deck with only Nozdormu in it, pressed autocomplete and went to the ladder on rank 12.
In both of the first two games I managed to pull it off on turn 4 with a bunch of secrets active. On both occasions I ran into a Res Priest who kept spamming Zilliaxes / Convincing Infiltrators. Conceded on 8 in both games. I hate this archetype so much.
I don't think this will see much play. Could be interesting in tournaments though - nobody expects you to run that one. Might find a spot in control decks, just like Gnomeferatu.
I would really like to have them skip the reveals once in a while. Keep those cards a secret and let the players figure out new decks on release. This would be way more fun than having the pros put OP decks together way before the actual fun begins and most everyone else netdecking those. Maybe that would be too much with a whole expansion of 100+ cards, but with a smaller amount like this it would absolutely be possible.
I can only repeat myself - my favorite series on the site at the moment. Well written and really educational!
A few days ago, I couldn't find the time to do my daylies and let my son play 3 games in casual. We purchased a card pack from the gold he earned and pulled Goru :D I have been running it in a typical token druid deck with 2x savage roar with moderate succes so far, but surely will give your build a try.
Last but not least, I don't think the nerfs will impact the succes of the deck much. Pirate Warrior didn't get hit very hard, Quest Priest and highlander hunter not at all. What happens to Gala Lock and Warrior remains to be seen...
Thanks for the great article!
Edit: also thanks for the Witcher throwback! #teamtriss
I'm really glad they were this gentle with Ancharrr. I don't think pirate warrior will survive long in standard, but I want to play it in wild and there it relies heavily on this card. Mana increase would have killed it. Now it is still playable, there are enough wapon buff cards around to circumvent the nerf.
Pirate Warrior in wild won't feel that mild nerf, since you have many ways to keep upgrading the weapon. Also, you don't rely so much on it. There are many other powerful cards that synergize with pirates... it will still be a high tier deck.
That was the point I was trying to make: this nerf is a good one for wild Pirate Warrior, because increasing the mana cost would have been far worse.
I have a different opinion concerning the value of ancharrr in wild PW though. In my experience, I usually have a strong start with lots of synergies, just like you said. But around turn 4/5 I'm runnng out of steam and warrior doesn't have good draw cards. Acolyte of Pain is way too clunky for wild PW so a weapon (read: more SMORC) which draws (read: tutors) exactly the cards I want is a gamechanger for me. So much that I always keep it in my mulligan. I'm not much into hearthstone statistics, but I'm sure winrate precentage when played is pretty high on this one. And since they didn't touch its cost, that probably won't change.
So it's either a stealth minion or a shifting one like Chameleos or Shifter Zerus and it has something to do with Angry Chicken... I can't come up with something that includes both those qualities. I guess Dozing Marksman though. He's silent because he's asleep and his effect is close to the chickens.
Yes, that's all correct :-)
No, sorry.
Nope, but close in several places.
Here comes our next candidates tinder-bio! Would you swipe right?
Hot guy with a long tail is looking for a proud maid with cheap treats to destroy our enemies up to two at a time.
Oh my god. Now I get it. I misread Skydiving Instructor, it doesn't draw, but summon. Just leave me here.
Riftcleaver
Really nice idea, well done!
Deleted because of paramount stupidity.
Yes! You're next.
Alright, here's an easy one:
I'm a staple, I'm tier 1
Many games I have single-handedly won
Some people call me a spell on a stick
Surprising opponents gives me the kick
Sometimes I f* up Anduin without a single whack
If nothing else I provide you with a snack
Please don't send me to the hall of fame
Cause without me Hearthstone would be way too tame
Is it Treespeaker?
When it's time to rumble - it's a card from Rastakhan's Rumble
I won't ever mumble. - it's a treeSPEAKER, no mumbling here
My power creates mighty out of that which was humble, - buffing the treants into ancients
And before you leave your enemies will crumble! - no hint here, but "leave" is close to "leaf" which fits the druid theme

Sorry, it was such a bad guess that I deleted it.
I second ArngrimUndyings reasoning for a HoF-card. My guess is Old Murk-Eye, who needs other murlocs to be effective.
Go ahead!

Haven't Second Dinner put a hiring ad out on twitter one of these days?

Can we get another hint please?
