Fantastic card all around. Really versatile since it's only 5 mana and looks like 8 of the 9 upgraded spells are cheaper than 5 mana as well so I can almost see this as kind of a "proto-Zephrys the Great" where you're going to be able to play your answer immediately in most cases. I will definitely craft my Highlander Mage if I don't pull organically.
This seems so situational. I can see this in Wild Odd Hunter, but beyond that very niche deck I don't see how it will fit into the current Hunter meta.
Excellent card for either Dragon Hunter or Spell Hunter. I expect this is going to be the next Animal Companion where 95% of Hunter decks are going to find a use for this.
This is my Most Underestimated card right now. Statline + poison is great on its face, plus discover might give you Emeriss or Carrion Drake or any of the other really great-looking Dragons out already. Can't wait to build my Poisonous Dragon Hunter deck!
Good for Secret Highlander Hunter or Wild Even Hunter. Only thing that give me pause in Standard is you can't play until turn 4 to get a single free Secret - that's a little late for a 2/3 minion if your opponent has any kind of board already.
Super strong in Wild Even Hunter (obviously) but seems very playable in Standard considering how many supporting cards they're printing for "Inspire Hunter" in DoD (plus Blackwald Pixie is still around for another 4 months)
Think this will be strong in general, but will really shine in Highlander Druid. I can also see this being excellent in Wild Taunt Druid since there's already so much dragon synergy in what that deck was when it was Standard.
Absolutely fantastic card. This will be auto-include in all Druid decks since it's a pre-nerf Wild Growth with draw too. I expect even if Dragon Druid doesn't take off, you'll see at least a dragon or two get thrown into most decks as a trigger
It's the new mechanic: Invoke. Use a card with that keyword twice and you upgrade "Basic" Galakrond to "Medium". Invoke twice more and you get "Final" form.
I tried so hard to make Dragon Warrior work during RR and it just never got there, much to my bitter disappointment. I really think DoD is going to make that deck truly meta-viable and I'm pumped - there's just so many better dragons for War Master Voone to copy just on what's already revealed (not to mention Dragon Roar, Smolderthorn Lancer, and Emberscale Drake now having more to work with) PLUS we haven't seen what Warrior Galakrond is...
I know Battlegrounds just dropped (and i'm definitely enjoying it) but I really hope they keep up on the FREQUENT tweaking/adding/removing minions and heroes. It took less than 1 week for BG to get "solved" i.e. full mech/beast with poisonous Amalgam or 2 so if Blizz let's the game sit it's going to get super dull and repetitive pretty quickly.
I'm optimistic though based on how much they're doing now; just aware that they can't be as hands off as they are with Standard (or even worse, Wild) and expect the mode to survive.
How would we ensure the reverse for the competitive players? Keeping meme decks off the ladder.
"Oh well that's different because my meme deck doesn't have a high win-rate and it's more satisfying when I win versus your competitive deck."
But that could have been another competitive player that I beat instead of being the unfortunate soul that was the 10% chance of you pulling off your memory.
"Why can't they test decks on ladder?"
Why can't you keep your meme decks off ladder? It took me a long time to force myself to power through what I call "meme 15" because of all the memes and jank.
I play ladder to win and encounter ridiculous decks there and it's just uuuggghhh.
I might as well be playing casual so I switch to casual because I'm going to run into memes/jank anyway so what difference does it make?
I've found a sweet spot between 10-5 and I've made it to Wild R8 (I only play Wild) so far. I think it's only fair: if you want competitive decks out of casual, then keep your memes/jank out off the ladder.
What are you doing there? You HAD to have been playing at least semi-competitively to get there in the FIRST place, right?
As for TRUE casuals that strictly play casual, more power to you! I do have ONE deck I play in casual occasionally to blow off steam but it's not completely done. (Missing Velen)
Other than that, I'm on ladder 99% of the time I play. I understand your frustration and I think it's only fair you understand mine as well. Nothing feels worse than being proud of my plays just to lose because you happened to assemble all the pieces for your shenanigans.
Not being snarky; legit curious since I know everyone's local meta is different: what % (ballpark) do you really see meme decks on the ladder? Because while this is a totally fair point I agree with (that memes should stay in Casual AND meta stay on the ladder), if 40% of Casual is metadecks vs 5% of the ladder is memes (which is roughly my experience), then those problems are not really analogous, right? You go to the hospital to get your broken finger reset AND that bullet hole in your lung stitched up, but one of those is just a little more "problematic" than the other...
I also think you stating that you only play Wild is a factor there - I also play a lot of Wild and frankly there are just so many more "meme" decks that are ALSO really meta-competitive/good (any of the Mage OTKs, Mechathun Warlock, etc) so the line blurs there a lot more than Standard.
I think Rogue Galakrond might finally be what makes me craft Heistbaron Togwaggle. I've been having so much fun with Burgle Rogue that I've never made an effort with the (obviously strong) lackey-focused Tempo Rogue. But with Invoke/GK's hero power you're going to have a DISGUSTING amount of lackeys - it would be almost impossible not to get obscene value out of Togwaggle.
ETA: Thanks a ton for that flavor text on Seal Fate - now I've got that song stuck in my head and it won't come out...
Same here. Re-rolling a 60 typically results in another 60g quest. As someone else who also runs alt accounts to generate additional 80g quests for my main account, this makes clearing dailies much easier, so I'm generally happy with the change.
However, while I've had a couple of 80g quests offered, I have yet to re-roll into a 80g quest. Just curious - has anyone here re-rolled a quest and got an 80g?
How are you rerolling 60g quests into more 60g quests? Blizzard specifically said in the 15.6 patch they were changing that:
Daily quests have also been split into two buckets: Easy (50g) and Slightly More Difficult (60g). Rerolling a Slightly More Difficult (60g) quest (like Play 10 Beasts) will always give you an Easy (50g) quest, so you can get Easy quest every day if you’d like.
I also have only gotten I think 1 50g (offset by getting a 100g which was great) - the rest have been the 60g so very nice to stock up on gold before DoD launches!

Meme OTK in WIld:
Play this, get to two HP uses before turn 10.
Turn 10:
2 mana HP to summon the three gnomes, 4 mana Necromechanic, then 2 mana Feign Death x2 = 10 mana & 26 dmg.
With EITHER coin or Emperor Thaurissan hitting literally any one piece of the combo, you can add in 1 Play Dead for full OTK.

Seems very meme-y. I expect you might see it discovered from Emerald Explorer but I can't see it being included in constructed.
Is this retroactive i.e. if we vote/comment on cards already revealed do those count as entries?

I like you call it "that particular movie" haha. Joel Schumacher is history's greatest villain and his "works" are those of the devil!
Also for a pallet-cleanser, here's Seal getting attacked by wolves:

Oh right I always forget: small, indie company lol
