  • Scholomance legendaries but not packs?

Well, what shenanigans do we have here this time.

  • On the remark of why lifecoach quit hearthstone, I think he made a video summing it up. I watched it like 2 years back;

    - He didn't like the rng direction of hearthstone, which he felt was catering to casuals than pros

    - He didn't like that its not about pure skill. He did some sort of weird 10 hr day for a month (might be 2 weeks, correct me if im wrong) playing with superjj (how many people remember this guy?) and found his winrate to be at most 60% no matter what he did (no elaboration on that)

    - He wanted a game that challenges his mind. And he thought hearthstone wasn't that

I do recall him hyping The Marsh Queen to high heaven before reality hit him square in the jaw. It wasn't that the reward was bad, it was simply hunter sucking at what marsh queen needed it to do; play control. Hunter couldn't heal, so most of the time they just die by turn 5, cause all they did was play 1 drops and there wasn't any way to get board back.

If only Toxmonger was 2 mana 1/2 right?

  • Many of the usual traits of poor cards;

    - Cost over 6 and has no taunt or rush, and the effect doesn't win you the game

    - Trying to make hunter any other archetype other than aggro or midrange

    - Trying to make priest a tempo class (cross my fingers its going to work this time)

    - Good cards that can only be good in a poor deck

    - Inconsistent

I fall to many of the same hype traps myself. Unfortunately, its sometimes difficult to remember that a good majority of standard games will probably be against some form of aggro deck.

  • I think we can accept that mage don't draw that well, so there are certain decks which Cram Session and Arcane Intellect can both be acceptable inclusions, so a direct comparison may not always be appropriate. I can see there being some sort of a build around with the current cyclone giants mage, where consistency is a real issue since Mountain Giants are no longer available.

Speaker Gidra, Robes of Protection and Troublemaker at 4 stars? Fishy Flyer at 2 stars? Can't say I'm in complete agreement.

Secret Passage is deservedly number 1 of all the cards. The fact that this allows you to dig up resources, allows you to keep any extra generated/drawn cards, and is only 1 mana is completely nuts. The only deck that will not be running this would be galakrond rogue.

I think Speaker Gidra has been overhyped, Walking Fountain this ain't.

It comes out way earlier than Walking Fountain, and provides some support for druid and control shaman against midrange minions. Its flexibility is the real power of this card, and for that its high on the charts for me. I wouldn't be surprised if this features in every druid deck until it rotates from standard.

  • Glide has to compete with Skull of Gul'dan in an aggressive deck, and that's why I personally think its not going to slot in. I am interested, and will very likely try day one, to fit both into control dhunter. I feel that glide, controversial as it may be, will eventually turn out quite mellow in an aggro deck, since its still a 4 mana card, and that's quite a lot considering how tempo dhunters plays nowadays. Its best use is actually in slower dhunter decks, where denying combo and control is more useful.

  • Just want to mention that Captain Greenskin has a slight niche over the doctor in that you dont need a minion on your opponent's end to upgrade your weapon. So if theres no minions, or if the only minion is big, then Doctor Krastinov would just be straight up worse than greenskin.

Also greenskin's a pirate, so there's that too.

  • Don't know about you guys, but sometimes hearthstone gets these minor strokes that my game would pause slightly every move I make and needless to say have costed me some games. Doesn't happen that often, but when it does happen I have to steadfastly remind myself that I paid lots of money for my keyboard.

Hopefully these hotfixes does something to alleviate that.

Battlegrounds have been a resounding success and is popular now, can they please have their own servers blizz?

  • Tempo mage, aggro rogue,Totem shaman, control dhunter, beast hunter, libram paladin, soul frag warlock

Depends on what epic cards I get. I don't usually start wasting my dust on day one, and I might change my opinion depending on the theorycrafting stream.

  • Blood Herald's neither a beast nor demon.

Helpless Hatchling not being a dragon and now this.

Maybe its a mistake. Risky Skipper was very nearly not a pirate too. Shows how arbitry the gods are in Azeroth.

  • Just a little extra info on Demon Companion, which Im sure many would already have noticed; their names are actually anagrams of the original 3 Animal Companions.

Kolek's actually the better of the three honestly. There's plenty of situations where you'd appreciate an additional attack per minion and this one's only 1 mana. Too bad Reffuh only deals 2 damage and dies to a ping. Shima's a good solid card, but on mid-late game its perhaps too much to ask of a 2/2 with taunt to make much difference.

Draws you cards and if you have a 5 damage weapon then this is free.

Yes, this is good. Yes this will go into all aggro rogue/warrior decks. But will it ever go anywhere else? That's another question. Risky Skipper combo is still here and not going anywhere, and rogue still has cards like Dirty Tricks and [Hearthstone Card (greyheart) Not Found] sage to do the same thing.

Perhaps next year this will truly shine. Until then, I cant see Risky Skipper making way for this, so its strictly going to aggro pirate warrior and little else.

I really can't get it why there are comments like this. It is like we have a tournement format while playing on ladder and we have a limitation to build only one deck with a class.

It doesn't mean that some viable class decks outclass the other. There might be different viable archetypes for a class and that doesn't mean they are outclassing each other.

Risky Skipper combo is a different thing, this card's support is different. You might want to climb ladder with that deck, someone wants to play warrior but with different archetype.

Don't act like there "should" or "have to" be only one archetype of deck for each class in the meta.

If you have said that some existing cards outclass this one for target archetype like " Why would i use Self-Sharpening Sword while i can use Hooked Scimitar or Waggle Pick" I could understand tho. But you are comparing different type of cards for different archetypes.

I dont get this response. Its not as though as Im shitting on any particular deck or archetype. And its not like I'm saying or implying that one deck trumps the other. All that was said was that I dont see this going anywhere except aggro decks for both rogue and warrior.

I think this is the best Studies card. Rush is such a powerful mechanic, and there are so many good rush minions (and yes, a bunch of bad ones). Am I correct in recalling that Discover effects favor class cards over neutrals? If so, your chances of getting something awesome like Restless Mummy or Kargath Bladefist are increased.

No. You no longer get that increased chance for class cards in discovers. Gone since Uldum when it was apparent that shaggy was getting warrior too many copies of himself and Armagedillos.

  • Likely its an event thing and not an achievement or otherwise it'll be skins for all classes.

The real question is what will happen if you play Illucia after they have played Illucia? does the deck permanently switch now?

    How would you do that?

    1. You play Illucia. You have your opponents hand now. Unless he is a priest with Illucia in hand, you cannot do play her again.

Its just a question. Obviously in most circumstances you're pretty helpless.

Priest has plenty of generation cards, so you stand a chance to get it via rng.

  • But that will also at very least give them a turn with their own cards and deck, so they can react appropriately like playing togwaggle, leaving you with your own deck but not with the means to change it back.

That is, if you're not already dead before next turn arrives.

  •  There's actually plenty of reason to play this card actually. Its a decent 3/1 that will most certainly kill something near turns 3-4. And you can do so again.

Maybe in rogue, hunter, aggro decks in general. But its otherwise not really that great.

  • Smug in life, smug at death.

Pretty nice taunt for 6. But in hearthstone constructed you have to be more than just pretty nice to make the cut.

Unfortunately, this is just decent. Average. Nothing more nothing less.

  • I guess the idea is that this card can make up as a counter to mage and shaman. But its still a little too slow, and mage can even take advantage of this by filling your board and Frost Nova to deny you any plays and then play Sea Giant while they're on it as well.

Aside from this, its just garbage
