Those are pretty solid legendaries for a beginner, congrats! Ysera usually only fits in slower decks but can be very good if used well, while Brightwing can be tossed into any deck and be pretty decent.

And like adityajibhkate said, never disenchant legendaries even if they seem/are useless, becauseL

    1. you can't open duplicate legendaries, so opening a bad one means you won't be getting that same bad one again. If you disenchant it however, you can get it again and if you do you will net a dust loss of -1200 (since crafting a legendary costs 1600 dust, but disenchanting it will only give you 400 dust).

    2. there are a lot of legendaries that can become useful once new cards are released.

@YourPrivateNightmare : so you want those 12(the video didn't include Brightwing) cards to be viable? I actually highlighted it because I believe people put too much weight into legendaaries, you know how warrior could be nerfed harder than nerfing boom? nerfing Eternium Rover 1 mana 1/3 premium stats it's a mech so it has rush late game and magnetic and really powerful passive, this card would be played just if it was a 1/3 mech for 1 or if it costed 2 mana, but it wasn't nerfed although it's the reason why warrior is so strong in the early game, why wasn't it nerfed? cause the community only remembers losing to boom or galaxy but losing to a 1 drop that shut down your aggro plan by removing 2 tokens and gaining 2~4 armor? nah.

I disagree that so many of the classic legendaries should remain as they are now. Opening a legendary card and playing with it should be one of the most exciting parts of Hearthstone, but many new players will be disappointed with their first and possibly second, third, etc. legendaries because not only are many of them useless, many have such boring effects that many rare cards nowadays are more exciting. Compare for example Gruul, Hogger, The Beast, King Mukla, Illidan Stormrage and Nat Pagle to cards like Dune Sculptor, Expired Merchant, Underbelly Angler and Kirin Tor Tricaster.

@DoubleSummon You're making some good arguments but I think you're also overanalyzing some parts of the video that probably aren't meant to be taken too seriously (like the bugs and otk stuff).

You're also right about the devs not having control over everything, but I used the word devs since I don't really know how to address the people who are responsible for all the economic stuff. I'll mention it in an edit in my original post.

Just saw this amazing video on youtube and I think this is definitely something people in the Hearthstone community and the devs themselves need to see. Other than getting a good laugh out of it, it actually brings up a lot of good points as well:

Don't get me wrong, I love Hearthstone (otherwise I wouldn't spend so much time on a website like this), but this video really made me realize how much can easily be improved with very little effort if the devs would be willing. Maybe if they see this video they might get the idea to at least do something? Probably not, but one can dream.

Edit: I used 'devs' for lack of a better word (if anyone knows one please say so :p) but I don't only mean the game developers, since they don't have control over everything, but also the people responsible for things like the economic part of the game.

I love the nerf to Barnes. It's pretty fair. I was just thinking that if they nerf it to 6 Mana, it will kill the card as it is a Neutral card and it's usage is not just in Big Priest.

Even the idea of an Actor token won't work cos it is still turn 4/3 big minion cos it is too early and too fast for the opponent to handle. Hence, the only logical way to nerf it is a 1 Mana increase to 5 Mana.

This would at least prevent the early turn 4/3 auto-concede moment that isn't super frustrating to deal with.

I glad Blizzard did not kill the card like how they killed Naga Seawitch and kept the design of the card.

Sure Resurrect mechanics may still pose a problem. At least now, Big Priest will feel less of a gamble and more like a control greedy deck. Well done!

Your explanation for why the actor idea won't work doesn't make sense. The reason Barnes is insane in big priest is not that he summons a 1/1 with a strong effect, it's that that summoned 1/1 can be resurrected over and over as a huge minion with a strong effect. Removing the ability to resurrect the summoned minion would have changed a turn 4 Barnes into just a good play instead of a game winning play (except if they pull Y'shaarj, in which case they're just lucky), while at the same time letting Barnes be just as effective in non-resurrect decks.

Edit: Forgot to say that the actor nerf would also dilute the resurrect pool, making it even more effective as a targeted nerf to big priest, and in addition it is very flavourful as well.

I really hope the nerf to Extra Arms isn't true.  It was my favorite card from the Boomsday Buffs, going from unplayable garbage, to a strong card that could fit a variety of synergies ranging from Eggs to Miracle decks.

Reverting the card to 3 mana essentially deletes it and just makes these few months with it at 2 mana feel like a tease.

I agree, whether they want to admit it or not, the reason cheap buff cards like Extra Arms can be a problem is the existence of 1-drops like Northshire Cleric that are basically impossible to  kill when played on turn 1. I would also be hesitant to nerf northshire cleric, but I think it might be the right long term decision although they might have to give priest some other playable early drops to compensate.

    So.. What's the OTK?

    1. Use Smuggler's Crate and Emeriss to buff the Dispatch Kodo and use the Scarlet Webweaver to reduce its cost to 0.

    2. Use Hunting Party (possibly in combination with Zul'jin) to get more copies of it.

    3. Unleash the SMOrc.

Option 1 and 2 are a bit unclear to me, what do you mean by 'examples'?

Anyway, I disenchant cards that I think are very unlikely to get nerfed. I like to keep golden cards but I'm also not afraid to disenchant them if I really need the dust, especially if I'm not impressed by the animation.

Edit: forgot to say that I (almost) never disenchant cards if I don't have two copies of it (or one for legendaries).

Opened 91 packs and got 11 legendaries. Most insane luck I've ever had in my pack openings.

    From login and preorder:

    Bazaar Burglary

Zephrys the Great (golden) (what makes my luck even more insane is that this was on the top of my to craft list)

    From packs:

    Corrupt the Waters

    Dark Pharaoh Tekahn

    Vessina (golden)

    Sir Finley of the Sands

    Octosari

    Making Mummies

    Anka, the Buried

    Supreme Archaeology

    Reno the Relicologist

    Untapped Potential

    High Priest Amet

I believe it works as follows:

Cards keep enchantments when they move 'forward' e.g. when going from deck to hand/board, or from hand to board.

On the contrary, cards lose enchantments when they move 'backward' e.g. when going from board to hand/deck, or from hand to deck.

Hope that makes it easier to remember. :)

It's not that I don't like it, I just wasn't expecting it to be so simple, especially since I saw at least one designer saying that the rogue quest was their favorite. Really? This is more interesting than the priest or druid quest?

I agree. Strong or not, this quest seems pretty boring compared to the other ones.

I don't know, the slime left behind by sludge belcher having 2 health was always a pretty big deal since it couldn't die to basic hero powers.

Elise the Enlightened because I can't begin to imagine all of the crazy combos she enables, plus I think it will be an interesting challenge to try to make highlander druid work in both standard and wild. I also really like that she can be useful in different types of highlander decks, and not just malygos (highlander) druid for example.

Sorry, your dream would have been awesome but I guess it's better to know beforehand that it probably doesn't work instead of wasting all your dust on crafting the cards only to be disappointed afterwards.

Are you sure Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron works with Raid the Sky Temple? As in does it count as 10 spell casts?

    Hearthstone logic:

    Murloc on a scarab(?) -> 2/3

Dwarf on a huge carnivorous dinosaur -> 2/4

Also, I'm pretty sure Elise is now officially the most reoccurring character in Hearthstone. She has three cards of her own, is a playable hero, is the main character in a trailer (un'goro) and is also present on the card art of the last kaleidosaur (and possibly others I'm forgetting). All that is missing is a hero card and maybe a spell with her name in it.

    1. Make it impossible to open duplicate epics until all epics of a set are owned, like how this currently works for legendaries. Epics are very expensive to craft, especially when 2 copies are needed, and it sucks to open duplicate epics.

An alternative to this wish would be implementing better disenchant values, especially for wild cards.

    2. Give us more incentive to play using more quests, achievements and unlockables. Right now daily quests are the only thing that feels rewarding for me.

    3. Implement more game modes. My first choice would be a mode with rotating sets.

I would like to see a format with rotating sets, the included sets should be changed after a set period of time (maybe a month, maybe multiple months, but not longer than that).

I would also love to have a custom format in which you can set up games yourselves and choose your own rulesets (and maybe choose from tavern brawl rulesets as well?). You could of course allow other players to join, or make it private to friends only. I don't think this will ever happen but one can dream.
