I would first remove overwhelm because it doesn't even suit him that well thematically and removing it won't hit him too hard. If that's not enough (which it probably isn't) I would say either a small stat nerf (-1 attack or -1 health) or reducing the stats of the spectral riders to 2/2 (although this does remove the consistency between Hecarim's riders and the riders summoned by Onslaught of Shadows.

And I agree that The Rekindler can be pretty dumb as well. I think a 1 mana increase would be a step in the right direction.

do i just craft the mushroom cloud deck?  that seems to always win.  is that any good?  i dont think it's my play style but i am running out of patience.  I will play anything that can actually win and not require lucky topdecks.

Again, I'm far from the best person to point out what is meta and what isn't, but I'm pretty sure mushroom cloud decks are pretty bad except against control decks. Since control decks want to draw a lot of cards, those poison puffcaps screw them over. So if you're facing a lot of control decks and you're fine with spending the amount of resources you need, I'd say go ahead and plant some mushrooms.

Wasnt this supposed to be the hearthstone salt thread? And not the runeterra one?

Well, as far as I know there is no salt thread for LoR, so it makes sense that LoR frustration is posted here as well.

Also, I really don't get why this would ever be a problem to anyone. It's not like people are shitposting or interrupting in a relevant or unrelated forum thread, they are shitposting in a thread that is specifically made for shitposts.

And I get that some people are trying to help other people who seem overly frustrated because of a card game, but that's not what most of those frustrated people are here for. They just need a place where they can let go of their frustration without other people telling them that they should calm down or play something else.

I'm far from an expert on what is currently meta in LoR, but as far as I know Yasuo decks are not that good right now. It all depends on whether you draw your key cards (mainly Yasuo) and if the opponent can answer your Yasuo. If they can, you probably lose, and if they can't, you probably win.

I think some of the strongest decks right now are control decks, like P&Z + Freljord using either Heimerdinger or Ezreal. However, I think aggro shadow isles decks are still pretty good and those might be a good option for low level climbing.

Of course, remember that this is still a card game and sometimes (or often, depending on your luck) you just can't win a game no matter what you do. And believe me, there are enough times where I would do well to remember that myself. :)

Thanks for all the feedback, I was uncertain if I was gonna get flamed or not, glad to see I am not alone in this. I am used to Riot not having the best reputation for clarity, but I think when you are updating a cards text to try and make it more clear and you make it even LESS clear, then you need to hire a new team.... either way, thanks for the responses guys.

Well, I would say hiring an entirely new team just because they screwed up trying to improve the card text of a single card is a bit extreme, but they should definitely improve or at least revert the card text change in a future patch.

I agree, they also didn't properly explain this "change" in the patch notes.

I'm mostly happy with the patch changes, although I have a feeling that Rhasa and Ledros will still be stupid strong.

Was also very surprised at the hefty buff to Jeweled Protector - total stats of 7/7 for 5 mana seems a bit crazy (I would've reduced the hand buff to +2/+3, myself). I might just pick him back up for my control deck.

I absolutely agree about Ledros. The fact that simply playing him over and over can no longer win the game is a big deal, but I still think he should be a Champion.

Jeweled Protector is still fine because it gives away information. Knowing there's a fatty in the works can make a big difference in how the opponent plays.

Yeah so I just played against the nerfed Ledros but the damage is still rounded up, so unfortunately he can still kill you if you're at 1 health. :(

    My thoughts:

    • We're not going to see any substantial buffs or reworks yet, just because most people are still missing A LOT so many archetypes and power combos just haven't been discovered yet.  Like you mention not seeing Lux: well, she needs spells to work and most players only have the single free copy of her anyways so they aren't going to play her.  I think Heimer would be in the same boat except some streamer popularized that "400 IQ" deck that countered the elusive decks really well so people crafted towards that.
    • Mark of the Isles is totally getting hit: either increasing mana from 1 to 2 or decreasing effect from +3 to +2.  It probably also shouldn't give any HP at all--that's only to relevant when combo'ing with Mark, and that's way too high-rolly to properly balance.
    • Kinkou Lifeblade from a 2/3 to a 2/2 or maybe even a 2/1.  Having an elusive lifesteal is fine, but you HAVE to give opponents a chance to remove it and there's a huge difference between 2 HP and 3 HP.
    • I'd also like to see Dawnspeakers changed from 1/4 to 0/3 for similar reasons.  Most other "backline" units like Phantom Prankster, Rimetusk Shaman, Puffcap Peddler, and Soul Shepherd only have 3 HP, and I don't like that they made this card an exception.
    • Something to either increase the cost or decrease the stats that Wraith Caller, Hecarim, and/or Shark Chariot put into play.

Completely agree with all of these points. And to back up your first point, I would personally love to play a Heimerdinger and/or Lux (and/or Karma) deck, but they are among the six champions that I haven't gotten any copies of yet, so of course I'm not going to be able to play a deck centered around them.

I think I would remove fearsome from him. Right now you're totally screwed if you don't have high attack minions because all your opponent has to do is play Ledros and attack with him to deal a minimum of 18 damage in a minority of situations (your nexus has 18+ health) or just kill you in all the rest. That is just too much for one epic card. And then there's the combo with Atrocity which you can only prevent with Deny or by killing Ledros with fast and/or burst spells.

Actually there are many cards that say "when I am summoned" they all act the same way when revived or generated in any way... Maybe there's a deck that capitalize on this further, other than dawn spiders

Happened to me in expeditions, Chronicler of Ruin killed off The Rekindler and when it came back it brought the Champion as well. Disgusting to say the least :D Chronicler of Ruin is quickly becoming one of the most annoying cards to play against for me. Always brings my opponent tremendous value.

Damn, that is quite a disgusting interaction indeed. And here I thought The Rekindler was already really strong (possibly too strong) by itself lol.

This just happened when my opponent played The Harrowing against me:

Since three Chump Whumps where among the revived cards, they also got six Mushroom Clouds. At first I thought it was a bug, but after looking into it I found out it's supposed to happen since Chump Whump's card text says "when I'm summoned, create two mushroom cloud in hand" and not "play: create two mushroom cloud in hand". I decided to share it here since this is actually a really cool interaction with The Harrowing that a lot of players probably aren't aware of (It was also quite scary, since I had very few cards left in my deck when this happened).

IF Riot will refund anything, I would expect DoubleSummon being right (nerfed cards get converted into wild cards). This would be nice, but I would not be too surprised if nerfs won't give any kind of refunds. They plan on implementing balance changes every two weeks, which I think means that a lot of cards have a high chance of eventually being nerfed or buffed, and that they will try to keep the nerfs and buffs as small as possible. This would result in balance patches just being a source of free resources, which is not what balance patches should be about. However, since converting nerfed cards into wild cards ends up being the same in terms of total resources, I think this is the most likely form of refunds we might get.

Btw you are right about League of Legends, players don't get anything if a champion they own/play is nerfed. This makes sense though, since balance patches are very frequent and there are a lot of players who own most champions (+there are a looot of champions), meaning that nerf refunds would just be more free stuff in an already free to play friendly game.

^Title. I'm not saying I'm close to doing this at all (I've currently only gotten all of the rewards for one region) but I'm just curious. It may not be relevant right now but eventually there will probably be quite a lot of people who will have completed all of the regions and even if there will be new ones, Riot can't add regions forever. And if those people also get their vault to lvl 13 in a week, it will result in any experience earned being useless.

I think a solution could be to add continuous region rewards for after you've completed a region (or all regions), which should be less efficient in the amount of value they give for the amount of exp that is required for them. For example, let's say you've completed Demacia. If you still want to get more Demacia cards, you will continue to follow the following "reward path" which resets every time you complete it:

    1000 exp for a random common -> 2000 exp for a random rare -> 3000 exp for a random epic -> 4000 exp for a random champion

I'm not saying these should be the exact amounts of required exp or the exact rewards of course, but for someone who completes their daily quest and gets the bonus exp for the first few wins every day, getting the random champion would take about 4-5 days, which I think is pretty fair. It's also up to Riot to decide whether they want to make this region specific or not (but the former would be more appreciated :p).

Another thing Riot could do is allow you to reset all regions after you've completed them, or they could add more region rewards to each region in the future.

Please let me know if you know whether anything happens after getting all region rewards, and what you think about my proposition.

Ravenous Butcher + Cursed Keeper combo is disgusting.

We're literally talking about a two card combo that puts 7/5 worth of stats out on turn 2. This would be broken in Hearthstone, a game where minions get much more stats for their cost on average.

Butcher should at least cost 1-mana

Yeah I feel like they made most of the Shadow Isles cards that kill your own units undercosted with the idea that killing your own units is a big downside, but then they also gave Shadow Isles a large amount of cards that want to be killed or that want you to kill other stuff. This leads to a situation where overstatted cards with a downside become overstatted cards with an upside.

I get that the whole theme of the Shadow Isles is that they are creepy dudes that keep coming back from the dead but I think they pushed it a bit too far.

I haven't seen anyone talk about it but every time someone plays Shark Chariot against me I sigh in annoyance because that's exactly what the card is. It singlehandedly makes every ephemeral unit the opponent plays way better, and if they've played more than one chariot it just gets insanely dumb. It's strength also ties into Hecarim, who I feel like is one of the strongest champions in the game. I think about 8/10 times someone has played Hecarim against me he won the game on the spot because I couldn't handle the army of buffed ephemerals that came out of nowhere.

I also have no idea how to counter Shark Chariot. The only cards I can think of from the top of my head are Detain and recall cards like Will of Ionia, which are all incredibly mana inefficient if used on a Chariot (and they don't even fully remove it).

Your rewards won't improve after getting 7 wins on your first trial, but you will still gain the bonus experience corresponding to the wins you get in your second trial. It's up to you to decide whether that's worth it or not. Personally I always try some weird stuff in my second trial if I got 7 wins in my first, because getting 7 wins when it doesn't matter kinda sucks. This way I still get some nice extra experience but I also don't have to worry about performing well.

Okay so I just played an open expedition and I've come to the conclusion that this is actually a great way to earn a lot of experience and/or to try out crazy stuff you would normally be too hesitant to try out in expeditions.

In my run I picked almost every poro card I was offered and I ended up with a deck with 5x Mighty Poros, 5x poro snax and 3x iceborn legacy to buff my mighty poros even more. I had some crazy games, got to 4 wins, and gained 900xp next to the normal amount of xp you get after each expedition game. So if you're in dire need of more xp, I'd definitely suggest playing some open expeditions.

So you need to have enough to enter three times, then you can farm up xp, right? I might be able to do that next week after i get my token from the vault. I can then lvl up some regions via expeditions, sounds like a plan! :)

    Yes, exactly!
