if you want to play Reliquary of souls that badly just craft First Day of school and play Paladin.
Every paladin I've fought this weekend seemed to get that legendary from that zero mana spell.
OR you can play Shaman with Fist of Ra-Den and cast lightning bolt.
I've done the Shaman route... you die. A lot. Yay, you get a legendary... that you cannot support with your deck and will ultimately be destroyed for doing.
I am still holding out hope... and all my stuff that would be targeted for nerfs so I can disenchant and finally craft my Reliquary of Souls. for me, every single time I am ready to craft it, something else comes along and steals my thunder.
I'm shocked to only see these two on the chopping block for the initial release. Kael'thas Sunstrider is just a pain that probably shouldn't have been printed, but I guess that the dominance of the other cards is not overwhelming so much to the point where Blizz feels that anything else is worth delving into right now.
I gotta try that Warlock combo with Darkglare and Pen Flinger. Like everyone else, I've been playing around with it in Shaman to exploit it's coordinated punches like Knife Juggler, but that looks much more fun
Lol, that's just crazy, dude! Props for the creativity. I've had some really good characters that I enjoy playing, as well as some blah ones that I had to create way too quickly for impromptu on-shots. My favorite new character-- who will become my own NPC someday-- is a tabaxi warlock who's patron is a Marid. Marid's are famed story tellers and he basically will do anything she wants him to do in exchange for payment in stories. He's going to be really fun to rp with his strange social skills once the game gets going.
Thanks. Care to tell me about any of your characters? I'm working on DMing a campaign sometime soon and am always looking for NPC ideas.
Currently, my favorite campaign is where we are basically The Muppet Babies. MY character is a Grippli Oracle/Souldrinker. I"m basically a really evil Kermit and I use my 10ft tongue to deliver touch attacks that drain levels and then use that power to reanimate things. Then I craft Kaonashi (No Face from Spirited Away) as me "entourage" and bodyguards. The rest of the party has NO Sense Motive and my Bluff is ridiculously high so they all believe that these "guys I keep hiring" are just that.
One thing I will make note of on this thread is that as annoying as some cards (or classes) can be, the nerfs that come down the pipeline seem to be consistent on a couple of things:
1) A limited ability to disrupt it,
2) The majority of the meta is dominated by decks focused on that card and really abusing it
This is what I am battling with currently. Cards like Secret Passage, Lightning Bloom, Kael'thas Sunstrider, or even the burst of use of Tour Guide in Wild Odd decks are examples of how a card can disrupt game play quickly and almost without recourse (granted Tour Guide is on the lower end of the pool in this reference, the other card are VERY much obviously on the list for a reason).
With that in mind, what else has anyone seen that seems to inspire images of a digital plague?
Great write up on this. Kel'Thuzad has always been my favorite character in WoW and I have made a number of D&D characters based off of him. Good work.
I'm kind of shocked to not see Tour Guide in EVERY odd deck. I wrote about how much of a killer card it is for Odd Paladin and Rogue, but in that Shaman build, it would allow you to get spell damage on the table specifically for the Arcane Watcher for only 1 mana.
Ok, this should go in the salt thread, but I'm on mobile and am feeling lazy...
Dear Blizzard,
What in the actual fuck were you thinking when you printed Lightning Bloom? You have stated yourself that mana cheating feels bad, so why the fuck did you print this card? When you nerf this card (which you will) please don't go easy on it. Nerf this card into the fucking ground! This card is so unhealthy for the game it's not even funny.
Yup... it's kinda gross to have Kael'thas Sunstrider drop as early as T3 and then your opponent just starts to go off. Sure they get the next round hindered by 4 locked mana crystals... but when they have totally gone off, filled their hand, cast mana ramping spells, have a few minions on the board, and you're sitting there with a 1 or 2 drop ready to click concede, it's bad.
The point was exactly that, there are no cards with "Elusive" + other lengthy text, yet, so writing "Can't be..." is no problem of space.
Winged Guardian has three abilities, this included. Replacing instances of "Can't be blah blah blah" would make cards like this less bogged down with text and get straight to the point. It also allows future cards that may have a done of abilities, (cough cough Zilliax ) to capitalize on the space allotment
Interesting idea, but too slow for the current meta... That or needs a better guide. Lost 4 out of 5. The one that I did win was against another super slow deck.

So... I'm paying for 2 legendaries....

Interesting write up you got there.
This is so abusive. nice
I need to try this!

Thank you for that novel. Are you enroute to get it published?
Is the Marid's name Shaharazad
OH thank gods... Not even a joke, the fact that cards were discovering themselves was soooooooooooooo stupid.

Great use of Mindrender Illucia and even BETTER use of Lorewalker Cho. I am honestly in disbelief that Cho found a home in anything
It is decks like this that REALLY make me want to just squander the dust to make the damned Reliquary of Souls
