  • First off, I think the recent nerfs and buffs were pretty good overall. Hollow Hound should probably have lost attack instead of health, but whatever.

Crusader Aura: This card feels a bit OP to me. Yes, it needs some set up and only lasts 3 turns, but the amount of stats you can add to your board with this for such a small mana cost is excessive.

From De Other Side: They should change this internally so it doesn't count as the card that kills the minions it summons. This would fix the Fate Splitter problem I and others have commented on elsewhere. Is this combo oppressive? Certainly not. But there are lots of viable control decks right now, and they all just autolose to this.

Ignis, the Eternal Flame: This might be one of the best designed and most fun cards ever printed (yes, I was a big fan of Kazakus when he first came out too). The condition is reasonable, the minion itself has low stats to contrast his powerful effect, and the weapons are perfectly balanced for their respective costs. I don't feel bad when I lose to someone's 10 mana Lifesteal, Windfury Armor gain weapon, because they had to work to get it.

If you've read this far, you won't be surprised to learn that I LOVE Odyn, Prime Designate. Incredibly fun card to play, but definitely not OP. My Odyn deck is considerably stronger with the buff to Craftsman's Hammer.

And finally, the TITANS. Very very cool. Obviously, some are much better than others, but they're a great concept. When they were first introduced, I thought "Not great. You'll almost never keep one alive long enough to use 2 abilities, let alone all 3." Was I right? Yes, but I've found that even just using one ability can be enough to swing the game (death-glaring at you, Sargeras). And they actually stick around for a second turn more often than I was expecting, too.

Thanks for reading! Share your thoughts!

  • I was just about to open a thread about Fate Splitter/From De Other Side when I saw this one. IMO, this interaction should not be allowed. It's literally infinite repeats of From De Other Side.

  • The buff to Craftsman's Hammer is good. The wording indicates that you will gain the armor AS you attack, which means that if you've played Odyn already, you will get an additional 4 attack before you strike.

I'm also one of the idiots that's been trying to get Plague DK to work, so I think the buff to Down with the Ship (it goes face now!) might be relevant.

  • I think both cards deserve balancing and look forward seeing what happens.

I'm also really sick of Star Power. Way too much damage for so cheap.

  • Has anyone else noticed that, given the choice between Astral Automaton and Celestial Projectionist, Animate Dead always resurrects the Projectionist? I've played a handful of games now both as and against Automaton Priest, and this is what I've found. Not exactly optimal, is it?

  • As most people probably know, you cannot complete achievements in Tavern Brawls. This makes sense, as some achievements (like "Play X card X times") would be too easily completed in certain brawls. I WISH they'd remove that block for brawls like this one, where you cannot "cheat" achievement conditions and you have access to epics and legendaries you might not own.

  • That's not new. I've been buying packs 50 at a time with gold on launch day for the last couple years since I went F2P.

But they did add a toggle to do this more efficiently, which is nice.

  • Wishing everyone a great launch day! I hope your packs are full of legendaries and you have fun trying out new decks!

  • Just a heads up everyone: there is currently an offering in the in-game shop for 5 Standard packs for 99 cents. I went F2P a couple years ago and haven't looked back, but went into the shop today out of curiosity. Since I had some free Google Play money, this felt worth it.

  • Keep in mind that you can instantly get all 4 totems with Totemic Evidence. Before you would need to hit the button before playing this card in order to get 5 totems. Now you can do it either way. Just a little help to avoid misplays.

  • Totem Shaman is actually a pretty strong deck right now. With the right draws, you can develop a huge early board that can be very hard to deal with. This card would definitely support that. Remember that Thing from Below is back in Standard, and we also have Gigantotem.

  • That's actually a better answer.

  • Opinion: Haleh, Matron Protectorate should get banned from the Twist format. She is the ONLY dragon available for Drakefire Amulet to discover, and with all the mana cheating (Incanter's Flow, Hot Streak, etc) and survivability (Solid Alibi) mages have, this is a ridiculously consistent win condition.

It's a problematic solution, since then Drakefire Amulet does nothing. I don't know what else to suggest.

  • Maybe it's just me, but the paladin one looks really bad. Her main effect is to limit damage to your minions to 2, but then her first ability sets enemies to 2 attack, which essentially negates her main effect. Then she can draw minions and set them to 2/2, again making the damage reduction irrelevant. Obviously, there is some value here, like a taunt that needs to be hit 4 times, and setting minion costs to 2, but the overall package seems weak due to the redundancies.

  • Nevermind, found it. They don't make it easy, do they?

  • Ok, next question. Everyone keeps saying you have to click every hour -- what am I clicking and where?

  • Hey, thanks for that quick reply!

  • I'm new to grabbing up Twitch drops. Yes, I've linked my account. My question is this: Can I switch between streamers, or do I need to stick with one for a full hour? I just picked one at random and I find them super annoying (not saying who, I'm not looking to shame anyone).

  • God, what a slog. I played priest simply because that was my daily quest. Deck has NO draw, literally none. Plus one of the cards is a "spell" that's just the health/lifesteal option of Fanboy. Cleared the first 7 bosses easy because the AI was dumb. Then I hit Voone and had to fight him 8 times before I won. His deck is entirely rush with buffs, and I couldn't keep anything alive long enough to heal or overheal. Plus he gets a 1 mana 3/4 rush? That's fair. Finally won because I managed to stick a Hedanis on curve and he didn't have an answer. Really frustrating, won't go back.

  • I had no idea what to run here as I didn't remember it from last time. Played Defend the Dwarven District Hunter and completely wrecked it. The secrets give you spell damage, fill your hand and discount spells, and make both heroes take double damage. Killed the 150 health second stage in 1 turn. LOLOLOL.
