  • That's Captain Panaka. He was Amidala's chief of security or something. Also, that's not the Emperor but Senator Palpatine at that point.

    Wow I'm a nerd.

    Also, *Who

  • Is anyone else sick of Lightshow? Every mage I fight seems to draw both copies of this, plus double Rewind followed by Commander Sivara. Or they discover extra copies off Vast Wisdom. That's a fricking ridiculous amount of damage.

Does getting reported make you play against bots?

I'm curious what makes you think you've been reported, and for what offense?

To respond to your question, though, I've had this same issue. At lower ranks (or if your MMR is in the toilet), you face many bots. You acknowledge that your data is incomplete since it's only players currently online, etc. So, yes, you're right, there are a lot of bots and player engagement is probably lower than it has been in the past. However, there are still plenty of real people actually playing the game. Plus, with set rotation and new expansion coming next week, I expect those numbers to jump considerably.

  • If you want to try to beat bosses at higher levels, it seems like treasures are the main factor. Fight an easy first boss, then get offered the right treasures? The whole run is a breeze. Really tough first boss? Give up.

Also, did anyone notice how bugged this week's Queen Azshara battle is? My dudes keep getting frozen even though neither of her freezing effects were active. Plus, those orbs she summons multiply damage in ways that make no sense. One time it dealt over 500 damage THROUGH my double Celestial Protection, and this was at level 80. WTF?

Either way, just hear me out on this one. This on 5, Lor'themar on 7 and then you just one-shot your opponent with a 30-attack Trenchstalker. I don't care if it's good, I'll fucking do it.

That would be a 34 attack Trenchstalker. I'm with you, though, that would be one hell of a way to win the game. Maybe Decimator Olgra wants a piece of this action, too.

  • I am so damn sick of Rune of the Archmage. But I'm also anxious about what they'll replace it with. You know there are going to be some insane big spells for Mage to make DJ Manastorm work out. I mean, Rune itself isn't the problem (sometimes it whiffs pretty badly). The problem is Mages getting to cast Rune over and over and over for little to no mana. DJ Manastorm is going to provide plenty of those feel bad moments.

  • Blackrock 'n' Roll has some potential! If you play this on turn 5, followed by Lor'themar Theron on turn 7, you're looking at some thicc bois for the rest of the game. If you can gain enough armor and draw some taunts ...

  • Note that it does not say "friendly" minion. Looking forward to using this on a taunt that's blocking lethal.

  • I wasn't netdecking. Just trying to add him to a deck I had already built myself (and later edit his band). Looks like Alfi had the same problem. I know you can submit bug reports, but don't you need a screenshot? There's isn't a way to show this bug.

In reply to ETC Band Manager bug?
  • I've been experiencing a bug where I can add ETC to my deck, but it won't let me add any cards to his band. So far it has only happened with my Thief Priest deck, as I can use him just fine in other decks. I've had to delete the deck and rebuild it in order to fix the issue. Then when I wanted to change his band, same thing. Has anyone else encountered this?

  • Wow, Bounce Around (ft. Garona) dunks so hard on Vanish it ain't even funny. Sure, Vanish was also useful in resetting your opponent's board, but this new card is way more powerful with its low cost and cost reductions.

  • I think they should delete the word "you've" from the card text. Then every time you play one, you are buffing your own as well as any Freebirds your opponent might have. Of course, I may be one of those people that they say "just wants to watch the world burn."

Has anyone stolen or copied your opponent's ETC? With Souleater's Scythe, copied Bound Souls give you nothing. What about ETC?

You get NOTHING. Good DAY sir.

  • It's a weird card to assess. I feel like when you want to discover a spell, most of the time you want something you can play right away. This card runs against that. However, for those times when you need to just play this on curve to get resources for next turn, it could be good.

Worth noting that Rogue is getting a weapon that refreshes mana crystals, so you can play this (or any Finale card), then potentially do more stuff.

Just checked with everything and yes, it's like the Scythe, you can only choose each card once and it's removed from the pool.

    Good intel, thanks!

  • Has anyone experimented yet? I'm wondering if you play it with Brann Bronzebeard (or replay it with Shadowstep or Zola the Gorgon), do you get the same 3 options, or is your first choice removed? Is it like Souleater's Scythe, where each card can be discovered only once? If not, I could see Rogue abusing this to get a ton of copies of a particular combo piece, although I'm not sure which piece that would be.

  • Ok, but will Vampiric Blood summon a 10/10 or two 5/5s?

  • I was wondering how long it would be before someone started a thread about Boss Rush. Thought about doing it myself several times. It just shows how little Mercenaries gets played anymore, and that was little enough to begin with.

To answer your question, I've been following Old Guardian for tips here. My experience has been that as long as you're comfortable fighting the bosses at fairly low levels, any comp that was strong in Bounty mode will be strong in Boss Rush. For those who haven't done a lot of renown-buffing, be warned: all upgrades to abilities and equipment are cheap up to level 10, then the renown cost increases steeply. This means you can spend a relatively small amount of renown and buff a squad to where they can face most Rushes at level 50. To go higher, you need to spend more renown. Old Guardian has found a few broken strategies revolving around treasures, which means you need to survive the first boss without treasures, then hope you get offered the ones you've buffed. The nastiest game is the Celestial Protection treasure, which with enough buffs and a little luck, your Mercs are essentially invulnerable. I've been beating level 75 bosses with this comp all week. OG also tried something with the Artillery Fire treasure, which has the potential to kill bosses before they even get their stat buffs.

I like that you're playing nagas instead of the "ol reliable" fire or nature comps. I think there is a lot of room to develop fun and VARIED comps, but the renown cost is so steep! Anyone who wants to aim to eventually take down level 500 bosses is going to need some ridiculous amount of renown.

  • Here's one I've just noticed: If you have played Dreadlich Tamsin and shuffled the imp-summon spell into your deck, then played Scourge Supplies and drawn the imp-summon spell, it summons the imp and draws you a new card as normal, then you get the next 2 cards as options to discard, but NOT the first "draw". This makes the spell much worse. I think this could very well be working as intended, since the imp-summon spell is technically the card drawn by Supplies. I think it would be better if you were offered all 3 options as the card reads, then if you choose not to discard the imp-summon spell, it goes off.

    Thoughts?
