  • I was going to give this 1 start, but then I saw Saddle Up!, so I went to 2. This just seems really useless otherwise. I know Hunter has some handbuffs, and that's going to be relevant this expansion. But board buffs? That legendary weapon is about it, unless I'm missing something.

  • So best case scenario it's a 3/4 Taunt for 2 mana, plus you drew a spell. That's not bad, but it's also fairly low impact. It looks like Shamans are mostly going to be going Elemental this expansion, so I don't know if this fits there.

  • Solid card right here. Nice combination of low cost, bit of healing, plus Discover.

  • Looks ok, not super powerful. The buff is mid, the draw is nice. I will probably fit nicely in Elemental decks to help you keep playing elementals each turn.

  • Great AOE. Will clear most things, and leave you with a medium body. If you have some small minions, trade them into any enemies with more than 6 health and you should be good to go.

  • This card looks super good! The main drawback, as I see it, is that everyone's running Rustrot Viper, thanks to my boy Ignis, the Eternal Flame. You may not get to swing that weapon more than once. On the other hand, not too many decks have space for TWO Rustrot Vipers, so run Doctor Holli'dae AND Ignis, the Eternal Flame!

  • You're not getting Overloaded by this card hardly ever, is my guess. There are so many Elementals, including cheap ones, plus your ability to Discover them in a few different ways, this card will be really good.

  • That's potentially 16 healing if the circumstances are right. And he has enough health to survive 4 attacks, depending on targets, obviously. Some decks will want to run this for sure, but other Elemental decks will just Discover this and be happy they found it.

  • My first thought on looking at a card like this is whether you can use it for lethal. Yeah, in a long, control match-up where you play an elemental every turn for 20 turns or so, this might make lethal, but that's not happening often. On the other hand, just using this as a board clear with some face damage thrown in will still be pretty good. Elemental Shaman is looking better and better!

  • Since Excavate is looking to be pretty good, this card looks pretty good too. I think a lot of the treasures you can Excavate are fairly low cost (haven't looked at the list in a few days), so the discount might not be super impactful. Still seems pretty valuable.

  • Ooh, I like this card! Sure, it's just a 2/1 that maybe you can res a bunch of times. But it's such a coo concept, and in terms of value, maybe even pretty good! How many times will you be able to Excavate?

  • Taking an enemy minion can be a hugely powerful effect, but "random" makes this hard to use well. When there are only 2 enemy minions and you can choose, this gets pretty good. Heck, at only 3 health, you can probably kill it yourself if you really need to.

Another nice target for Sinister Soulcage.

  • This is basically Possessifier without the body. Maybe slightly better since the summons are Undead. Maybe slightly worse as it needs a bit more board space. I think it's a good situational pick off Discover effects, probably not good enough to include in most decklists.

  • I think this card could actually be really good. It's healthy enough to survive and give you multiple health buffs. Even if it dies, you still got 5 corpses (no, 6) and your opponent had to expend resources getting rid of it.

    Nice target for Sinister Soulcage?

  • I genuinely enjoy these types of cards, even though sometimes you get a raw deal. Yes, I've played plenty of evolve Shaman in my time. This card is comparable to Corpse Bride, except the value is harder to predict. Instead of just a vanilla 4/4 or 8/8 or whatever, you get a minion that might be way better, or might be a total whiff.

  • I love it! Great flavor, fun reference to Thing from the Addams family, and a pretty good card too! The pool of undead in Standard is pretty wide, but not so huge that this will lack consistency.

  • Great removal option. Cheap and effective. Is this the first card that uses corpses without spending them?

It looks like someone on the Hearthstone team did not do their research when they named Maw and Paw.

The actual American Gothic painting doesn't depict a husband and wife. It's supposed to be a father and his daughter.

No, obviously they meant "maw" as in mouth and "paw" as in hand, because they're zombies and they are going to claw at and bite you. Duh.

I will be playing the Deputy with Steam Guardian and Blackrock 'n' Roll as my only spell lol!

Holy crap that would be sweeeeet! I love Blackrock 'n' Roll. I would like to play it twice, thank you.

  • This looks great! I love the idea of the sludge barrel that's going off no matter what.
