I think I've been playing Resurrect Priest since the Dalaran set!

You misspelled Kobolds and Catacombs, which is the set Lesser Pearl Spellstone came out in.

But seriously, the introduction of one new class opens the gates to a possible 11th, or even 12th class in the future.  Even if they have plans to add a Monk, and maybe even an actual Death Knight class in the future, they will likely only do one a year.  At most one an expansion, but more likely one a year.

Even just adding one is going to require a slight retooling of the UI if you think about it.  Even if it's just making a list of the classes instead of the 9 class grid for things like deck building, or even for deck slots themselves, something has to be changed to accommodate the 10th class.  My guess is that if this Demon Hunter class is real they'll make the class selection into a list that you can scroll through rather than a grid.  Same potentially for deck slots, but maybe not.

Also, maybe we'll get more deck slots?  Maybe another 9 if they stay with the grid look for deck slots.  I could speculate all night on various aspects of the leak, but in 14 hours we'll have the real truth from Blizzard directly so I'm good.  Can't wait to see Kibler play a DH vs Priest match on stream!

Power Infusion > Power Word: Tentacles.

Not that Tentacles gets played ever in Wild but, RIP Tentacles!  For a new player not understanding Tentacles came first, they may end up wondering why Old Gods had a worse version of a Basic card.  LOL

Yeah, a lot of their class cards are very aggro focused on first look.  But that 7 mana weapon for one seems very control based.  I could see a world where you could use class cards for early game and card draw to establish early board control.  Then later use larger and powerful neutrals and this weapon to switch tactics later in the game to a more control based focus to keep your early board control while still building power on board with hero power and more minions.

Would make for an interesting play style.  Will need to see more cards to really know what can be done.

I like this!  Completely unexpected. I’m guessing we’ll get a slight UI overhaul to accommodate the additional class.  This also opens possibilities of Monk being added, maybe an actual DK class too

If it's 30 packs for $20... Maybe.  You have my attention.  ... I'm in!

If Kibler's coming in (or joining from home due to Corona virus?) I would assume we're going to get to see a little bit of game play.  Maybe even some live play to showcase a new feature... like, perhaps... a short 4 player competition in a tournament mode?!?!

    I don't know, I'm just guessing.

The big to-do is not likely just for the expansion, but to reveal some of the big new stuff that "will cement Hearthstone for the next decade".  So why not throw in the year/expansion reveal too, right?!

Kibler's involvement and his use of Twitch to stream are likely not why they chose to include Twitch in the stream.  Most likely they are doing both YouTube and Twitch because that's what they've done for reveal streams since maybe Kobolds... I think.  Or Witchwood.  Regardless, I don't recall if they've done it every reveal, but they've done it for several of them over the past couple years.

The YouTube exclusive streaming deal they announced before are for e-sports streams.  The contract between YouTube and Activision Blizzard involves all their games, from HS, to Overwatch, and Call of Duty.  It was similar to the contract they had with Twitch two year prior, but reportedly Activision Blizzard got paid about double the money compared to the Twitch contract.

My guess is announcement with reveals starting the following week.  But they could realistically start the next day, or a few days after.  Perhaps the Friday, March 20th is most likely since they'll probably want to stretch it out over 2 weeks and final reveal will need to be prior to pre-release events the weekend of April 3-5. With that in mind, final reveal (if they have one) would probably be Thursday, April 2.

Thought of this one but got distracted and didn't submit in time.  Thought I'd share it anyway.  May not exactly fit the rules as it's not taking from hand, board, or deck, but I saw a few submissions while voting that took things from the graveyard as well.  So I guess it would have worked...  Oh well, next time!  Good luck to all who submitted.

The “add a copy to your hand” isn’t necessary unless you were adding 2 copies. But I guess it would have to to fit the theme

Yeah, I wasn't really sure it fit anyway like I said.  It copies from the graveyard instead of hands, board, or decks.  I also thought of making it a "summon" instead, but I think Priest has enough summon big things tactics, though this one would be much less reliable as it's pulling dead enemy minions

I'm hoping for Mountain Giant , but only for selfish reasons.  I don't typically care about having golden cards, but I have a golden version of MG I'm holding in case it ever gets sent to the HoF and I want a free legendary off of that thing!!!

One thing that came up in the "nerfs tease" is that one card from Year of the Dragon would get unnerfed.  My first thought was a Shaman card from recent nerfs as Shaman has been in the shitter lately.  But if MG rotates, could it be Conjurer's Calling?

Weird... I started a run on the weekend for this sole purpose, sitting at 4-2... it's still active.

Pretty sure I have a few cards from sets like Frozen Throne, so it's not like I drafted it after the rotation.  Even restarted the game and came back in, still active!

EDIT: I was playing on PC, had to not only close the game, but also the launcher.  Once I reloaded the launcher and opened the game again, I not only got my free ticket and rewards for the 4 win run, but all the birthday celebration stuff launched too.

As Wild continues to grow, these bundles for Wild should be a “build your own bundle” style.  “Choose any combination of # wild packs for $.”  Maybe next year they’ll do something like that as opposed to 1-2 packs from every Wild set...

The other option is bundles for a specific “year”, with the exception being the first two years grouped together to exclude Adventures.

    • Do you agree with what Frodan said? No

I've been a bit pessimistic on the hype Frodan was trying to build, and it appears I may have reason to be.  Was hoping for a big "re-invention" of the game, maybe a complete overhaul of the Basic/Classic set, or even a move towards the Core Set idea.  But likely just some new cards/mechanics.

I'm most excited for another "year" when I won't be playing this game nor give blizzard my hard earned money for something that is not enjoyable nor worth my free time.

    :)

Worth enough of your free time to comment here though!  So that's cool, I guess...

In response to the actual post, I'm most excited (or maybe interested is a better term) to find out what the changes are coming that "will cement Hearthstone for the next decade" as Frodan stated following the summit.  I'm guessing the actual changes won't live up to that level of hype, but I'm mostly trying to stay pessimistic so that I'm either not too let down, or pleasantly surprised if it does end up being a much bigger and better change to the game to keep it feeling fresh for years to come.

I’ve been saying for a while now, the best option to try and balance Wild is to add a third play mode that is either 1) Wild but with bans on certain cards, or 2) a format with rotating cards sets that include a mix of Wild and Standard sets.  Could rotate monthly even, or to make it easier, it could just match the set rotation in Arena.  I’d actually be fine with either one.

I’ve actually been playing a lot more Wild lately.  My favorite deck in the format currently is titled “Galak Gun Priest” in my decks.  It’s an old fashioned Mind Blast combo priest, includes Galakrond and Awken the Makers.  It’s at 17-14 playing lower ranks, currently rank 9 or 8.

Personally, I feel like if you are just playing for fun in Wild there are a lot of fun decks to play, and to play against.  And when your fun deck occasionally crush people playing meta decks that don’t know what they are doing, it feels REALLY good!

This hero portrait is the only reason I wish I had purchased the Warcraft movie when it was released on Bluray...

You're right about Alex into Alex creating a surprise huge board. That is a different thing.

But Pogos and Tess? You can make a lot of them with the right set up, but not infinite, and you have to draw them. Once you've become Galakrond, your hero power gives you lackeys, plus you can keep invoking to get more. That's a lot of 4/4s. I mean, how many times did they nerf The Caverns Below?

    Nonsense.

In this case you defnitely cannot get infinite lackeys, just like you cannot get infinite pogos/Tess from Toggwaggle's Scheme. You have one lackey per turn + few lackeys from invoking (4-6 max)

Getting the Tekahn is really highroll but quite rare one so it is good to have in the game for creating funny stories.

Whether it's infinite in a single turn or just a never ending supply of lackeys by having a 1 mana 4/4 each turn through the hero power (so really a 3 mana 4/4 at that point) they are still technically "infinite".  But yeah, that's splitting hairs at this point.  I agree though not a huge issue as it will be inconsistent and more of a "let me tell you a crazy story" type of thing like you said.

EDIT: You can get semi-infinite in a single turn through the new legendary Grand Lackey Erkh.  If you have to hit the hero power and drop Erkh that is 4+2+1, leaving only 3 more mana to play generated Lackey's that turn unless you've reduce the cost of Erkh or have a Lackey in hand without hitting the hero power button.
