Just a heads up if you haven't seen it, but there is a special Battlegrounds streamer event coming up. It has community voting for teams of 4, rewards that can be earned, etc. Not a ton of detail, haven't seen it announced anywhere, but it popped up when going to playhearthstone.com today.
That seemed to be my world prior anyway, so not having the ability to squelch and some people taking advantage of knowing it's disabled is frustrating. In a non-related note, talking with a friend recently we determined that I also have a much higher tendency to get roped than anyone I know... *BabyRage*
I personally don't mind the way it's currently set up, but a little less time between initial reveal and the daily reveals starting would be nice. The easiest way to do that might be to wait another week or so for the initial reveal. But of course with BlizzCon they had to do the reveal when they did. For the other two sets in a year they could wait to shorten that gap.
I'm not sure why everyone suppose that he refreshes your mana crystals
Probably because in the past if it didn’t give usable mana crystals it would say “empty mana crystals” and this doesn't say “empty”.
However, the wording of “set” like Zihi as opposed to “gain” like with Astral Communion would likely mean you’re right. Just went with refresh as per the card not saying “empty”. But now that you’ve brought it up, any crystals gained could very well be empty due to the ambiguity of what “set” means. I think Zihi is the only card with that wording for a mana count interaction and it goes in reverse.
Play no minions under 4 mana cost, Call to Adventure. Another 4 cost minion you could play is Witchwood Piper, which after you draw that with Call to Adventure it draws Noz when played. After thinking about it some more, this is really good early, but Noz can be really good as a late game card too, giving you a 20 mana turn with no downside as your opponent is already at 10 mana in that situation.
Also, imagine playing Noz to get a higher mana turn, then playing Mojomaster Zihi to reset back to 6. LOL!
The one big downside is while you get a crazy early turn, you also set your opponent to 10 mana. So if they are something like Big Priest in Wild, they can start playing big minions sooner. Or if they are aggro, they can flood the board quicker with more minions and you'll just need some board clears. So it's going to depend on how well Paladin can control the early game, how reliably they can get Good Nozdormu early, and how they can deal with situations like board flood, playing against other big stuff decks, and managing games where they don't draw Noz early.
But this is honestly even good as a late game card if you think about it. If you're both already at 10 mana, you can play 6 mana worth of stuff before Noz and you have a 20 mana turn with no downside.
EDIT: In fact you could play 10 mana, ending with Noz, play another 4 mana card, then drop Mojomaster Zihi just to frustrate your opponent in the late game... You just played 20 mana, now they only have 6 on their turn! :D
Very possible that it will be, maybe 1 mana Discover a Mage Spell so you can choose one that works best in your situation, or just increase generated cards to something like Add two random mage spells to your hand.
what are the upgraded spells? are they only those 3 or is there a pool of cards?
In the "announcement trailer" the guy says Basic Mage spells. Shows additional examples of an 8 damage Flamestrike (still 7 mana), and 1 mana Frost Nova.
The three examples I've seen so far is a Fireball that does 8 damage instead of 6, an Arcane Intellect that draws 4 cards instead of 2, and then a 1 cost Polymorph.
Not sure if there are going to be more, or if it's just these three. But I'd expect any "upgrades" we see will be hard coded cards from Classic/Basic, and not able to offer upgraded versions of all Mage spells. I'd be excited to see an 8 mana Pyroblast show up as that was it's original cost before it was nerfed to 10 mana during either beta or at launch.
EDIT: In the Announcement Trailer they say "Basic Mage spells" so no 8 mana Pyroblast, but things like I listed above, an 8 damage Flamestrike and a 1 mana Frost Nova.
That's a card! Will he die after taking 12 damage, or keep attacking until he's hit everything?
I'm kind of wondering the same thing. You could maybe use Mass Hysteria to try and determine this interaction, but it's not quite the same. And I honestly can't remember if minions still attack if they reach 0 health before they swing or not.
It doesn't attack before reaching 0 health, and then never attacks. While this isn't really the same type of interaction, it could give a clue to how the attacks will work (or not work) after he reaches 0 or less health.
SO it's a turn 4 (turn 3 with Coin) 8/8 that leaves you with 10 more mana to use??? WTF?!?! Big Dragon Pally decks incoming!!! Call to Adventure with this and nothing but 5+ mana minions and spells. If not in Standard, Wild might be able to make this work with various 1/1 generating spells to help with early game tempo.

You should open a ticket on the official HS forums, link this screenshot to them. Probably just a bug. Add it to the current bug list...

If they started it right away the hype season would end weeks before release, as opposed to days before release.

Glad to here it, but I’d rather see Khadgar this year seeing as he fits into the story of this year.
I think it’s
”My dear Malfurion.”
”My beloved Tyrande.”

Doesn’t Waxadred qualify as an “Original Legendary”?

I love both this art work, and the flavor text! Loving this new Goose!!!

I wanted a new game mode, and would have been happy with much less than this. Excited to try this mode out!!!
So I guess these can be in play while your Quest is already in play?
