There's plenty of ways to not run Beasts in a Hunter deck and still make it work
Just as a base theory: One of these + King Krush + a Brewmaster to guarantee you get the discount on Krush twice. After that just double PArty + Zul'jin and you get ALL the Krushs
I mean really consider how many currently played decks run minions that you wouldn't want to pull with this?
The only one I can think of is Big Shaman and even then it's an upside if you can deny a Eureka.
Not to mention the 6-mana slot is kinda empty these days since Highmane is just not a good card in the current meta. This however is almost better against a lot of decks:
Warrior? Pulling an Omega Devastator, a Dynomatic or Dr. Boom is a pretty neat result...maybe you even get the Elysiana and win the long game
Rogue? Pretty much every card in current ROgue decks is combo or bAttlecry focussed so taking any of them out is a huge upside. If they Sap the Scorpion, just play it again for even more value.
Mage? I'd genuinely rather pull a Mountain Giant than have them play it themselves and do their cloning shenanigans
Assuming that Midrange Hunter sticks around (and why wouldn't it, Master's Call will carry that archetype until the rotation) I'd expect this in most versions.
Oh sure, i guess it's just a coincidence that any slow Warlock deck's success can be directly correlated with efficient healing being available.
You're going to tell me that Evenlock would have been just as successfull without Shroom Brewer, Spellstone and Bloodreaver Gul'dan?
Jaraxxus isn't too weak, the problem is there is no way to reliably get to him and play him without dying in the next few turns because, guess what, there's no good way of healing back up.
Health is a ressource and Warlock burns most of it via hero power and cards slike this and if they can't get it back somehow then they just get run over by direct damag.e It's always been this way and always will be.
There are plenty of win conditions for warlock atm, but they can't use any of them because they get slaughtered before they get there.
I mean...it's good value, but not only random but also...unnecessary...at least for now
Shimmerfly, Marked Shot and Master's Call is already enough card generation, especially with Zul'jin.
Maybe if Highlander Hunter somehow does become a thing it'll run this (by virtue of not having better option) but as of now I don#t see the point. It's like Violet Haze: not bad, but mostly pointless.
I do want to point out that there are currently basically no bad Hunter Weapons or secrets, only average ones.
I'm just gonna say: keep your extra copies and goldens
Seriously though, best case scenario this is a turn 4 Mountain Giant (that you can coin out), not to mention that the sacrifice portion is almost irrelevant since you're always destroying a 1/1 whose main selling point is the battlecry. Combine it with the fact that Warlock has the second most efficient lackey generator (and might even get another one) and this is an amazing card.
not impressed. Thief Rogue just isn't going to work and the good parts of it have already been salvaged and repurposed as a tempo engine.
This is fairly unimpressive. If it was a 5/3 I'd take it as removal + ressource generation, but right now you're basically never going to have this proc twice let alone kill anything relevant on turn 5.
The only mildly interesting thing is the minion restriction, but because RNG it's really not like it matters anyways
I feel like you could genuinely just buy 30 packs to get most commons and rares and just actually skip the entire expansions and only craft what's needed.
I'm already quite low on gold since I didn't bother to grind nearly as much compared to last (probably getting about 55 packs as opposed to over 100 last expac...where I missed the entire month of February)
It's a shame that such a cool thematic expansion comes with cards that so obviously don't match up with the current powerlevel.
On the flipside, since buffs are now a possibility there's always room for improvement in the future
Alright, screw everything else, this is now the only card from the set I care about. This fits so well into my Wild Questlock. Finally I no lonoger have to pray to not discard Gul'dan because I can jus do it intentionally and get double back as well.
that's pretty great actually. Usually giving your opponent Murlocs won't help them whatsoever.
However, I feel like this just doesn't compare to Underbelly Angler and I don't see any other Murloc decks around so i'm not sure if this'll see play
Sudden Genesis on a stick
Is this just an expansion of recycled mechanics?
If it didn't work back then I don't see why it would now...but I guess it has some synergies with Rush decks maybe
contender for worst card art
Hunting Party copies cost changes.
Zul'Jin exists

not good enough yet, but will probably replace MAster's Call as the go-to refill options for Hunters next year
The more I think about it the better this gets.

Healing is overrated?

We're talking Devilsaur Egg in an aggro deck.
Cool
also useless without healing
15 mana to deal 5 damage to a random enemy
M E T A D E F I N I N G
Edit: nvm, each of them procs, still bad tho

inconsistency in aggro is a death sentence.
Good Scorpion, the other thing feels a bit too gimmicky. LIke what are you going to use it on? Don't think we can do some King Krush Combos
Maybe some Big Beast Hunter with Oondasta and Warbears could work
Hunting Party is a thing but then again, when has value hunter ever worked?
alright, that's a solid defensive card.
Keep in mind there is currently no 6/6 taunt in the game so that's nice as well.
Main problem at this point is the lack of effective ramp.
I wonder if at some point they'll just have to unnerf Wild Growth or Nourish

Do they even need to? Just run a small mech package with Kangor's and the rest as Reborn/Control. You end up with great lategame value.
Ah yes, finally a good card for Priest....UNFORUNATELY YOU PUT IT INTO PALADIN YOU INEPT MORONS
Wtf did they do all that class identity circlejerk for if they're just gonna make shit up as they go anyways?

If it's not a neutral then the entire HIghlander archetype is dead on arrival
