Two new cards have been revealed by Tarreo.
We initially used the name "Fluffy Shaggy" as a placeholder for Frightened Flunky. Come on, it's totally Shaggy from Scooby-Doo!
- Frightened Flunky - Some people just aren't cut out to be supervillain material.
- Infested Goblin - Trust us. DON'T go cheap on the scarab repellent.

Frightened Flunky : Frostwolf Grunt :: Stonehill Defender : Silverback Patriarch
Frightened Flunky artwork is amazing!
Woah i hope taunt warrior is a thing. Flunky is good. Not as defensive as a stonehill but stonehill shows how good a taunt that gives you a taunt is. and you have some taunt hand buffing sources to turn those scarabs into 1 mana 3/3 taunts.
However, taunts aren't a win condition. Hopefully the quest can help with that. A defensive way to play warrior that doesn't hinge on dr boom would be refreshing (though you probably still run dr boom, but you could maybe not hinge on it).
A board of buffed taunt minions can be a win condition in itself. Against aggro, if you stabilize, you win. Versus control you can accept the tempo loss during the early turns to get a tempo advantage when you start playing buffed minions in later turns. The question then becomes whether your pressure can outlast their removal and minion generation does help with that.
One of the things Handbuff Paladin struggled with is keeping their hand size up. Drygulch Jailor helped a lot with that: it took the deck from hopeless to almost viable. This time around, both the minion generation and the buffs are better, so it might actually work now.
Another issue with handbuff is that because you can only buff minions, you want to have a minion-heavy deck, which in turn makes it harder to react to what your opponent does, since most reactive cards are spells. I don't know yet how Taunt Warrior would solve that: maybe using rush (like Zilliax and Amani War Bear), or maybe the buffs are strong enough now that you can afford to run more spells and still get enough value from them.
Aggro Taunt Warrior!
Would love it if they worked in the whole scooby squad across multiple artworks. Especially Velma. Rawr
I thought it was Savjz. ::smile::
Where are the mech tags?
Just wait for the quest reward: passive hero power - all your minions are Mechs /s
I think they're being careful with those. Given the handbuff/copy mechanics we've seen so far, adding Mechs can be tricky due to Magnetic and the Dr. Boom Hero. With the Taunt buffs already displayed so far, stuff like Zilliax and Bronze Gatekeeper could get out of hand fast. And honestly, the last thing I want to see is Omega Devastator's cousin making an entrance.
To be honest, I think we won't see many mechs in the next two expansions - Magnetic has been shaping the meta really hard (even in classes like Priest and, sometimes, Warlock), so even some good but not great additions may increase their use.
I think taunt is a great way for the Devs to give Warrior a break from the Mech archetype.
Unless someone finds a way to combine Boom, Bombs and Taunts... That would be really fucked up lol
Aren't we already only a step or so from there with common Warrior decks? There is a strong emphasis on the use if Rush minions to help maintain control of a board as is. Swap a few out for the Taunt support being printed for SoU and you're kind of already there.. no
Sees Frighten Flunky..... first thing that pops into mind... "Uh-oh Scooby... I'm scared!"
Repetitive taunt is boring.
Well, we still don't have the warrior quest. Is it possible that it will be some variation on Fire Plume's Heart?
Would be nice for Warrior to have a more fun alternative to Dr. Boom, Mad Genius.
But then again it seems like the quests don't have to synergize with the class cards (Making Mummies for example doesn't work with anything revealed so far for Palladin).
Shieldbreaker, it is your time to shine in aggro.
The only thing I dislike about these cards are their overly childish artworks.
True but then again this is HS. If you are looking for masterpiece arts you might wanna look into Magic The Gathering
I agree, Magic has great art, for example: https://www.mtgpics.com/illus?art=729
