Several cards were nerfed recently as part of the post-Darkmoon Faire balance change patch, targeting mainly Demon Hunter's complete dominance of ladder. As with all card nerfs, full dust refunds are available for a limited time and that time is almost over! If you're planning on profiting, make sure you disenchant those cards before December 29th.
As a reminder, here are the cards that have been changed:
- Blade Dance - Costs 3 (up from 2).
- Shardshatter Mystic - Cost 4 (up from 3).
- Dreadlord's Bite - Has 2 Attack (down from 3).
- Dinotamer Brann - Costs 8 (up from 7).
- Voracious Reader - Costs 3 (up from 2).
- Lorekeeper Polkelt - Costs 5 (up from 4).
Did you disenchant any of the cards? Lets us know in the comments below!

Thanks for this post! I don't really play HS anymore, but I did have a golden Brann lying around. So, if I ever go back, you guys earned me 3200 extra dust to work with! (Plus a bit more because I happened to have some of the other cards too).
Dusted Brann and Polkelt. Brann is going to retire soon anyway and Polkelt, well I wasn't a big fan in the first place.
If i have all commons from MDF and disenchant Dreadlord's Bite, will I get two copies in my next pack, or it's not guaranteed?
No. The game still remembers that you've opened those cards before, so when you open packs from that set you will get any commons you haven't unpacked previously, after which any commons you open will be completely random. Sorry, too late to be helpful this time, but this is how it works.
I tried it, and no, I didn't get Dreadlord's Bite from a newly bought pack.
It would be very easy to disenchant 4 commons and a rare and then in each pack getting a new set for full disenchant value. At least you can recraft it with no loss.
Is there a keyword in the collection manager for changed cards?
Unfortunately no: you have to manually search each of them.
Kind of sucks, since they could implement it as an easy QoL improvement if they wanted to.
I remember they did the same thing during the Rise of Mechs event almost two years ago.
Thanks for that reminder, never would have remembered - decided to just craft the Legendaries in gold and DE the originals :)
I dusted Brann. After riding highlander Hunter to Legend for the first time a few months back, I have no urge to ever play that deck again.
I'm still surprised they are nerfing Braum now; seems like if they hadn't done yet they would be OK just waiting until he rotates out next expansion.
They probably foresaw a meta dominated by Highlander Hunter and decided to proactively change something there too.
I would not be surprised to see Dinotamer Brann's nerf reverted in 4 months.
I got a decent amount of dust from the duplicates i had and 1600 extra from my golden Polkelt. I crafted a regular copy because i believe he will still see a ton of play.
Same here - disenchanted a golden polkelt and crafted a regular copy. I might disenchant the regular one for its full dust value though, as I don't use it in any of my main decks - currently only running it in quest hunter. Reckon if I do, I'll probably end up crafting it again at some point though - the card is bound to see play, both in standard and wild.
you know I got a polkelt and a golden one, too.
maybe I can dust the regular one for a tickitus to fight the evolve shamans...
Thanks, i'm not keeping track of time because of holidays.
Btw is it a good decision to DE Lorekeeper Polkelt and craft sth else? Or is he still good?
It generally depends on what you expect from him.
While Lorekeeper Polkelt won't be as good as it was before in aggro decks, it will pretty much be the same in comb/control decks.
Whoa, I´d forget this time, thanks a lot Flux Avalon :)
Edit: Fixed the credit, my apologies to the Author.
Always happy to take credit for Avalon's work. As long as I don't have to eat a shoe!
Thanks for correcting me, fixed it. Now I can crawl back to my cave in shame.
