Forged in the Barrens is here and it is time for a deck roundup for the master of the elements - Shaman!
- Use these decks the way they are or as a base to find your own path in Forged in the Barrens.
- Decks that are doing well today may not be doing well tomorrow - the meta is rapidly evolving.
- We are not suggesting you craft any cards yet. If your dust is important to you, wait 1-2 weeks after launch to let the meta settle a bit.
Looking for more Shaman decks? You can find more decks for this class in our Shaman Deck Database that has plenty of decks for Forged in the Barrens.
Elemental Watch Post Shaman
Another Watch Post deck? No way! I won't lie though, it feels odd to play an 8-cost card to pull out a 4-cost card since we have no higher-cost spells.
Trivia: Did you know that Lilypad Lurker was created because they were originally not going to put Hex into the core set? Crazy!
Murloc Shaman
Mrglgrgl! Beside the Elemental support that Shamans got in Forged in the Barrens, Murlocs also got pumped up hard which is great because it has always been an iconic archetype for the class.
- Firemancer Flurgl for that awesome board clearing potential.
- Lushwater Scout can help make some very efficient trades or simply act as a nice source of buffs.
- Nofin Can Stop Us is like a permanent, mini-Bloodlust just for Murlocs.
The deck is ultimately really cheap too coming in at 3360 dust, just under half of it coming from our buddy Flurgl. Give it a whirl if you've got him, it's destined to be plenty of fun - and the 56% avg winrate from HSReplay ain't too bad either.
Forged in the Barrens Day 1 Shaman Pro Decks
The first day is always one of the most interesting because of a variety of different strategies being checked out. Here are all the great Shaman decks we collected from pros from Forged in the Barrens Day 1.

Shaman is in such desperate need of card draw. You see it so clearly in the actually good decks right now: Rogue, Mage, Paladin and to a lesser degree Warlock. Rogue can draw its entire deck in no-time with Secret Passage, Swindle and Field Contact, Mage has free card draw in the form of Refreshing Spring Water (that often even gives you mana) and Paladin can thin its deck with Sword of the Fallen and draw cards efficiently with Northwatch Commander and Knight of Anointment. Warlock of course has their hero power. These four classes are the best at drawing cards, so they are the best classes. Blizzard says they have realised that every class needs card draw, now they just need to act on it. And Tinyfin's Caravan doesn't count.
Shaman's identity according to blizz;
I guess its only a coincidence that whenever they get some really powerful swing card like evolve shenanigans it becomes cancerous extremely quickly. This, along with hunter's bs identity, is the reason why both shaman and hunter in every meta are either nuke sized bs on a plate, or the whimpering idiot of every rural village in the modern world. I look forward to the day team5 prints yet another 5 star card for shaman (because otherwise how the hell are they ever going to be good) and then see it take over the meta only to nerf it months later.
I play Aggro Shaman. I don't need card draw if the enemy is dead t5.
Shaman has had easily the poorest quality card draw among all classes, and has only remained relevant in the meta with oppressive highroll decks; ones that are always the most likely candidates for nerfs.
They needed so much more from these two sets.
New core set.
New cards.
Shaman tier4ever.
Hey! I'm actually at a 75% wr with shaman. Won 3, lost 1 haha
