I wouldn't be surprised if Crystallizer was banned from wild
Buffs to Hunter, Mage and Warrior? Nah man, these guys are trolling.. WTF
Are redesign cards available for full dust refund??
Please please PLEASE nerf Perpetual Flame to 2 dmg...that single 1-cost card is completely killing DeathRattle DH for me
Wow 14 changes and that 1 redesign for Priest has definitely perked my interest. I'm sure these changes are bigger than the nerfs/buffs we saw during FitB right?
Definitely has me excited 🤩
Well my predictions:
Nerf Predictions:
*Warlock: Runed Mithril Rod and probably The Demon Seed.
*Shaman: This one is tricky, but i expect 2 out of these 4: Command the Elements, Charged Call, Whack-A-Gnoll Hammer, Lightning Bloom.
*DH: Illidari Inquisitor is the card i hope, but its probably going to be Death Speaker Blackthorn. (only expect 1 DH nerf tbh)
Redesign: PLEASE be Mindrender Illucia! Please redesign this annoying card that often acts as an onn-command 3 mana Time Warp.
Ban: Lets be honest, this is going to be The Demon Seed. Many people in the Wild community have asked for this ban for quite a while.
Buff Predictions:
*Mage: More minion focused archetypes is what i expect to get buffed. Sanctum Chandler, Grand Magus Antonidas and maybe Wildfire. (Hmm i'm also torn on this one, but i kinda hope they WONT unnerf Jandice Barov)
*Warrior: Probably Cowardly Grunt and/or Rancor. Tbh i really hope they buff Rancor. Rancor really needs either an mana decrease by (1), or it needs to deal +1 damage. Questline warrior honestly needs no help, because that archetype is already strong in wild, and in standard its decent. In standard it just needs some new/better pirates, which we can probably expect in the mini set and/or future sets.
*Hunter: Probably some of the RAT hunter cards like Rats of Extraordinary Size and The Rat King i guess. Maybe they also buff some other swarm cards like Rodent Nest and/or Stormwind Piper to make swarm hunter actually usable.
Either way i'm excited for these changes, and i hope they ACTUALLY have an impact on the meta. The last changes did like nothing, and i really would like more variation in the meta. (I'm tired of almost only facing Questline Warlock, Questline Mage and Questline Shamans on ladder...)
I actually think it will be Darkglare (or Runed Mithril Rod for others) who will be banned from Wild for one reason - one of Questlines is given for free after either logging in during this expansion or after buying a UiS pack, so it would be an immense hurdle for newer players who want to play Questline Warlock in Wild, as they would see their Quest banned, thus blocking the entry for the other mode, assuming they don't want to play Standard. Also Questline weekly quests.
You dont get a stormwind quest for free this time. Ever since the tavern pass, all we get is a predetermined legendary for free (Mankrik in barrens, Lady Prestor in stormwind). I didnt get a single quest from my 80 packs, so I dont think its a guaranteed.
Besides which, as we have seen with the Stealer of Souls, if its banned, it will be available for a full dust refund, which means theoretically you should be able to pivot to another deck.
Sorry, I meant from progressing the Tavern Pass and getting that free Legendary.
people have to realize that when you make a game that revolves around conditional statements there are bound to be issues at some point. Logic only works one way. And , or , if and only if, if then, not...ect,,,, When you put hundreds of these conditions into a game you will end up with circular logic or "busted" mechanics sooner or later.
Wild quest warlock is broken not because of the quest but because apparently armor counts as life and you can play a zero mana card and resurrect only the minions you want to resurrect . A card that makes hero power cost nothing and has no constraints when you have to use that effect also contribute to the issue.
These cards existed well before the tamsin quest. Why would blizzard change these cards now to effectively change the way only one particular deck uses them? This would make no sense. Trying to come up with a design for the warlock quest card that doesn't render the card useless in standard and simultaneously not having an absurd power level in wild isn't that easy because you are dealing with two entirely different bags of conditions.
Blizzard will ban the quest from wild until they figure out the best way to change it for both modes without having to change to many other things.
I don't know what they are nerfing in DH.....I don't even think dh is even consistent enough to warrant nerfs.
Shaman has way to many consistent answers for everything.....
Hunter is pretty consistent what are they buffing? Whatever they do buff it will be to promote another archetype besides spells or face.
One thing i know for certain is that I'll have a nice pile of dust to add to my mountain!
You have actually misinterpreted the card; The Demon Seed does not say take damage to your heroes health during your turn but rather it says take damage during your turn. Flesh Giant does not get a discount when you take damage with armor on during your turn, so it is not a conditional statement problem.
Does flesh giant not get discounted when you damage yourself while having armor? Im not sure, but I dont recall this being a thing, either by personal experience or through discussions in forums.
It does not. If you mainly have been playing Flesh Fiant in standard you probably wouldn't notice but Flesh Giant's interaction with armor is much more noticeable in wild where you can play Crystallizer and damage your hero.
My personal bet would be that they change it to "Replace your hand with a copy of your opponents until the end of your next turn". Keeps the flavor, retains a mostly similar effect, but without the salt of dumping your opponents hand.
I guess my hot take is now the popular opinion huh? The possibility of The Demon Seed getting banned in Wild is finally up in the air. If that's the case, it would definitely be a good change. Would've preferred for them to not take a month and 3 weeks to do it though.
Aside from that, kind of scared if they would buff some warrior pirates because of its consequence to Wild, but It's necessary for standard.
Your take was not that hot tbh lol
I don't think that The Demon Seed is getting banned, probably Runed Mithril Rod is. But The Demon Seed will see it's life cost requirement increased however, its an unfair card right now.
Well, The Demon Seed is most certainly getting banned from Wild. That's the best solution to not kill the card completely. And Mindrender Illucia is getting redesigned for Priest. She is just too unfair in Shadow Priest. Whatever. If she becomes too awful then i'll use the dust for something else.
When it comes to nerfs, Runed Mithril Rod and Perpetual Flame are pretty much guaranteed. I don't know what they intend to nerf on DH. It doesn't seem necessary but maybe they just want Il'gynoth to die off completely and will touch the card again. I don't see any other problematic cards besides this one. The other two nerfs are tougher to predict. Maybe they intend to weaken Warlock's healing potential. Touch of the Nathrezim or Blood Shard Bristleback seem like possible targets. And one more Shaman nerf... Maybe the quest is getting nerfed directly.
Mage is getting a buff... Please, in the name of all that's sacred, don't revert the nerf on Refreshing Spring Water! Buff some other card. Mordresh Fire Eye or one of his support cards (Wildfire) could use some help.
They are very likely buffing a card for Quest Hunter. This is very difficult to evaluate because the quest is very strong in Wild Odd Hunter. They should avoid buffing an odd cost card. Also, buffs to direct damage spells will have repercussions on other archetypes (such as Face Hunter or Even Hunter in Wild). Since this is a very delicate situation, it's possible that they are buffing a card for a different archetype (The Rat King...?).
For Warrior, it's going to be something related to the quest. A Pirate or the quest itself, maybe. There's the possibility for a buff to Control Warrior but i don't see this changing the situation for the archetype.
I doubt they'd be buffing quest hunter in any way. Mostly because the damage spells in hunter are already good in of themselves and dont need buffs.
Another reason is because quest hunter is much like quest mage, and the only thing preventing it from taking over face hunter as the most hated deck is that quest hunter isn't really good in standard. I don't think team5 would want to open this can of worms ever.
You are right. They most likely won't buff it. But the archetype will receive further support. It's simply inevitable. And the deck isn't all that bad in standard. I have been playing with it and it feels borderline strong. A small push will be enough to turn it into another oppressive force in standard. But, if that happens, it will be nerfed for sure.
