deal 8 to minions, leave 4/7 ish in stats, discover a card from your deck, tribe synergy, divine shield synergy, varian synergy.
will be just generically good.
Honestly not bad. Also I wonder if Galvanizer is in the Core Set. Lots of expensive mechs that you'd wanna ramp into.
Interesting card, control paladin maybe?
Will the corrupted priest spell that summons a random 7 drop summon the whole thing or just the front end?
All the Colossal minions come in with all their appendages when they appear on the board, no matter the method. Think of them as a single minion across multiple linked cards.
I get that they are summoned together - I believe that should be true also in case of some evolve effects, but when the main body leaves the battlefield, the summoned parts remain, right? And is that true also for the evolve effects?
For example I have Unstable Evolution and use it on a 6 drop -> I randomly get this Leviathan and it appears with his Claw. But then I use the Evolution again on Leviathan's body... so I get random 8 drop and the Claw remains on the battlefield?
The Claw would evolve into a 4-mana minion.
Oh ok. Buffs that card in wild as a few of them are 7 drops
strong, but omega-boring *yawn*
It is interesting how heavy, and power hungry, they decided to be on 7-mana slot in this expansion, and we havent even seen all the cards.
Not a bad card. Doesn't have the same WOW factor of the other Colossals, but 7 mana deal 4 twice and draw a card, while leaving two bodies on board, is nothing to scoff at. If you Dredged before playing this, you can also attack with your claw first then Dredge some more.
Really weird reveal, though.
This is like 2 Cariel Roames in one card, but 1 mana cheaper and it draws, seems pretty good as a way to fight back the board.
This is nothing like Cariel Roame, Cariel discounts spells, this draws cards, and in many cases something that you might want.
The only similarity is that both have rush and divine shield.
Both cards have:
And that's the main thing Cariel does. It deals 4 to an enemy minion and leaves behind a body. This card does that, twice.
The spell discount is just an added bonus effect. Cariel is played in many Paladin decks that run only a few spells. The Leviathan has Dredge + draw 1 as a bonus, which is significant in every deck.
Basically what this card does is it allows you to go Tracking for one card down your deck.
The best part about this card is that both sides have divine shield and will do a total of 8 attack without taking damage, and assuming you're doing it right you'll draw a card which you discovered from the bottom of your deck.
Will probably see play, mostly because Im sure there's a mech archetype somewhere. But its definitely not on the level of nellie, crabatoa, or xhilag.
Hmmm.. not super impressed compared with some of the other colossal minions, but paladin will need new draw tools with some of the other packages rotating and the dredge mechanic does give a targeted draw.
EDIT: i guess the more i look at it, I have decided it's pretty good. You get removal of 2 small or midsized threats or one big threat, 2 minions left on board and targeted draw. That's a lot going on for one card.
Whoa this is a bad card.
7 mana deal 8 dmg and draw a card. (thrn it's gonna die because low stats)
Flanking Maneuver + Tracking + Yeti(+) + Jungle Panther(+/-). 4+1+3+2 (I lowered the price of the two vanillas because they suck). Yea, totally ass
Why it's a bad card?
This deals 8 damage, this takes cares of two threats or one big dude and leaving two bodies at the end, besides drawing something that you might want from the bottom of your deck, something to play right away, if you have the mana, or something for the next turn.
This is a big tempo swing, for 7 mana imho.
That might have been important in like 2018 HS, but I can't see this mattering at all on turn 7.
Yeah, if there's some ways to cheat out mech minions for Paladin then it's a great card, but as it is? It won't do much.
I know they promised us a more board centric gameplay for the next year, but I can't see it. This dies to a single boardwipe spell, and all that it did for an impact is draw you one card. (and removed maybe two minions, if your opponent even had minions)
