The full set of cards for Murder at Castle Nathria has been revealed a little while ago, and we're nearing the time when they can finally become a part of our collection. Still not sure what to make of Warrior or what kind of decks to play? We've broken down all class archetypes for the upcoming expansion and gathered a variety of theorycraft decks from streamers, pros, and community members to guide you on Day 1.

First off, there is a lot of other relevant content that you might be interested in:

Now, onto what's right around the corner. Before we jump into a variety of potential decks, here is a quick look at the class in the upcoming expansion:

Castle Nathria Warrior - Quick Impressions

  • Warrior had one very definite theme among the cards it was given, and that theme was clearly Big Warrior. With card draw like Conqueror's Banner and minion generation from Burden of Pride, this is clearly the archetype players are being pushed to play on Day 1.
  • Nah, we're only foolin'. The real support in this expansion came for Damage Warrior, neé Enrage Warrior, with an absolute avalanche of cards that damage your minions, want you to damage your minions, or are minions that like being damaged.
  • Could Pirate Warrior make a comeback with a new Pirate in the set, or is all that flimflam just scurvy on the poop deck? Is that how pirates talk?

Castle Nathria Warrior - Expansion Cards & Archetypes

For Warrior, the Damage archetype stands out, with some outlier pieces here and there that could potentially feed into other archetypes like Big and Pirates.

(Don't Call It) Enrage Warrior

Decimator Olgra Card Image Riot! Card Image Sanguine Depths Card Image

Imbued Axe Card Image Anima Extractor Card Image Crazed Wretch Card Image

For a keyword Blizzard shuttered a few years back, they sure do like printing more cards that interact with it. The one true Warrior archetype seems pretty well-stocked out of the gate and, if the early returns from the Theorycrafting streams are anything to go by, the deck could snowball incredibly well if it gets the right cards in the right order. Riot! is our pick for the most important card in the archetype, giving a minion-heavy, tempo-focused deck a way to both trigger its (not) Enrage minions and clean up its opponent's board.

Imbued Axe and Anima Extractor are going to be key pieces in making sure your minions are the buffest boys in town, and Crazed Wretch is an insanely cheap Charge minion if you have a way to damage it. We also have to shout out Sanguine Depths as one of the key Locations: at 1 Mana, it's possible that you could get off two activations before your opponent even has the option to clear it away with a Demolition Renovator.

Big Warrior

Remornia, Living Blade Card Image Burden of Pride Card Image Conqueror's Banner Card Image

Remornia, Living Blade is one of the coolest designs for any Hearthstone card ever and is a flexible tool for the class. While it doesn't necessarily fit cleanly into Enrage builds, it will take those Anima Extractor buffs, thank you very much. It could also be a key piece in Control Warrior and (our personal favorite) Big Warrior. Speaking of Big Warrior, Conqueror's Banner should be powerful card draw in a deck stacked with expensive cards, and Burden of Pride is a useful way to get early minions on board without interfering with Cowardly Grunt.

Miscellaneous Warrior

Suspicious Pirate Card Image

We're not entirely sure, but we think that Suspicious Pirate may, in fact, be a Pirate, which makes it a fun option for Pirate Warrior or decks looking for extra copies of good weapons.

Castle Nathria Warrior - Top Neutral Cards

Masked Reveler Card Image Stoneborn General Card Image

Dredger Staff Card Image Party Crasher Card Image

If, as we suspect, Conqueror's Banner nudges Warrior towards a Big style of deck, it's going to need some help. Enter Party Crasher, Masked Reveler, and Stoneborn General. Two of them are minions that want you to have large minions to take advantage of, and the other, well, it's just a large minion, isn't it?

Dredger Staff could also fit into certain builds of Enrage Warrior, as a good 1-Drop that makes minions in your hand just a little sturdier.

Castle Nathria Warrior - Day 1 Decks to Try

Not sure what to play for the class once it's time to enter Castle Nathria? We've gathered a handful of early deck ideas from all across the Hearthstone tavern just to help you out:

Twitch Chat Says Play Remornia or Riot!

RegisKillbin tested out the new Enrage cards with this list that uses Rams from Ram Commander to feed the Infuse of Imbued Axe, and has a plethora of ways to take advantage of ping effects like Sanguine Depths and Whirling Combatant; whether it's buffs from Anima Extractor or draw from Acolyte of Pain and Whelp Bonker.

Those Neutral Minions Were Holding Us Back Anyway

Dekkster built an Imbued Enrage Warrior list that relies entirely upon class cards to get the job done, including lesser-used minions like Darius Crowley and replacing the card draw of Bonker and Acolyte with Outrider's Axe and Stonemaul Anchorman.

Lady Ashvane, in the Conservatory, with the Blacksmithing Hammer

DMoney went, instead, for a Control build that goes heavy on weapons for Lady Ashvane, even including Suspicious Pirate to get more weapons to buff. He also tested the power of Conqueror's Banner, and (thanks to Prince Renathal) even had space to include disruption cards like Theotar, the Mad Duke and Steamcleaner.

This Time for Sure

We get it. You've been burned by Big Warrior before; why should you expect anything else? Well, things are a little different now. Castle Nathria gave the deck extra ways to cheat out scary minions with Masked Reveler and Party Crasher, as well as some fitting minions to go along with it (including certain options from the recent past). We're talking Neptulon the Tidehunter, Stoneborn General, Remornia, Living Blade. Burden of Pride is strictly a better Barricade, and we actually have good card draw for the deck in Conqueror's Banner. And hey, if it doesn't work out, there's always the next expansion.
