- Make sure to follow along with all the card reveals through our dedicated articles, and see all of it collected in our Mini-Set guide.
- 24.4 Patch notes will be posted on Monday, September 26.
- The patch launches, alongside the new cards, on Tuesday, September 27.
- Besides all of the Mini-Set additions, there will also be new content for Hearthstone Mercenaries.
New Warlock Cards Revealed
It all comes to us via Hearthstone Twitter:
There is always that extra bit of Implock love.
Comments
Imp-oster - Will go into imp lock, not sure if it'll do the same with imp-curselock. The main problem with this card is that its essentially only useful when you're in front, have a massive minion, or have an imp that's larger than a 2/2. In aggro that's fine, but there are just better cards in other archetypes.
Arson Accusation - This one is difficult to evaluate because warlock in standard dont tend to play or need an assasinate, even if its merely 2 mana to do so. Probably wont see play until controlock becomes a thing.
Habeas Corpses - Funny deathrattle support that'll be useful in a class that'll actually play deathrattles. Not entirely shit, because at very worse it'll kill something, but its true potential lies in the fact that combined with tamsin you'll get two minions back that may well be something like Malygos. Only time can tell what this would do, but it might turn out into something like a mini phylactery.
these look pretty fun! Accusation and Corpses could probably go well with a deathrattle warlock.
Looks like I was wrong about the Inquisitor demon's class (but was right about the mini-set not giving a poop about the meta).
Arson Accusation scarcely has a real limitation; an enemy-only targeting clause would have been stricter than what it has and that's usually irrelevant for Warlock. It's an excellent indication of how far Assassinate has fallen, especially since four-mana-kill-anything isn't even a must-play and aggro can pass it by.
Drop your Location and Imp-oster on the same turn and you get two buffed imps. Winmore at the cost of having a situational card. I can see it.
I believe I saw somebody on the dev team remark how the cards for this Mini-Set were being designed in December 2021, so they can never quite properly predict/react to the current meta with those (at most by changing the cost/stats if it's right before the release).
Arson Accusation is actually pretty good and makes me wonder if we might get to a point where Questlock makes some sort of return (perhaps as an Imp hybrid with the Jailer on top just for the memes?)
Habeas corpses could be neat but there'S no such thing as a Deathrattle Warlock so I don't see how that would work.
Imposter feels kind of pointless unless you're insisting on going for Dark Alley Pact, Other than that, there's not really any Imp that you'd want to transform into because they all cost 3 or less. The only exception being a Library buffed Imp of course, but I'M not sure that'S enough reason to justify running it.
Arson Accusaton loks pretty weak, but it's real strength is that it has a fire tag. It really only has synergy with Multicaster now, but one of the spell schools Warlock "specializes" in is fire, so maybe one day there will be good synergy with it.
How does something that's basically Assassinate + card draw look weak to you?
I don't think its weak, just mediocre. It only has one niche compared to other Warlock removal options so I think it isn't that good. Then again, I haven't touched standard in a hot minute.
My brother in christ you literally said it looks pretty weak. How else am I going to interpret that sentence?
take my warning and never write shit on the toilet
Habeas Corpses would go great in my N'Zoth Warlock deck I haven't played in years lol
Imp-oster is looking pretty sus.
