There is still some hope for Wheel of DEATH!!!. Symphony of Sins comes to mind. Wheel of DEATH!!! would also active your highlander cards in hand. Could even add Tony, King of Piracy to avoid the fatigue damage. Even Photographer Fizzle could work somehow. I'm sure there's a surprising deck that can come out.
The problem isn't so much surviving with an empty deck as it is surviving doing nothing on turn 8.
I'm pretty sure they would already give something to Warlock to make this viable for at least first weeks. Some commons and rares, then easily nerf those cards without touching this Legendary card because this is nothing without support, not like any other stand-alone Legendary cards.
I will not be surprised if there's some cards like decrease cost of the spell or something, maybe it will even be for upcoming miniset with Warlock/Mage dual class card for also Big spell mage.
We will definitely see this becoming viable and the cards that supports this getting nerfed. Maybe not in release but on upcoming expansions this year, because this is that type of a card.
It looks like a bad card.
Team5 is clever. They know very well the average amount of turns games tend to end so they specifically designed this to only really work versus specific kinds of matchup i.e. control decks. Because really, against any other archetype the game would end way before turn 13 anyway.
Still, Im getting some vibes that this card is going to get nerfed, or will cause another card to get nerfed because any form of discounting would immediately turn this from meme to competitive and this card is just toxic if viable.
Sure, anything against control is toxic, ok...
But yeah, they will nerf it because they don't want mill to be competitive, even it is milling yourself, lol.
Fun idea. They've tried empty deck warlock before and it never really took off. Still cool that the card itself has kill potential and you "just" have to survive. If I get this I'll play around with it for sure.
I have absolutely no idea how to assess this card at this stage of the reveals! It's giving off Void Contract vibes, in a way.
Spend 8 mana to do nothing. Great value!
Warlock is not exactly a class known for cheating out spells either. Felwalker only works with Fel spells, and there's definitely better things to use Bloodbloom for.
It's flashy and it's certainly a head-turner, but you pay 8 mana to do nothing for 5 turns. Since your deck will be empty, you'll also need to be able to take at least 10 damage (or have ways of putting cards into your deck) after you play it. You basically need to already be winning the game to be able to comfortably cast it.
Or pack your deck with Sludges, then spend 8 mana, watch the fireworks, use remaining resources to maintain control until auto win!
The sludges popping off could also swing you from a potentially losing state to having board control and a chance.
I could honestly see Sludge Lock running this solely as a way to pop off with a ton of barrels at once.
Welp, never playing Yogg again, that's for sure.
I mean, this is better than Myra's Unstable Element (yes, you don't draw cards, but that usually doesn't matter in the context of Yogg).
