Galakrond Rogue Theorycraft - What do you think?

Submitted 4 years, 5 months ago by

Put together my first ideas for a Galakrond Rogue deck. I know we're still missing most of the new cards, but what do you think about it so far? (Guide included)

That list looks really all over the place. Also, Ragnaros will have rotated out at that point.

I don't think the deck wants cards that are terrible if they don't cost 0. That seems to be a really inconsistent approach. Living Monument, Maly, Colossus.

Ah, my bad. Took out Ragnaros for Waxadred, I forgot about him. You're also right about Living Monument, I put in Siamat instead. Inconsistency sure is a problem, but I'd like to stick to the game plan of drawing high value cards for free with Togwaggle and Galakrond for now. If it's not consistent, at least it should be fun! :)

    Thanks for the feedback!

I have no idea what the point of this deck even is. Galakrond always gives a Lackey, so maybe a more Tempo focused deck would be much better? Remove the Malygos stuff and Colossus of the Moon as well and throw in more Invoke and Lackey garbage. We might want to remove the Seal Fates as well as they are just bad and the Invoke effect does not make up for it.

Leeroy will always be our finisher here, so perhaps some Deadly Poisons to supplement the Waggle Pick damage. Galakrond with the free cards and the 5/2 claw is also very good for finishing up the game.

Oh, and Questing Explorer with no Quest? Yeah...

There are no more invoke cards to throw in (other than a second Shield of Galakrond) for now. Deadly Poison is a good idea though, I might add that. Finally, there is no Questing Explorer, but a Questing Adventurer in the list for obvious reasons (0 mana cards and lackeys).

As I already mentioned, the point of the deck is to abuse Galakronds and Togwaggles battlecrys. I know trying to get high cost cards off those effects is risky, but that's why I followed RandomGuys advice and put in Waxadred and Siamat which are good on their own. Colossus is the only liability left, since Malygos is an additional win condition. Somewhere between all those big guys, questing adventurer and edwin people will run out of answers, even if Maly doesn't get reduced to 0 mana.

Thanks for throwing deadly poison in there!

Here's my theorycraft I made about 2 days ago:

Not the same approach, and it's probably way more meme-y. If you're planning to keep the big minions, Shadow of Death could be a really good card for extra copies of Malygos, Waxadred or Leeroy. It will probably harm your tempo though.

Oops on my end, mega derped on the Questing Adventurer!

Anyway, I'm glad that my feedback could help.

Nice approach with the auctioneer there! This built looks interesting too. Have you considered adding questing adventurer as a second Edwin? I'm so looking forward to trying out Galakrond :)

Spirit of the Shark into the Umbral Skulker into Edwin VanCleef. OH MY GOD! And we thought we saw big Edwins already!

After checking your build I realized I should have added Questing Adventurers, but since the deck will change as new cards are revealed, I am probably going to add one or two later. Glad you like it :)

My money is on a Nomi deck.  You can already beat a lot of midrange if you get crazy opening hand with Myra's + Chef.

A cycle oriented build with some early board control cards, add new draw 3 for 3.
