Khadgar's Cute Ravens
- Reno Mage
- Wild
- Ranked
WELCOME!
It's well-known that Khadgar's favorite animal is Raven because he loves to transform into Raven. So, he wants to show his collection of Ravens. In truth, Khadgar is here to show off with his Beasts to unleash the potential of Reno Beast Mage. Surprised, right? It's not Beast Hunter or Beast Druid, it's Beast Mage. I'm sure that you didn't notice until now, but ever since KnC, we are getting new Beasts for Mage every expansion except TBP:
- KnC: Raven Familiar
- WW: Black Cat/Vex Crow
- RR: Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk
- RoS: Messenger Raven/Magic Dart Frog
(Khadgar's Beasts)
HOW TO PLAY?
First, let's check the Beasts we have in this deck to see why this deck is named as Reno Beast Mage:
- Raven Familiar: Pulls a Big Spell. It's a Beast.
- Messenger Raven: Can find Hex Lord Malacrass/Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk/Kazakus. It's a Beast.
- Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk: With her Spirit, you can summon Ragnaros. It's a Beast.
- Tomb Spider: Can find Jan'alai, the Dragonhawk/Messenger Raven/Raven Familiar. It's a Beast.
- Vex Crow: Ready for a Miracle with Celestial Emissary+Blast Wave combo? Followed by hard-discounts with Emperor Thaurissan/Leyline Manipulator, summon an overgrowing army of 2-Mana minions. It's a Beast.
Then, let's have a look at some of core cards to see the power of Reno Beast Mage:
- Archmage Arugal: He is here to copy these Beasts. If combined with Stargazer Luna, you will be in heavens.
- Baleful Banker: If you find him during Mulligan Phase, you won't be fatigued out with infinite shuffles of Malacrass.
- Barista Lynchen: The reason why I chose her over Zola the Gorgon is simple. Except Arugal/Spirit/Luna/Vex/Thaurissan, all minions have Battlecry. Thus, she is like 2nd Echo of Medivh.
ALTERNATIVE CARDS
With lots of value-cards, you might want to consider changing some cards or you don't have some cards anyways. Either way, here we go...
Remove | Add |
Reasons are...
- Barista Lynchen: With lots of value generators (Messenger Raven/Kabal Courier/Tomb Spider etc.), she might not be needed at all. If that's the case, or you don't have her, eat Jades and Miracle Quest Mages via Skulking Geist.
- Archmage Arugal: If you don't have him, why not be faithful to Beast Mage archetype? Plated Beetle will help you survive against Aggro matches.
- Stargazer Luna: Pyromaniac can be good alternative to replace with, which has good synergy with Spirit of the Dragonhawk.
- Brann Bronzebeard: You have lots of value generators. Maybe you don't need him or you don't have him. Either way, Explosive Sheep will keep Aggro players checked.
That's how you play this deck. If you have any questions, ask me anytime. Have fun in Wild format!
