Getting this many 0 mana cards all at once is pretty huge. [Hearthstone Card (Dragonqueen Alexstraza) Not Found] had to be nerfed since those two 0 mana dragons were too much. Granted, this is a lot harder to pull off since you have to draw and play those cards, and we haven't seen a whole lot of corrupted cards yet, but I am still a bit scared of this cards power.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Depending on how good corrupt cards are, this could be either fine or great. We already know that both minions and spells have corrupt, so this card will probably be able to refill your hand with removal and minions for 0.
The worry is that higher-cost corrupt cards will be very hard to get active, so most of the cards will probably be fairly cheap, so the mana discount will be minimal.
If a class ends up with a super strong 9-mana corrupt card coupled with a very strong 10 mana card, this could be incredibly strong, but I doubt that that will happen.
This post is discussing the wild format.
We'll need to see all the Corrupt cards first before we can dub this card as meta-defining, but its battlecry is already a pretty huge effect. Also, 0-mana cards in HS always have potential to be broken, or make way for some broken decks/archetypes.
Potentially impressive. Massive swing turn if the card pool is there.
Card seems pretty cool. Hard to evaluate how swingy The turn you play this would be since we do not know the rest of The corrupted cards, but I can see this being at The top end of some control deck fitting The same role as DQ Alex played before she got nerfed.
One thing that I'm not a fan of is how this card just capitalized The. What The heck blizzard, this alone made this card The worst in the set and I'm not down to negotiate this.
Cardboard wizard and dog haver.
Well this is a very.. interesting card. We will need to see some more Corrupted cards first, but some synergy i see so far is:
In paladin: Gives you 5 Silver Hand Recruits i guess.
In control decks it's a knock-off Galakrond, the Tempest if you played 2 copies of Fleethoof Pearltusk. (In terms of stats/removal when played) But that's pretty much it so far. Maybe you can use this in control galakrond shaman for even more 8/8 minions?
My guess is that we will certainly see some kind of OP broken (Legendary) card, or cards that can be played again. Time will tell i guess.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Others have mentioned it already. Dragonqueen got nerfed for pulling 2 zero cost, random dragons. This will fill your hand with 0 cost corrupt cards. The big question I have is how will the Corrupt trigger on those zero cost cards? If you play a 1 cost card, will all zero cost cards activate?
Easy pick to require a nerf.
Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, "Hey Matt, how can we get back on the right track?"
We obviously can't judge this yet since we don't know all the Corrupt cards.
From the design cues I can pick up from the current Corrupt cards though, most of them are probably going to be mid-to-high Cost. Cheap Corrupt cards wouldn't make too much sense since it would be extremely easy to upgrade them. The cheapest Corrupt card so far is Day at the Faire which costs 3, and by the nature of the keyword, this is probably the cheapest cost Corrupt cards will come, although I'm perfectly fine with being proven wrong here. Adding lots of 0-Cost stuff to your hand is always good too.
Obviously solely dependent on what Corrupted cards we'll get, but 0-cost is 0-cost.

I don't know how the corrupt ordering works but I think Y'shaarj's battlecry activates first and then the cards get corrupted. That would make sense flavour-wise.
I eat your fast food spare changes when you sleep.
Its basically currently the weakest of the 4 gods, but only because we don't have all the corrupted cards to review this with.
But we do have knowledge of a few, and the corrupted Fleethoof Pearltusk at 0 mana is more than enough to justify playing this card. I expect at the end for Ysharaj to be the 2nd most consistent/best of the 4, but it will all depend on the corrupted cards to be revealed.
3 Star vote now, but I’ll change that when we see all the corrupted cards. My main concern is that the whole corrupt mechanic will be too slow overal
More 0 cost cards stuff.. really blizzard? don't you EVER learn?
They said that 0 cost cards mean big deck restrictions..they lied.
This will probably be really good, rated 5/5. But that also depends on how good a deck centered around Corrupt cards could be. With a few good ones in the right class... This could be devastating.
Love the art. Y'Shaarj is my favorite old god from WoW. Never get to see him in that world (yet), so the more zoomed out art this time is great.
Card wise, it does depend on corrupt mechanic. However I don't think it's as codependent as people say. Yes it'll be great if corrupt is good. But even if not a zero Mana elephant (that 4/4 rush*) would be great. Plus maybe a spell or two. Already a decent card with just that elephant. I'm certain he'll see a good amount of play.
*Fleethoof Pearltusk and it's and 8/8 rush when corrupt. A 10/10 with free 8/8 rush sounds like a great card to me never mind anything else. Almost sounds like a certain mushroom prime who I won't try to spell on my phone, ha.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
Can be consistent because we control the pool, but can be really slow. Idk how fast games are ending in darkmoon meta, but if control somewhat possible this can be really nice value and swing.
I'm super excited for this. I know we've only seen a few Corrupt cards so far, but getting a bunch of them for free has huge potential.

It's hard to judge this right now, but it won't take more than a couple of really powerful Corrupted cards for Y'Shaarj to be a high value finisher.
Will completly depend on how good corruption cards are, either way looks like it will swing the board anyway.
Y'Shaarj's back, and he's pissed ^^
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Will be nerfed for sure If blizz prints powerfull corrupted cards. 0 mana cards are dangerous.
Developers confirmed a 9 mana corrupted card with "crazy" effect, so... I Hope that I Will open a golden Yshaarj.
By The Holy Light!
Ok, first nerf candidate or I just think corrupted cards will not be that powerful.
Team 5 are getting into some trouble with 0 cost cards, they generate more problems that they resolve, and with time someone will think of a way of abusing them.
5 stars just for old gods nostalgic theme
and the 0 cost cards are corrupted cards which need pay an expensive first while is in hand then play the now corrupted card and then play the enw yshaarij adn then still the 0 cost is only for that turn only.
People are way to scared of anything being 0mana. Aso this locked behind a 10MANA CARD and unliek alex when 0 and coudl egenrate tislef it cant keep it self goign forever and its 1 TURN ONLY.
and for 0man sure cna think of cards that where problme due 0mana btu then at same time can think of tons of others that arent an issue AT ALL.
ALEX WASNT 1 TURN ONLY. IT COULD GENERATE ITSELF FOR MORE AND MORE FREE DRAGONS.
and you dint ahve to play otehrs before her.
for yshaarij need to have corrupted card in hand play and more epxensive card, play the corrupted card and the play yshaarij and aHAVE To use them that turn or they arent 0mana anymroe.
Alex is way stronger for effect then yhsaarij. Aslo yshaarij is 10MANA which makes it even harder to double the batttlecry or soemthing.
Also alex could be generated often from LACKEYS. and even when not played she coudl stlll be usefull to activate dragon support.
People are overrating it so far CAUS E0mana!!!!!!
and they said wil be a 9mana corrupt card btu if wanan combo that with yshaarij need the 9mana car din hand play a 10mana card, then play then the 9mana and then play yshaairj and use that turn if you want the 0cost effect.
Still obviously too early to make a decent call on this card, seeing as we've only seen 3 corrupt cards. Regardless, the mana reduction is the craziest thing that will make Y'Shaarj v2.0 see play.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Nozdormu feels like the only real way to counter to this, but that would mean that it would have to be on the deck before this dropped. This has a lot of potential, especially if people can figure out a way to Jepetto Joybuzz him to make it a slightly earlier turn then it could be devastating.
Power level of this old god depends on outside factors... if corrupt decks can survive long enough, then this is broken, otherwise sees no play...

So far, all we know of this card is that it can provide a rather big and safe board swing in the late game. How safe and how big said board swing will end up being depends a lot on how many good Corrupt cards there will be.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
3 stars until we see how strong corrupt cards are. This card is so heavily reliant on the rest of the set that any definitive statements on his viability would be foolish.
Okay so Warlock will be the class for Y'Shaarj. Others are still lacking big enough Corruption payoffs.
I don't know if you forgot this, but Dragonqueen Alexstrasza can no longer generate herself from her battlecry. That was the first nerf to her.
And I don't agree with Y'Shaarj, the Defiler being overrated, it's obviously a powerful late-game bomb. Of course, it depends on the corrupt cards we'll be getting this expansion, but based on the ones revealed, most of them are solid and would be slotted into decks. I think more neutral corrupt cards will be revealed too. And unlike Alexstrasza's effect that only adds random dragons (you might get some useless ones), Y'Shaarj regenerates cards that you actually put in your deck that you can play in their corrupted versions in one swingy turn, so there's a bit more control in what you'll be getting.
I get the concerns that this might be too slow since you need to corrupt the cards in order to maximize the effect, but the classes that will most likely play this (Warlock, Paladin, maybe Demon Hunter) would benefit from having another late-game bomb to throw at opponents.
seeing all of the corrupt cards i can see this being realy solid in any deck with alot of corrupt cards
TOTAL CORRUPTION
TOTAL POWAAAAAAA
Ey its my guy free stuff is always powerful and corrupted cards are extra powerful especially the ones we've seen so I expect some usage out of this ol big boy
Self proclaimed good at battlegrounds
Slightly less worse than the new N'Zoth legendary
Probably some busted OTK Combos from this cards effect that will happen. More than likely from Battlecry Shaman.
I think this card could be good, but some of the more expensive corrupt cards just arent good enough, even when corrupted (Except Tickatus). Even though, a bunch of free 2-4 cost cards course be really good.

On the surface this is the least exciting Old God, because why would you want to just be running a pile of Corrupted cards? The true strength of it is in trying to create some fancy combos with specific Corrupted cards.
Welcome to the site!
Kinda the lamest card from the 4 old gods... still good but less fun
All hail the banshee queen.
I like OTK decks, and this looks like a decent (TTK) one pops up for Quest Shaman with Tour Guide into next turn HP + Y'Shaarj + 4x Corrupted Circus Medic going face.
This looks like it has good potential. How many corrupt cards do you need to get reasonable value? Would you care if some of them don't get played this turn?
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
Even after all the cards are revealed, I'm still not sure where this card goes in. Probably Paladin and Druid?
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
I think this one is just as powerful as it's original version.
Tickatus alone make Y'Shaarj, the Defiler such a threat in Warlock. Other than that, I think running Y'Shaarj will prove tricky because there aren't many great neutral corrupt cards outside of Strongman, so Y'Shaarj's strength is largely dependent on class corrupt cards. Maybe Paladin can make Y'Shaarj work with Carousel Gryphon?
For glory, honor, and gold!
Good finisher, provides you with free copies of powerful cards that you already played this game. Probably the best of the four Old Gods from DMF at actually winning you the game.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Getting back some corrupted cards sounds awesome by itself. That they are for 0 mana only for one turn seems a enough advantage to worth playing Yshaarj also considering he has a decent body.
I'd say that he's the top2 of new old gods besides C'thun. Will see play for sure.
Xbox gamertag - Psymonjet
The best of the Old Gods, will probably be great in Warlock with all the new juicy corrupted cards
