Rarity distribution is weird... Warrior got 4 commons, while Priest got 3 rares and a Legendary
Distribution is indeed messy, but every class get 2 new cards, and 1 dual card. while neutral get the rest.
I’ve always wanted to see what a HS set would look like if it weren’t held back by the expansion’s flavor. I appreciate that they went back and revisited old mechanics and improved upon them. Unfortunately I believe a few of these cards are going to have to be revisited in the future. I do like how this set is attempting to slow down the meta, while still giving aggro a bone.
edit: After looking at the set as a whole, I belief the balance is actually right on the nail. My only complaint is that mage is getting that muffin card.
When I first saw Conjure Mana Biscuit, I thought it was really strong because banking mana is very useful, but then I realized that it does cost a card from your deck.
It's like a mix between Far Sight and pre-nerf Innervate, but the biscuit lacks the draw of Far Sight while it requires an up-front mana investment that Innervate does not. So while it is similar to two good cards, it also has the down sides of both of those cards combined.
It might see play in Mana Cyclone decks or in OTK decks, but it won't be an auto-include for mages, I think.
idk... 2 and a half months of waiting for these cards, i think i expected more...
i'm terrible at predictions tho, so maybe those cards will change the meta in standard and/or wild more than I’m imagining, fingers crossed!
Okay, this may be proven wrong months later, but anyone getting this feeling like that 15 bucks isn't really worth it? I mean, nearly every card I want/need except for Dark Inquisitor Xanesh is a common or rare. And the only epic here is a tech card.
How many of the legendaries will prove viable competitively? Maybe only Moonfang and Keywarden Ivory. But both are hardly what I would call core cards.
There are 14 unique rares though, so 28 rare cards to collect. That alone will likely take more than $15 or 2000G worth of packs. Unless you're not interested in the majority of rares either?
Personally, I think many of the revealed cards are at least interesting enough to try and build decks with, so I'll probably buy the full set for 2000G.
I was thinking the same thing actually - I'm already getting the commons and rares with the packs I've hoarded.
So is $15 or 2000 gold worth the 2 epics, and 4 legendaries here?
I think I'll be using gold for it - after all you never know when they will be fun or meta. And it means my collection looks nicer :) Also I'll get a little more dust from the packs I do open due to duplicates I wouldn't have otherwise gotten.
All in all set feels strange but like many others have said I have no idea if or when certain cards will be good. Will get them just in case and the 2000g option is unexpected and very welcome.
It depends. Are you a collector or do you just want competitive cards? Do you have a big collection or not? $15 bucks for a guaranteed 66 cards is an absolutely fantastic deal no matter how you slice it, especially when most of the cards are pretty good.
If you just want a handful of cards, then of course getting just those handful is higher value.
