They're pushing the minions bumping into each other. Ogremancer just made an impact. This also seems like if you're winning, win more. Will be fun to try.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
Yeah... they get +1/+1 before getting a Twisting Nether
Not even comparable to Ogremancer, because you need to be way ahead on board for this to be impactful

Watch Post Priest meta
I do not think the effect is good enough, especially because this unit cannot attack and takes up a spot on the board.
Too expensive, and the effect is not useful. 1 star...
Not good enoughm but like this shrine like concept
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
I'm not seeing this making a great impact.
i think this can work in some token synergies
Other tower seems a lot better.
Cool design but I'm not sure if it will ever be played
Hmm. I really like the flavor. It's a bit like Never Surrender! but not Secret, and it can happen multiple times. If you opponent can deal with it on board, it's crap. But it they can't ...
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
It does have huge amounts of health, but will likely be prized only as another watch post. Ogremancer is the better counter against spell heavy decks, and the fact is that most decks you see in standard will likely be aggro, and aggro decks rarely play any spells.
If it had taunt, then we're talking. But sadly it doesn't.
The theorycraft season is officially on with this one ; Could build a deck around it, and watch your opponent pressed to remove. Seems like an interesting design to say the least, and the fact that is neutral means that everyone can have their variations.
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
Hah, I think this is the first 1-star card to be revealed. +1/+1 doesn't matter against a Lightning Storm, and for those decks like Rogue which Ogremancer is great against, having the board to make this useful is either useless or means that you're already winning.
Better call Thrall!
The Kargal deck looks like a huge meme, so this is probably a terrible card. In a token/aggro deck where you want this kind of buff, this card is a non-starter. It's a "4 mana do nothing" card that comes packaged with the hopes that your opponent will spend their mana buffing your guys. Maybe it's an okay tech card to resist AOE (kind of like Never Surrender!), but 4 mana is a lot to spend for that kind of insurance.
The second orgermancer. Fun
At least Blizzard made it an Epic so we can get more Dust when we disenchant it.
No, wait! Watch Towers are the perfect counter to Sigil of Silence! Nevermind.
This could be good against spell decks so it seems both watch posts are polar opposites.
Eh. Ogremancer burst onto the scene because it acts as a comeback or stabilization tool, this is a win-more card that is flat out dead in some matchups.
As much as I adore the idea of this Watch Post archetype, this card doesn't seem very good. The bonus is reliant on your controlling other minions while your opponent chooses to go spell-slinging.
Hm, maybe too slow for the current meta?
Actually looks good on paper when you consider what it will take to remove this. It's worth noting that it buffs itself, so it's going to be pretty costly to take it down.
Will it work in practice? It might force your opponent to make some bad trades, but things that take up board space without dealing face damage tend not to see a lot of play. Against an opponent who's not playing many spells, it's completely dead. That could be a severe problem, depending on the meta.
Could be good. Annoying to deal with. Don't think it's strong enough but fun idea.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
It's like a less good Ogremancer?
Seems very weak to me. Only really works against spell-heavy decks and even then you need to have a respectably sized board yourself to really get that value. Minion-centric decks will just walk over this.
Conceptually and thematically, the watch posts are very cool. I also don't think it's much of a problem that they can't attack, because their effects make them priority kill targets for most decks. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a card that lets them "shoot", kind of like Blackhowl Gunspire.
if you cannot give them taunt they are useless
This is worse than the second tower
-=alfi=-
This itself also gets +1/+1. It can get sticky and sticky. It seems kinda sketchy at the moment, tho.
OBLIVION!
Ogremancer sees play. This one could be a new must have to keep pressure to the opponent with the board build in the first turns.
I don´t like it. Would suck if I open this instead of a good Epic, more so, if I don´t open the supporting Legendary.
♡ u 4ever 2008 - 2022
we have a (possibly) winner against all the spell decks
I'm not online it's just your imagination
too expensive and of no real use
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Weird card
I do not think Watch Posts will be good. They are simply too situational and they do not save you from death
Good only if you are ahead on the board
Rogue DH
Ogremacer type effect.Could be great with a lot of minions on the board .Could see play in zoo warlock ?Need to see the meta how it will be ,and then we can choose which watch post is going to be used.
hmm 4 mana and even the effect is not that good, as least it has solid stats
Meh ... i think this will be to slow and most of the time wouldn't be worth playing over other cards even with the Support from the New Legendary.
So far im not convinced this could work.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
This plus Ogremancer to lock your opponent out of games
Bad.
I like it because OGremancer already proved the concept works.
This could be the reverse Ogremancer because instead of protecting slow decks against fast spell based decks, it protects fast board centric decks against slow spell focussed ones
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
At first I gave the 2 watchtowers 2 stars, but then I saw there's a legendary that synergises with them, so 3 stars for the whole lot. Still remain unconvinced that these cards would see play, looks more like a gimmick to me.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
Cant attack (
Slow
Very annoying to deal with, the relatively high attack makes it so your opponent will have to sacrifice quite a bit to trade into it. However, the fact that it can't attack makes it so your opponent can just ignore it. Don't see this being played over Ogremancer, and I don't see any deck needing more anti-spell cards.
i dont think this watchpost thing is going to get much love
good card
Kenny's little poet. 😇
"when your opponent does..." effects never really saw play, so I don't think both watch posts are good enough.
not sure I like any of these watch towers
AmazingLP is a monster, shame 2 of the cards revealed were meh.
This being one of them...
It should read, "Has 1 attack during your turn" not "can't attack". Too restrictive.
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
Good architecture, looks really sturdy, but the mean gangs of the alliances can just walk around it using minions. Only usefull in control/control matchups.
useless even with legendary
This card is pretty awful. The only slim use case I can see is against spell-heavy decks, but even that seems pretty questionable. Just no.
English is not my native language, so please excuse occasional mistakes
You also need to be ahead in board with Ogremancer... This tower give +1+1 to himself. So if you want to kill it by spells you'll need a really powerful one. Plus this has better stats than ogremancer, so if the opponent trade his minions will take a lot of damage. That's way better than Ogremancer.
Thats a decent card which played with some synergy (the legendary one for exemple) can do some good stuff and pop up a new archetype.
Murlocs <3
Very underwhelming for epic.. needs a lot of setup AND opponent to play favorably to you.
Hmm, this might see play in midrange decks if Libram paladin or another spell based class is popular in the meta. Ogremancer might be "better' in terms of creating taunts, but from the times i played Ogremancer i always wished i was able to play it on turn 4 instead, so in that sense Crossroads Watch Post kinda has the edge over Ogremancer.
I think Crossroads Watch Post will see play in more aggresive/midrange decks (Even though it can't attack.), while Ogremancer sticks in control decks.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
No Ogremancer is fine if he is the only minion on board and you are not fully ahead... he also generates taunts which is relevant actually.... This one buffs your minions, and for that you need to have some other minions, Ogremancer is fine if he is alone...

Without the payoff of the summon 5/5s guy, I don't think I'll run this in any old deck unless spell decks are a big part of the meta
4 Mana 7/7
Somebody, somewhere, will meme playing this against Mozaki :D
This seems significantly weaker than the other tower for a number of reasons. It costs more, it is dependent on you having a board, and it doesn't seem as efficient at slowing down your opponent. The other tower has to be removed by spells, and spells impact the board once and are gone, meaning they aren't as efficient if your opponent is looking to get ahead on the board. This one lets your opponent play minions which means they can still develop a board without giving you minions.
I like this cycle of tower cards, but this one could have been better.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
It's quite a little effect for an epic 4mana drop that can't attack... it's all about the opponent to manage this
For The HORDE!
This needs at least 2 other minions for the opponent to even care abour idk about this card being any good.
Very reactive to be good, but can have some play
I can see this in aggro druid, very interesting, 4/5 since i think I'll see a a solid amount of play.
Slow awkward and not even that good at countering the thing its countering. If this is good it means you have a big board that can make use of this and that your opponent only has single target removal or isn't removing anything. If that is the case what spells are your enemies playing? If they are playing tools to heal and you have a huge board and they have no removal, you have already won. If they are playing value generation they are insane. If they are hitting your face you are likely about to die. If they are wiping the board this usually won't help you.
watch post cards have great stats for their cost. even though they cant attack, their effect will make your opponent want to destroy them, so they gonna have to fight with those great stats. therefore, I expect this archetype to work.
Maybe this will go off once when your opponent casts a removal spell on it. Pretty high health, so they would probably want to use hard removal.
I see Watch Post potential in a Disruption Warlock deck. Use the Rafaam's curse or milling to give spell and minion cards, now they have to play it.
So, if you're winning, Crossroads Watch Post is a small insurance policy against AoE. That's the only thing I see that can give it some use.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
The better watch post I think.
At this point I have spent too much money on these games to quit.
Now pass me another pack, and lets see what I pull.
Really, really slow, can be played around even the effect is not amazing. The synergy with other tower cards must be better than what was revealed for this card to have a chance.
Interesting design... but will that be enough? Should be more high stated
Watch Post Priest
Kinda slow for me and I don't like the effect too much. I don't think this is a "tech card" for agro vs Control, since Control deck will use a spell to clear the entire board most likely (and u will be screwed)
Synergy counterpart, good card.
I don't see how this could have a significant impact.
I would describe this as "win-more, but doesn't win more". Does that makes sense?
I like the theme but doesn't seem good. Unlike Ogremancer, you need to be ahead on board for this to be effective. Best case for this card is a way to protect your zoo board from fixed damage AOE.
Looks weak.
mwah for now, will definitely try out a outpost deck somehow
It doesn't seem as consistent as the other Watch Post, but If you can slam one of these down on a wide board it could get very interesting.
Pop this into any token deck and drop it down after you made a board and it may give your opponent a hard time.
We're going to see a lot of support for the archetype, it's a dead card otherwise. I like the idea tho! A lot of innovating concepts in the expansion already
I like to see a new neutral archetype, but needs more support.
By The Holy Light!
I prefer this Watch Post to the other, it might be good in certain swarm/token decks where you want to prevent your opponent to kill your board with small AoEs.
Meh to say the least. If they gave it Taunt at least that would be something,
Did you notice how every expansion there's a meta defining card that everybody thought was weak ? That's this card. Basically permanent Never Surrender! on a massive body, way underrated.
This mechanic sounds cool, but we saw something similar back in the day with one of the early Trogg cards. I thought it would be high impact then, but it wasn't. I feel like the same will be said for both watch post cards.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
I think it will only be played in a watchpost themed deck, which I don't see being good. Probably fun, and mediocre at best.
If it could attack, might be ok. Otherwise a huge tempo-loss for an effect that is only good against spell-reliant decks, and requires a board.
It has potential since spells are fairly common. Dealing with this before playing spells can be hard and not what an aggressive deck wants to necessarily do, but sometimes is necessary if what gets buffed is scary enough.
Ribbit
Posting in this post about a post card.
yay
Too expensive
not very optimistic about the watchposts tbh - people can just clear your other minions before triggering this, and no matter how big this is it's not useful it it can't attack
I can't decide whether this one or Far Watch Post is the worst.
Arena > Wild > Standard
good
Worst Watch Post. Requires you to have some minions on board, and for your opponent to have spells to cast. This doesn't even approach the point that usually when you have a board of minions the spells your opponent casts are of the removal variety. It might be a nice way to threaten spell-heavy decks that want to cast a lot of spells that don't interact with the board, but there's way too many conditionals standing in its way.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
IMHO we can see only two watch posts in game, and it could be one of them. Great if we have full board, which will be buff with +1/1
Given how much health this has, it can make a small board really sticky. Looking forward to seeing how well it'll work
probably the worst one of all watch post cards
The body is sticky which is nice but it looks too expensive for a token deck and I doubt a deck focused primarily on watch posts will work.
I think watchtowers will see some experimentation in the first week(s?) of the expansion, but will have a hard time staying relevant.
Could be good but hard to get value, just play in to make the 7 cost better
Not sure if this card is good. Maybe in a buff deck.
Not a good enough benefit to really deter the opponent. I don't see it.
Welcome to the site!
I was initially skeptical about these watch posts, but after seeing them in action on yesterday's streams, I'm starting to change my mind. Obviously don't go full watch post, but there's potential there. The part I don't like is that the value depends on what your opponent plays.
I want watch posts to be a thing in the meta.
Tower defense priest incoming
This is the only watch post whose effect isn't standalone, which probably makes it the worst watch post. The effect is board-centric and even somewhat aggressive, but no aggressive deck wants to run a minion that can't attack and no control deck will consistently have a board to care about the effect.
For glory, honor, and gold!
