  • The 2/2 to 3/3 change was fast but I commented on the old thread

  • Sorry about that everyone. The English promo email had the card with wrong stats, and when the real card got added to playhs gallery we got a duplicate, so we just deleted the original.

  • If Edwin VanCleef or Questing Adventurer would be in Core this card would be bonkers. Nevertheless this is good value

  • That's a lot of potential early game tempo. I'm glad Edwin VanCleef died for this.

  • Certainly not a card for every rogue deck as many of them consist of ~50% 1 mana cards. But it's a mana cheat card, so I have no doubt it'll find its way into a deck. Reminds me of Forest Warden Omu.

  • Manacheat is usually good, so this is good

  • The only thing better than Scabbs Cutterbutter's name is the effect - this is going to make for some crazy combo turns. Getting rid of Edwin for this is 100% worth it

  • Good synergy with cards since you can lower the value by 6 and extra kudos for the cutterbutter lol

  • better than Edwin ...

  • This is pretty great for rogue but you'd ideally want cards that are 4+ mana to get some good value. Most rogue cards these days are around 2 mana. They'd be zero mana so this guy could potentially find a home anywhere. Weapon rogue might still be around when the new expansion launches, so this card will probably be good there.

  • Really nice for further comboning...

I won't craft it, but be happy if I get it

  • 6star

  • Pay 4 to gain 6. Good deal.

  • This is just so good for combo decks and tempo .This will see play a lot.

  • Looks like a card for wild deathrattle rogue.

  • I see value, I like!

  • This is the roguiest rogue card that ever rogued.

I am extremely glad Whirlkick Master won't be around to meet this guy.

  • That's a lot of cost reduction, obtained fairly easily. I think this card will be hugely powerful.

  • I mean, it is a 4 mana 3/3 that saves you 6 mana, I will be surprised if this doesn't become a staple in rogue decks for a long time.

  • This card will be in every Rogue deck. Definition of meta defining.

  • Tempo king! One must craft for non-burst rogue decks

  • OP AF. This card is completely NUTS. Coin it out, and you can easely cheat out SI:7 Agent, Self-Sharpening Sword, Sparkjoy Cheat, and many other cards. It's also a 10/10 target for Shadowstep and Tenwu of the Red Smoke. Scabbs Cutterbutter is going to see a LOT of play in pretty much every rogue deck, and i think this might get nerfed. (Hopefully to it's effect, not mana.)

Thank Yogg Whirlkick Master and Edwin VanCleef are rotating, otherwise we would have been in a lot of trouble. Also THANK YOGG it's EVEN cost, imagine this thing in ODD Rogue..... I'm getting shivers just thinking about it.... Let's hope that IF it were to get nerfed, it's not a mana change. But who knows, maybe it won't be as broken as it seems?

Also i love Scabbs Cutterbutters name, it's kinda funny lol.

  • Its in the rogue philosophy, doing one big turn that can take you the advantage forever. Its not insane but clearly an auto add in all combo decks

  • Best name ever. I'll craft him just for that. Super excited to play him too.

  • Oh no! We'll be seeing a lot of this gnome.

  • Edwin died for this card. But feels kind of worth

  • Big discounts are always good!

  • At 2/2 I thought he might be a tad slow but still an auto include. At 3/3 he's just bonkers. I honestly think he might get nerfed eventually.

Foxy Fraud exists. Shadowstep also exists. If you are onturn 4 (or 3 with coin) and you double Fraud via Shadowstep you can play this guy for 0-mana and still have 2-mana left which should allow you to make some nutty tempo plays (just don't cock up the order).

Honestly, this could probably be 5-mana and it would still see play

  • So what would be the best cards to combo with this ?

I assume you want tempo or face damage out of it, not wait turn 10 to combo some 6 mana minions.

So how do you actually recover from the tempo loss of playing a 4 mana 3/3 in rogue ?

I really don't see this card being in EVERY rogue deck like some people imagine, take the current aggro rogue for instance, do you think they'll coin this on turn 3 to play a 0 mana sword, or they'll coin the sword on turn 2 ? Yep, exactly. And there are so many 0 and 1 mana cards that are essential to rogue decks and don't take advantage of Scabbs that I actually think it'll be restricted to very few decks.

Not to say this is a bad card, not even close. But this won't go in your typical face decks. More midrange-ish tempo decks maybe. Secret rogue ? I don't know. Just not weapon rogue, I don't see it.

  • Great card for all rogue decks, especially combo

  • So far the best Legendary revealed yet imo. It has so much potential, I´m worried what Rogues can do with it.

  • Scabbs looks so adorable, easily my fav mercanary.

  • This looks like it would stack with Preparation to get a potential 5 mana discount on a spell, alongside a 3 mana discount on something else. Rogue doesn't have many high cost spells to use this with, but it opens up a lot of space for big swing turns or OTKs.

I'm also liking the idea of using one of those discounts playing Potion of Illusion. Storing a 1 mana Scabbs for net +5 mana later can be pretty insane.

OK, so the meme player in me is now super excited about this little guy and the world of dumb combos he opens up.

  • Its insane. This can't be bad. I don't know what else to say about this. Its going to be strong in any deck really. Not sure there is a deck that will say no to this.

  • I really dont like the mana cheating rouge decks. they can do so much in 1 turn. Edwin would love this btw.

  • It's a great card and a good deal. Why not play it?

Or rather, is it worthwhile to play it and lose a deck slot for some 3-3 body? It's not likely that you'll always be able to use the full free 6 mana, after all. And it is a Combo card!

  • i love it!! Craft day 1 for sure

  • I thought they had learnt a lesson after nerfing Galakrond's Rogue with the (0) discount, for that class at least.
This is way too good of a card : 100% will see play

  • 4 mana to get 6 mana, that's what rogue needed...

IDK if rogue will be a thing in the next meta, but every rogue will use that minion for sure, so strong.

    5/5 card

  • Really cool card, it will enable a lot of shenanigans. This plus good ol' Edwin would be insane.

  • Straight up amazing, easy 5/5. Good thing it’s up at 4 mana, could still be nerfed in the future.

  • This will be most likely grwat

  • Good name

  • Great combo value, love the name!

    • First off, 5/5 S+ Tier name.

Second, that effect is bonkers strong and will cheat some nasty turns.

  • Cutterbutter. His occupation when he's not out roguing somewhere.

Cheats mana to such a ridiculous degree, its impossible that this card will not see play. Its basically a tempo 3/3 for a net negative 2 mana. What else is there to say?

  • 3/3 is underwhelming and we are losing edwin. if there is no new card that cares for cards played this wont see play

  • This card is crazy, but its best targets are leaving standard (Edwin VanCleef, EVIL Miscreant). Wonder if it will have enough good pay-off cards.

  • Strong combo card. Rogue will love it.

  • nice!

  • Potentially broken AF, especially for Rogue.

  • This card is actually one of the best I've ever seen for rogue.

  • Powerful cost reduction effect, but it's a late game one. You need to combo into this and only then into your other combo cards. Not saying Scabbs Cutterbutter, he looks powerful, but I don't feel rogues will have their entire gameplan around him.

  • Looks real strong. Scabbs definitely going to be a staple for most rogue decks.

  • It basically gain 2 mana with a 3/3 body. Yeah its good

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

    Amazing with Edwin

  • Very powerful card

  • Extremely strong card, auto include option in all rogue decks.

  • Coin this on 3 and you get and increidble turn, 5/5 card.

  • Oh boy, two sprays of Knives!

  • I see finisher potential

  • This seems crazy good, wtf ? The low doesn't seem that much a downside compared with what this card allows to do.

  • Damn, this card is going to allow for some massive plays since the discount applies to the next 2 cards. At least Edwin is leaving.

  • This is Azeroth’s version of “Boy Named Sue”. The only way you can survive with a name like that is to be a complete badass.

  • This is a great card, with a great name. Pay 4 for a 3/3 and a 6 mana discount? Clearly good tempo.

  • Well it was good at 2/2, at 3/3... it's just op

  • Coining this out on turn 3 is Doooooppee!

  • This is goddamn insane. It'll make for some HUGE swing turns for Rogue; just coining this out on 3 will probably enable a massive swing that could snowball the game in your favor. This has potential to be a nerf candidate, with the mana reduction to be reduced to 2 instead of 3.

  • Great effect, but 5 stars for the name alone.

  • i think it's so good that it might get nerfed to 2/2 lol.

that said, i'm a rogue main and unbelievably stoked on this.

  • Very strong and good card, pretty sure we will see it a lot

  • It's a sort of mini skull of guldan. So, I think it will see a lot of play.

  • no matter what every rogue uses this prefect

  • AnonymousUser's Avatar

On paper, it seems like you're playing a 1-cost card to activate the combo, play this for 4 then cheat hopefully 5-6 Mana. In the end, it's just a free 3/3 which honestly isn't that much. BUT it's nuts if you coin it out, or if you Shadowstep it.

  • Awesome swing on turn 3 or 4.

  • The 2 cards at minus 3 cost mean this has high flexibility and utility.

  • Such a discount!

  • Very strong card can enable a lot of insane turns mana cheating is not a joke.

  • Good name 10/10

  • Imagine it with the 2drop minion that reduces combo cards cost!

    Rogue will be fun!

  • On turn 6: Foxy Fraud, Scabbs Cutterbutter, Oil Rig Ambusher, Potion of Illusion sets up for a lot of damage.

Need to figure out how to use these values as an otk but with a few Shadowsteps it can easily grow lethal in two turns.

  • Free 3/3 and 2 extra mana with maximum value. A bit uninspiring, but I guess it's bound to see play, just as Foxy does.

  • I thought it was pretty strong when it was a 2/2. Being a 3/3 just makes it even better.

  • Dang, with Foxy Fraud or The Coin, you can cheat out two three-drops on turn four alongside a 3/3. The high roll potential is kind of insane, which means it probably sees play because that's been the history of Rogue. This is like the Rogue equivalent to Skull of Gul'dan, which is arguably the most powerful card in standard during the Year of the Pheonix. Early-to-mid game mana cheat should never be underestimated as cards with these effects can tend to win games on their own. I really hope Rogue isn't insane because of Scabbs Cutterbutter!

  • Good value. This cardhave a lot of potential to make a huge tempo turn during the midgame. Foxy Fraud is perfect to activate it

  • Staple, the most impactful card of this expansion, maybe

  • Pairing it with Foxy Fraud and off you go.

  • This card is bonkers.

    Pay 4 discount 6. Damn.

The only downside to this is for rogue decks that run cards greater than 3 mana.

  • realy op, omg...

  • probably broken

  • Oh boy, here we go again with the mana cheating....

  • wow great tempo

  • yeah, so im always going to say butter cutter.  and its a great card that will see play in most rogue decks imho

  • Preparation, this, then Sprint... Instant hand refill.  With a lot of low cost things coming into play with the rotation and a focus of being a weapon class... this could be very interesting

  • There are some nutty possibilities with this card. I think this will be in heavy rotation in many rogue decks.

  • Name: *****

    Effect: *****

    Moustache: *****

  • insta-include in rogue decks?

  • The effect seems like it's tailor made to be broken but I don't even care about that because I've just spent the past minute saying "cutterbuttercutterbuttercutterbutter" and that feels pretty good.

  • I love this art. And also this amount of cost reduction is huge adventage.

  • Yes, rogue again...

  • Quite a big value card. Mana cheat is real haha

    • Very powerful in a fair amount of cases

  • Powerful card and defenitely a potential nerf candidate.

  • good

  • Discounting two cards by a lot is very good.

  • huge enabler. won't be surprised if it gets nerfed, but it will be fun regardless. so strong

  • Crazy card, with lots of potential with Tenwu or Shadowstep

  • Absolutely stellar!

  • Obviously very strong.

  • Printed for nerf.

  • Best scenarios is a zero cost card to start the combo and then 4 mana for this. That gives you 6 mana spread across two cards. With all the card draw and cost reduction that Rogue already has and is getting, this could make for some sick plays.

  • Seems like a very strong card, pretty much at any stage of a game.

  • Insane mana cheat but activating the combo makes it a little bit awkward. Still looks like a must-have for pretty much all Rogue decks for the next 2 years.

  • Insane combo potential,

  • good card for sure, but doesn't fit into every rogue deck

  • Seems super strong cheating 6 mana out of 2 cards.

  • Love the name. The effect seems really good, though I must admit it gives me a headache trying to come up with perfect combo plans with him. Definitely need to just play around and get a feel for when and where to best use him.

  • I give it 5/5 just for the name, but the effect is pretty awesome as well.  The only thing that would make it better is if it had battlecry instead of combo, but that would be insane!

  • This is a cool card.  Should see lots of play.  For existing popular Rogue decks, it most likely gives you free cards to abuse in your combo turns, and it even opens up some options for Rogue decks to run some higher cost minions, but not play them at full price (to enable even more shenanigans).  Also, love the name of the card!

You're overthinking. He goes in literally every Rogue deck, and you'll know how to use him when he's in your hand. It will be different every time, and there's no "best" way -- unless you have a very specific combo you need to pull off.
