Never palyed wow but I like this kind of reffrences.
And the Barrens chat goes WILD for long time fan favourite!
The card's mechanic is so flavourful, instant 5 stars.
Olgra, Mankrik's WifeBADCARDNAME
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
I am guessing that when you play him, his wife gets shuffled into your deck, and when you play her something epic happens. Should be fun but in general shuffling cards into your deck hasn't been a reliable strategy.
*edit* Now I see what he shuffles in I think this is actually a pretty decent card. It is cast when drawn and actually has a fairly big impact on the board when you draw it. I imagine this could be played in a midrange deck that doesn't mind a vanilla 3-drop but would also be very happy with the extra push later on.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
So the search continues.
The effect, if im not mistaken, is to send his wife into your deck, which on drawing, cast a 3/10 mankrik to kick the opponent's face immediately.
Not bad, but not really that good neither unless you draw this immediately in the next 2-3 turns. Still, a 10 health mankrik is not an easy nut to crack and mankrik himself starts as a 3/4 for 3, which is already at least a decent card.
good shuffle synergy, i think. vaguely equivalent to ticketmaster, but with the shuffle on battlecry which is way better.
I like it. Decent Stats and if i understand the card correctly it gives you a draw too.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
It...exists?
Like sure, throw it into your deck, why not? Doesn't have any particular synergies but it won't hurt either. Probably a top tier arena card.
Perhaps Shuffle Rogue can do something with it, but I highly doubt that's anything but a meme
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
Interesting card and effect. Never played a lot of WoW (Only the free stuff, and mostly alliance races.) but from what i heard its a meme so seeing it make it into HS is pretty fun. Mankrik has some premium 3 drop stats, and for those wondering what the battlecry does: It shuffles Mankriks wife into your deck which is a Cast when drawn spell, which summons a 3/10 Mankrik that immedialty charges the opponents FACE. So that's a pretty good effect when you find his wife. Also a 10 health minion is quite scary in priest if Inner Fire is a core set card.
Mankrik seems like a good card, BUT it there are several things that are quite bad about him... First of all he has little to no impact when played, which is bad considering immediate impact on the board is something that's important these days (like Rush). And second of all drawing/finding Mankriks wife can take a LONG time depending on your draw. (Same reason Bomb warrior in RoS/Uldum was quite.. unreliable because of the Bomb drawing RNG of your opponent)
However i feel like there will be some meme decks with Mankrik, specificly in wild with shaman. Mankrik alongside double battlecries, bounsing him back into your hand and playing him again might be a fun combo, and add Shudderwock alongside that. That sounds really fun to find a lot of Mankriks wifes. lol. Oh and also i think that some Highlander decks might include him in wild.
Edit: Inner Fire is not in the core set, so that makes Mankrik worse in priest, but there still pushing tempo priest is might still see play in priest.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
I can't wait until you shuffle Olga in and then Tickatus burns it. It will be just like classic WoW and have people asking "where is mankirk's wife?"
Meme aside I think it can be strong in Rogue/Warlock were you can pull out the shuffled card early. A fast 3/10 can be annoying to remove and the threat of buffs can make it a very deadly card. Most other classes I think it's too slow.
Great reference though so 5/5.
Casual Dragon Cardgame enthusiast.
1 Star card because that awfull art.
By The Holy Light!
Seems like an aggro card. Could be good in decks that cycle through the deck quickly, otherwise the game might be over before you even find Mankrik's Wife.
Meh. I like that they made the reference, but the card itself feels underwhelming.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
Too slow for aggro. I don't think even Zoolock would want to slow down and play a 3/4 just to maybe get a payoff. Maybe it sees play in Midrange, but without Highlander support that seems iffy.
A man is lying on the street, some punks chopped off his head
I'm the only one who stops to see if he's dead.
Hmm. Turns out he's dead.
Please, no one would run a vanilla 3/4.
Nobody ever finds Mankrik’s Wife!
This ain't no place for a hero
You're probably right. I thought maybe with enough draw, you could draw his wife quickly. And with bounce cards, engage in some polygamy. I guess I mostly said it because the summoned Mankrik immediately goes face.
3 for 6/14 in stats is pretty solid. Granted you gotta draw the wife, but still
I just love the flavor of this card - brings back memories from 15 years ago :)
All generalizations are false.
Everyone rejoice, Mankrik is finally in Hearthstone! Lok'tar ogar!
I'm excited to try this in a shuffle Rogue.
Chumbawumba is the worst band name.
It could be alright? Likely only makes much sense as an aggressive card. Not sure any slower decks care about a random 3/10. I mean its big stats but not sure it does enough. That said if you just need a solid 3/4 stat line I suppose that this can offer that with a potential upside later.
My first impression this will only find a home in meme decks.
To be competitive with this, you need to be heavily able to cycle through your deck or be able consistently tutor out his wife. The payoff also isn't too great with only a 3/10 body and free 3 face damage.
I never played WoW, so to me it seems like a massive oversight that Mankrik summons ...Mankrik
That was happening with the new Vol'jin too when I was typing on my iPhone. Turned out that the ' that my phone was putting in was not the right one.
On PC now, let's see if it works. Shadow Hunter Vol'jin
EDIT: Apparently it did! To fix it on my phone I tapped and held the ' on the keyboard and made sure to select different options until it worked.
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
10/10 for flavor. No Barrens expansion could exist with out Mankrik and his wife. The card isn't bad either.
Oh the memories. Whether or not he ends up being meta, at least he'll be good for some memes.
Very flavorful, and it could see play in many midrange decks, or at the very least Shuffle Rogue
The flavor is quite nice
This is clearly a great value card. Love it.
-=alfi=-
This seems like a great card in arena
more weak legendaries from this set
I feel like this would be really cool if playing Mankrik generated a side quest called 'Lost in the Barrens' with the same text as Mankrik.
Disclaimer: if the above is factually incorrect or complete rubbish it is definitely both intentional and comedy genius.
Can’t wait for the voicelines of this one
Winner winner chicken dinner
This art is not good :/
can be useful
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Bad implementation flavor wise... if Mankrik is still alive, and you get to draw Mankrik's wife card, you get ANOTHER Mankrik attacking? Why am I suddenly seeing double??
Might be very good, or pretty mediocre. Depends on how consistently you get the 3/10 vs. how often playing a vanilla 3/4 screws you over.
Useless
I liked Mankirk the movie. You really felt the emotions of the main character, and the pacing even though it looked like it was filmed in one go was spot on.
Oh and the card? I don't know, doesn't seem too good for me tbh...
So... Mankrik finds his wife, and like beating a dead horse, resses her just so she can be hurt again? :D
Noxious is a man of few words - unless he's writing a 4000-word essay article that could probably be trimmed down to 2000. His gaming interests range from RTS, action RPGs, shooters, 2D side-scrollers, horror and childhood favorites such as Clive Barker's Undying. His guilty pleasures are World of Warcraft, Path of Exile, Dead Space and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Miracle-style decks will love this, absolute beast of a card for those decks.
Very fun card! Has a great payoff and ok stats when played!
Wow reference noice. But i cant tell what type of deck wants him.
Mankrik might be slow. But I love the concept on this card and want it to triumph! 5 STARS
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Great flavor, but just a simple 3 drop (filler) in most control decks IMO
I want Shuffle Rogue Shenanigans! Just a board full of angry, grieving Husbands.
Also, I like that kind of black humor.
ArtStation | Twitter
This might be good in a Standard Shuffle Rogue, but I can't see it played anywhere else. You need a Midrange deck (this is not Aggro enough these days), that also cycles pretty fast.
Cant see this card in a comp deck
Please Blizzard don't make Mankrik token lethal an achievement, I can't take the grind...
OMG no! Don´t give them ideas XD
On topic: Very interesting idea, not really sure if it´s good enough to put it in your deck, maybe if you have some free spot, why not.
♡ u 4ever 2008 - 2022
Probably a good card for decks you draw a lot. Maybe too for decks who interact with cards that didnt start in the deck.
Murlocs <3
Lots of stats for the cost, and a little face damage - Mankrik is a great card that could slot into just about any deck.
Great flavor and fan service. It's comparable to the Primes, playable 3-drop with a good reward. Probably a go-to card if you need to fill out your non-aggro deck.
Can't wait to get this card and play it :)
Rogue DH
Most cards with these "shuffle X into" effects tend to be at least somewhat playable, so my immediate assumption is to assume this will be too simply by association. Although I will admit that the reward is a bit lousy compared to some of those other cards. A 3/10 minion is not really that big of a threat in most circumstances unless you end up drawing it early.
What does seem pretty funny to me though is the possibility of having a 3/10 and 3/4 Makrik on the field at the same time.
Absolutely loving the flavor and the homage to one of Warcraft's most legendary characters. However, as a card, I don't think the pay-off is worth playing a Spider Tank.
Great additional for throwback reference, I'm excited for more of that in this hearthstone year!
I would be sad to get this as one of the few legendaries. A 3/4 and later a 3/10 that goes face is meh.
OBLIVION!
Cute, interesting card. Probably too inconsistent to see regular play, but 5*s for the reference!
Seems average. I think it will get some fringe use, but nothing that is a build around.
Legendary card and effect can't wait to try it!
I really hope we get another card like Stowaway.
A minion-heavy Priest will love this, if that can be a thing.
Where is Mankrik's Wife?
Poor Mankrik, you can see sadness and worriness in his face
Looks like a fun card! Will probably see play in standard but not in Wild so much.
I think this will see some play in Wild in the rogue decks with Stowaway.
You play Mankirk, and his wife gets shuffled into your deck. Then when you draw her you can see on the art that she is dead. Now Mankirk is angry, so he comes back and hits your opponent in the face
Carrion, my wayward grub.
Flavor.
And an upside to using tutor cards for spells.
Papa Nurgle wants to share his gifts.
What a strange - and not so self-explanatory - battlecry ^^
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
This would've been a regular inclusion in highlander decks. Otherwise, I don't see who would bother to put such a low-impact legendary in their deck.
Find Wife,
Wife Dead,
Sad.
At this point I have spent too much money on these games to quit.
Now pass me another pack, and lets see what I pull.
Underwhelming card
Might be good, might be bad. I see it as a natural include in an aggro draw based DH, but who knows whether that'll work after rotation.
Great flavor, okay card. Prolly won’t see much play.
I have a feeling, this is going to be a Rogue deck in Wild with Togwaggle's Scheme and Tak Nozwhisker.
Nice piece of WoW lore added to Hearthstone, they should add many more in the future!
You get a lot of stats for mana. And it is memey!
Huge highroll potential, I believe at almost Prince Keleseth levels if you play Mankrik on 3 and topdeck the wife on 4.
Rating cards on coolness factor rather than predicting power because I like screwing up rating averages (and because I suck at predicting real power levels, but we'll ignore that LUL)
Wins per class (2/6/22): DH-197; Druid-996; Hunter-91«60; Mage-1056; Paladin-1126; Priest-746; Rogue-961; Shaman-1095; Warlock-871; Warrior-906
I can't wait to try this in my secret mage deck :D
Ribbit
i fel its Prince Keleseth 2.0 highroll potential of this cards is insane
Nice stats
this screams fanmade to me but it it real :D
Nice to have WoW references pop up!
A sad story... a sad story indeed.
Such a cool card! Seems great in any deck with a lot of draw, maybe the rogue mechanics for cards not in deck when starting. And 3 mana 3/4 is a nice good statline
drop this on turn 3 even 2 then insta draw --> legend
It's a little romantic if you think about it
Decent synergy with shadow step and shek'zara. Might be too slow though.
An insane card for decks that have a lot of card draw and cycle, could see this being played a lot in aggro decks with a lot of draw or in control decks even
I think they thought "lets go with that meme" and this card will end like one. Meme decks and meme fun.
I really wonder how this will show itself in the actual meta.
interesting with a crappy or awesome wife
I'm not online it's just your imagination
Shuffle Rogue deck? You can have a board full of Mankriks.
Nice card, but I don't think it will see play since it doesn't support any archetype.
I can see this having value in aggressive Rogue decks that pack a lot of draw. Otherwise, a 3/10 body isn't too bad to buff, even if there's no guarantee it'll pop up. Sadly I don't this will see that much use, despite its awesome flavour.
Started playing HS in May, 2015. The bad news: I missed the excitement of 'Naxx out?' and GvG. The good news: I never met an Undertaker.
Zoo deck? It needs to be drawn fast.
Not sure if I would craft it, but it would feel like an ok pull from packs. I like unique designs like this.
It supports any archetype that draws a lot and is even better if you are able to fish specifically for spells.
Lok'tar ogar!
Weird effect, but the reference is fun
For The HORDE!
Poor Mankirk.
I've been here a while; just hanging out in the background.
Drawing the wife early is almost an auto win, but other than that it seems like a solid card.
Kinda wish the card we found was the spirit of mankricks wife from the shadowlands.
This one does not seem particularly interesting. Maybe because of have like zero WoW lore knowledge.
seems like good tempo on paper, the question is if we will end up having too many strong synergistic cards to include this in any deck, which I think will happen in the end.
I think this card is nuts. 3 mana 3/4 is fine to play, but the highroll potential for a 3/10+face damage later is going to be SUPER strong in aggressive decks that draw fast. Demon Hunter, Rogue, and Warlock all have an easy time drawing their deck fast and will be able to find Makrik's wife pretty easily.
Yeah, should be an interesting option for decks that cycle quickly. There may even be some kind of targeted draw for the wife that makes playing her more consistent. I don't think it's great or terrible, so 3 stars.
Seems ok? But excellent flavour
dont know about wow but that card is decent for replace a card we dont have
more WOW lore cards the better
Probably my favorite card so far!
Banned for spamming.
With the amount of burst being removed from the core set, I could see 3 "inevitable" face damage being highly valued in the post-rotation meta. That being said, Mankrik doesn't make sense in decks that don't have a lot of efficient card draw as you risk Mankrik being just a 3/4 more often than not. Because of this, I see Mankrik fitting into both Rogue and Demon Hunter easily.
For glory, honor, and gold!
Huge value, not too bad stats
Such.a good card design and flavor wise.
I don't know... maybe in zoo style deck it sees play...
I am envoy from nowhere in nowhere. Nobody and nothing have sent me. And even though it is impossible I exist. ©Trimutius
Could be really good in shuffle rogue, if rogue has a way to tutor the 3/10 out by turn 4.
I think this will see play in heavy draw decks. Face damage, of which they are removing a lot of, and the potential for a big body that needs dealing with quite early on.
The card in itself is alright, you've just got to find a deck where you'd rather have this and not a better card ?
This card have a cool lore, but it isn't super strong. 3 mana for 3/4 is just ok and u must wait before X turn before find the wife card and for now it doesn't have any particular synergies. Avarage imho
This card is nuts. Tons of stats and potential to get them right away with card draw.
I've never been good at evaluating the 'shuffle a card into your deck' style of card. I think this looks like a hope for a bit of burst damage in a quick drawing aggro deck.
Unfortunately, common sense isn't as common as it should be.
i want this just it give memories of the time i played wow, but i dont think its going to be a great card unless you can find his wife really fast
meme legendary
Anyone know where Mankriks wife is?
definitely will play this!
Great for Paladin, maybe if we had more spells like the Inspiring one to buff minions in deck. Also with 2-mana Prince, Wild Mankrik seems crazy.
Don't get the reference as a non WoW player. Seems to not be made for me :)
English is not my native language, so please excuse occasional mistakes
Hope his wife is ok!!!
Some cards can be memes even before they are playable. This is definitely one of them. And undoubtedly, there will be an achievement related to this guy and his wife, so I will absolutely going to make sure to play this card.
Arena > Wild > Standard
I don't know which type of decks get supported by this. I guess it will just be played for the "Deal lethal damage" achievement.
Ok, where is she? Good card
way too slow
5 stars just for giving the card quality back story and personality
good card
Kenny's little poet. 😇
And we get it for FREE! Although I doubt it will be meta, the highroll can be real with this one.
Poor Mankrik, arrived just in time to see his wife as a pin cushion
4 Mana 7/7
Not bad stats for 3 mana with some additional summon of 3/10 potential. Could see some play.
Okay card that will see play in draw-heavy decks. A 3/10 that immediately attacks face is pretty good.
Free legendary o/
I think this works well in any deck that's somewhat aggressive and can draw pretty efficiently through its deck. Rogue, basically. I don't think this works as a finisher or is even very powerful in slower decks. I think everyone gets a copy for free, so at least we can all test it out with a variety of strategies.
I don't want to cure cancer; I want to turn people into dinosaurs.
Meme card
Interesting card and effect. Lok'tar ogar!
Finally, he'll have his revenge on those pesky Quillboars!
Seems okay in a draw-heavy aggro deck, but even then I am not sure it's worth the card slot.
~ An expertly disguised dinosaur
Good stats, strong effect.. look forward to shuffling as many as possible
From now on, I say we don't call 3 Mana 3/4 statline a Spider Tank, instead a Mankrik.
Hey, you heard about that Mario guy?
i'm whelmed, but shuffle mankirk seems amusing
can be ok in decks that draw a lot
This card seems really fun, and I hope I can dabble in some bounce shenanigans to generate a multi-Mankrik turn.
Powerful when it works but I think he's too inconsistent to be played in an actual deck. 5/5 flavor though.
Often too late, unreliable and no synergy with archetypes.
Put your faith in the Light!
Seems strong in multiple classes. Rouge can cheat out multiple wives.
This is a nice reference. I don't think the card is amazing, but it at least activates straight away - you don't need to do anything to make it happen.
Welcome to the site!
They went there...
Time to go to wild and dust off the good ol' Augmented Elekks.
