Hello everybody and welcome to the season 6 recap of Fan Community Spotlight. There's a lot that happened in this season since this is the season where we really tried to make it more clear that things were happening over on this side of the community since it doesn't get as much attention as it rightfully should. This has been our first season run mainly by myself and Linkblade91 since Shadows has been kept quite busy, and we also spiced things up this season with a material prize at the end of the season.
The game itself has changed quite a bit for this season, with the biggest thing being Death Knight added to the game. The changes in card design have also been reflective of that in the competitions, and I think that shows in the season that was running from January 2nd to May 29th.
Prologue Competition - The Dead of Knight
The first competition of this season was not an official part of the main season, but a prologue for the events to happen during the season. Victory in this competition did not count towards the season prize, but does still count for the Winner's Gallery as well as the class and member leaderboards.
Main Competitions
The following 20 competitions are the main competitions that occurred in the season.
Side Competition - Inconsistently Consistent
During the season, we ran a side competition in concurrency with There's No Heal Like Overheal and Hard Core. Due to the nature of the competition, it was decided that a victory wouldn't count towards the season prize, although it will still count for the Winner's Gallery and leaderboards.

Prize Winners
At the start of the season, we mentioned that there would be prizes for whoever happens to be first, second, and third on most comps won in the season. It was supposed to be an attempt to increase participation, but see how that turned out...
Anyway, our winner of the first place prize is Wailor a whopping 7 victories this season! Wailor was one month of free premium on the website, a Derpcorn enamel pin, and a Derpcorn sticker.
Our second place winner is Demonxz95 (myself) with 5 victories (remember the prologue competition doesn't count). I'm getting a Derpcorn enamel pin and a sticker.
Last, but not least is the winner of the third place prize, Loknax with 3 main comp victories. Loknax wins a Derpcorn sticker.
How did you enjoy this season? You can let us know in the comments down below or the Season 6 Feedback Thread. While we may not be sure when (or if) another season will happen, we all still hope that you had fun and we appreciate every word you say regarding its status.

Lol half my wins are from this season
I enjoyed observing this season (I don't have enough creative energy to participate in something like this, but I read the forum threads and I voted).
It's interesting to evaluate a fan-made card against the real game. There were several times I thought: well, that doesn't feel like a DH card, or that effect doesn't fit with what Team 5 has said about Warlock gameplay.
Pondering that kind of thing deepens my understanding of Hearthstone, and I appreciate the opportunity.
Thanks, all!
Very interesting insight, I like reading opinions from people outside the community.
I agree with the fact many fan creations don't feel like real cards, because they tend to have quirky mechanics or lean on flavor more than real cards usually do.
That said, I think class identity is usually respected. Which cards rubbed you the wrong way in this regard?
Not any of the finalists, I'm sure. And there were definitely moments of "wow, that card is such a perfect fit I'm surprised it's not actually in the game" too.
Noticing either is just an opportunity to think about card design and the various successes and failures of gameplay and deck building.
Well I was in first place for a long time, but so much for that lol. Wailor blew by me this season, and there may be no opportunity to reclaim the throne, as it were :/
To be fair, your killer season was the first one, which had way more participants. So, I'd say your wins count more xD
Wait... so there were rewards for placing top 3? I think that should've been more emphasized.
I apologize if there wasn't enough emphasis on the prizes, but we did mention this in our Discord: the information has been pinned in the hearth-fancreations channel since before the season began. Here on the site it was in the headline of an article when the season began, mentioned in the Card Design Conversation, and again a few times in-passing throughout the season. I'll be the first to admit we could have structured it better - this was an experiment - but the information was available.
A reminder directly on the site would have probably done the better trick, and would attract people who may not necessarily want to join the server. It's alright that you had tried.
