Descent of Dragons hit yesterday and with it, we all received a copy of each of the Galakronds. Put them to great use and experimentation with some awesome Galakrond Decks!
Keep in mind that we're still early on in the expansion so meta swings are going to be fast! We're not saying you should craft any of the cards in these decks just yet, but they can be good starter templates to play with those sweet Galakronds we all got for free.
Decks are courtesy of HSReplay, as are stats in the image below. All stats used in headings are the global winrates of decks containing that particular Galakrond.
60.7% WR // Shaman - Galakrond, the Tempest
55.2% WR // Warlock - Galakrond, the Wretched
52.3% WR // Warrior - Galakrond, the Unbreakable
49.9% WR // Rogue - Galakrond, the Nightmare
41.0% WR // Priest - Galakrond, the Unspeakable

i think rogue and warrior little lower than i expect but maybe it because they have lot of version and other one just have straight game plan
I spent the first day trying to make Galakrond Priest work. Holy cow is that a bad card. They did a terrible job balancing the Invoke cards, and the Priest Galakrond hero power is just terrible. Not even fun! "You know what Priest players want? A random Lightwell added to their hand."
I think Galakrond Priest has potential in theory, its just high-rolly and also getting drowned out by other more efficient decks. The game needs to last long--ideally into fatigue--for the HP to be meaningful, and right now most games are closing out much much sooner, so it ends up depending on exactly which random minions you received. If you roll [Hearthstone Card (Catrina Muetre) Not Found], Grave Horror, [Hearthstone Card (Convincing Inflitrator) Not Found], etc multiple times you probably win; if you roll Lightwell, Sand Drudge, Dead Ringer, and Test Subject multiple times you probably lose. If they had done Discover instead of random, I think it might be too powerful (re: Deathstalker Rexxar and Doctor Boom). Maybe if it was like Shifter Zerus but for just priest minions, so if you rolled a bad one you could just wait another turn?
Personally been having a fair amount of success with a slower variant of Galakrond Warrior than the one shown here, but not a Control list. This is more what I'd class as being a tempo/midrange deck, basically just curving out dragons/rushes with just Galakrond and Mad Deathwing at the top end. Has enough game to go toe-to-toe with pretty much anything on the board before finishing with swings to face from Galakrond.
P.S. Playing a Galakrond-buffed Fluffy Kibler Dragon Scion of Ruin (that will always be its name to me) is one thing. Picking one up from Galakrond with its cost reduced to (1), copying it with War Master Voone, then playing it on the following turn alongside Barista Lynchen? That's quite another. Hand full o' fluff.
Whether which Galakrond will be good enough is largely depend on the invoke cards, and its no surprise that Galakrond shaman is currently the best around. They simply invoke Galakrond faster than every other class, and it buys tempo too.
No surprise that Galakrond rogue couldn't find its feet. Was up yesterday desperately trying to make it work but the invoke cards were much too weak. Lost tempo almost every time I tried playing them and in a class without much healing that's basically an auto concede. Kinda sad, was really wanting Galakrond rogue to be a thing.
Despite the number of players using warlocks galakrond, they are doing actual good, hopefully this goes up as the time goes
Shaman is definitely OP, constant rush minions and then four 8/8 bodies with quest is hard to deal with. Hopefully it will get some sort of nerf if it's still a problem once the meta settles.
I have only played it between ranks 20-15, but I'm currently 10-1 with this Galakrond priest deck I made:
As it was predicted before launch, Shaman Galakrond is the strongest, but I wonder how much of this is a self-fulfilling profecy and we will see a correction pretty soon.
sometimes I think Blizzard secretly loves nerfing Shaman so they just completely overbuff them from time to time.
Or maybe they have PTSD from the time when Shaman was a complete meme class and had no direction.
Either way, I'M genuinely shocked that Warlock Galakrond is performing that well. I was sure that it was going to be a complete mess.
Priest is also surprising, because from my experience it works fine as a grindy control deck. Maybe people are memeing too hard with combos or haven'T found the most consistent build yet (I think Grave Rune combos with Wretched Reclaimer or Shadowy Figure are the way to go, with Talanji as a lategame powerplay)
Warrior plays great with a control build. You can stall the game until you get Galakrond and then use the hero power and the buffed minions to close out the game.
After opening packs, I didn't have much time to play last night, but I went 7-1 with a control Galakrond Warrior. I ran every Invoker I had, plus Kronx of course, a suite of removal, and a bunch of nasty boys for buffing: Tomb Warden, Restless Mummy, Scion of Ruin, etc. I even brought back the Vicious Scraphound - Zilliax - Sweeping Strikes combo for massive heal and armor gain. My only loss was to a Quest Priest who simply ran me out of resources with Mass Hysteria, Plague of Death, etc. Had a ton of fun!
yeah, Control Galakrond seems to be pretty decent.
My only problem so far is the lack of draw. Just Town Crier and Shield Block doesn't cut it and I'M tempted to try Acolyte despite the lack of activators....or maybe just Slam
Either way, Warrior'S Hero power is super underrated, especially if you can double up on it later on for huge burst.
That's awesome!
Honestly, playing a Scion that you drew with Galakrond is one of the most fun plays ever. Three 7/6 rushers is insane, and for only 3 mana!
Shaman is getting a target on it's head. Go get 'em bois! I say this with this being the current deck I'm playing...
