I'm really liking this theme of "health changing", and this looks like a very flexible and fun way to lower the cost of a high-stat card.
Official Lorekeeper and Spinner of Tavern Tales
Looks like this should be relatively easy to get discounted few times, might have to work a bit for the full discount tho.

Looks more like a priest card than a warlock one.
0 mana 8/8. If there was a way to duplicate this into the hand, then you've just got yourselves a bunch of free giants.
Just a very strong card thats flexible enough to fit into any warlock deck, and some select priest decks.
Getting a partial discount is easy, but it will take quite a bit of time (and Health in the case of Warlock) to get this thing really cheap. It could definitely be good, but I'm not so sure.
and have returned.
At least 3+5 damage to own face, instant Turn 3 double Flesh Giants.
A very interesting card for sure, but it seems like it will more easily find a home in Warlock than Priest. With how easy it is to damage your hero in Warlock, I could see a possible tempo or midrange self-damage warlock come to fruition with this plus the other P/W card revealed today. The issue in Priest is that there are some matchups where you will not be able to consistently heal your face. Additionally, Warlock self-damage cards have above-average stats for the cost to compensate for hurting your face, making it easier to play them on curve while Priest healing effects are more conditional in getting value (your hero has to be damaged) and their healing takes up power budget instead of allotting more. All that said, Priest's quest saw amounts of success despite running into similar issues, so this might find a home there as well.
Pretty much 0 mana giant on quest lock, free tempo in mid/early game its even better than mountain giant in most cases 5 stars
Yes, but also Disciplinarian Gandling looks more like a warlock card than a priest card. Maybe all of theset will always weight more on 1 class than the other.
Not sure what deck needs a plain 0 mana 8/8 right now, but this is easy enough to discount in pain zoolock that it could be very good at 4 or 5 mana as a curve topper.
This post is discussing the wild format.
The discount is easy to obtain specially for an Handlock. Can fit well in other lock deck meanwhile for Priest is difficult to abuse since healing can't be done with 30 hp. So...this is a lock card only probably
If you tap 3 turns in a row it's 5 mana 8/8, definetly not mountain giant but late game it is, control lock could use 0 mana 8/8s.. Shadow flame, defender of Argus, sunfury protector, like og hand lock.. Twilight drake is still a thing.. Well mountain giant isn't this replaces the card.
Looks like a pretty nice giant for Warlock that’s easy to reduce the cost of. Bit more awkward for priest, but still not too hard
Who needs consistency when you could have fun?
This certainly is interesting. I would be happy to open one or two of these to play around with, though I am not sure exactly what deck wants them right now. I guess a zoolock type deck with Darkglare and Flame Imp and stuff. Priest is kind of tricky since healing your face is a bit harder to do than damage it. I am pretty sure somewhere a deck is going to really want two copies of these, I am just not sure exactly what that deck looks like.
Carrion, my wayward grub.
For anyone who doubt of its potency for Warlock, I'd like to remind you that a giant was once nerfed and hall of famed because it was doing a little too good into Warlock's lists - I could be wrong - who knows?
Struggle with Heroic Galakrond's Awakening? I got your back :
The last two class giants printed for Priest and Warlock saw minimal play during their initial release before being substituted for more efficient minions.
Grave Horror was a 12 mana minion that was discounted by (1) for each spell you cast on your turn and Jumbo Imp was discounted by (1) for each friendly demon that died while it was in your hand.
This Giant will most likely see home in a control deck, which Priest and Warlock can excel at, where damage mitigation is key.
This means taking damage and restoring it.
Warlock has good tools that help them TAKE damage, their default hero power helps them deal 2 damage to themselves while they draw this card. There's also a long list of spells and minions and standard and wild that allows the warlock to hurt themselves to receive a positive benefit, Rain of Fire has been a popular mention already, but their class healing is very very weak, with NetherBreath and Aranasi BroodMother requiring deck construction to utilize them the best.
Priest has the opposite problem, they can restore 2 health with their hero power, but their library is more geared toward self help than self hurt. Priests are able to mitigate damage taken but they won't be able to be proactive on the damage end.
Cards such as this and the Brittlebone Destroyer I believe will help open doors to old archetypes and decklists of Warlock and Priest - self harm and Obelisk Priest. Warlock received some cards that didn't see much play with Neferset Destroyer and Diseased Vulture, two cards that reward self punishing plays. Priests Obelisk quest saw some fairly competitive play in Ulduum, and a deck list that requires you to mitigate what your opponent damages sounds like it'd be a shoe in.
I believe this would make this giant a contender for control decks, but not the popular handlock or resurrect priests we've seen since they're overtaken with the Galakrond package since DoD
Firstly - the theme is magnificent. This is as dark as I was hoping the Warlock/Priest combo would be. A fatty nose with legs. Why, I could see this bloke shopping at Walmart!
Secondly - does this trigger for 'each time your health changed during one of your turns', or 'each time your health changed during one of your turns?' That is to say/blather on, does its cost reduce by one for each turn during which your health changed, or for each time your health changed, turns notwithstanding? I'm guessing it's the first, because if it were the second, you wouldn't need to state 'during one of your turns' - the text would be 'each time your health changed this game'.
Terti-idon'tcare-ally - even though that means that our new big honker ain't so strong as the other folks here think, since cards like Spreading Madness would only reduce its cost by one, it's still flabbergastingly good! (Get it? Flab? haha. wee.) Damage yourself on turns 1-4, and voila, you have a playable 4-mana 8-8 for turn 5, ready to be copied, taunted, and Shadow Word: Ruin'd.
Better call Thrall!
Those cards that can be reduced to 0 cost are always tricky to balance around - one wrong move and you have an OP card that comes on t3/t4. I wonder how this one will unfold.

EU Legend: S52 (ZooHeal Lock); S76 (Highlander Hunter);
a 8/8 for 0 mana in late game and a turn 4 8/8 in several cases ... good card
I am 69 years old and still reach Legend
Priest needs some cheap selfdamage card like Shadowbomber to take profit of that mechanic. But I think that blizz will not push shadowpriest anymore.
By The Holy Light!
As I found pointed out elsewhere, the new Priest/Warlock cards fit Evenlock pretty well.
And I wonder if the archetype could actually be revived already in Wild, maybe with a focus on healing and taunt.
Without more support this is too similar to Frost Giant
Only works if you have ways to damage (or heal) yourself multiple times a turn.
I guess being only 8-mana makes it a lot less clunky, but I'm still not all that convinced
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
there is some card that can damage you, like Soulbound Ashtongue that priest can benefit!
I realy love this Health Changing Theme they are going for !
I think this card is very good in both Classes - and not that hard to get it discounted.
Challenge me ... when you're ready to duel a god!
Painlock lookin' good. Most of these priest/warlock cards seem pretty biased towards warlock, especially evenlock, but in could work in priest since they are really pushing tempo/midrange/aggro/zoo/not-control-or-combo priest in both expansions this year. So even if this won't be enough, the last expansion will most likely bring more tools and it could work then.
Seems like a powerfull Minion. But i feel like zoolock will stilll use Sea Giant instead of Flesh Giant, unless the self damage package gets acces to some healing.
For priest, we will have to see how powerfull zoo/aggro priest will become. But i feel like the cards condition is way harder to fulfill for priest.
RNG is only fun as long as there is a 50/50 chance of getting something really good or trash level of bad. If RNG always results in something good, then it's not fun.
Is that Rotface’s baby brother? This could see a lot of use for both classes, nice to see a new take on giants also.
Aww! He's all fleshy!
Looks very good! Flexible for both classes, but not OP. There was a time when cheap/free 8/8's won you the game. That time has passed.
"Be excellent to each other." -Bill and Ted
It works with both warlock hero power, self damage and heals.. control warlock runs all of those:
Aranasi Broodmother, Nether Breath,Rain of Fire, Crazed Netherwing
https://hsreplay.net/decks/SZxxNPz5UvJysLNOGqh0B/
this deck could use a cheap 8/8..
it reminds me of old school (heh.. school) handlock and their 0 mana Molten Giants.. just that this time they are not relying on the opponent making mistakes.
They made sure this card just isn't playable on turn 4 like Mountain Giant but it takes a similar space in warlock decks.
Not a very good card, its effect will cause too much to activate for it to be able to dropped early, and later on the discount is less impactful than using your mana more efficiently in the early turns.
It's not just the HP, we have many card that heal/damage our face, so i believe that this can be some late game option.
Alright, now that the Soul Shard mechanic is out this is suddenly pretty good.
Tapping into soul shards can give you multiple discounts so it's not unlikely to get this out fairly early.
I tried having fun once.
It was awful.
It's going to be tricky that it says "times you change health" and not "amount".... many are going to fall for that difference.
Great card
Lemushki - The one and only since the 2006 rebranding.
Definitely better in Warlock than in Priest.
Amazing tempo card for warlock
I'm not feeling this card to be honest. Giants are always cool to see but this one doesn't feel like it's going to be seeing much action in the same way that Mountain Giant and the past giants that have seen play in warlock. The soul fragment mechanic helps it out a ton but it still feels a bit like magical christmas land to get them out early.
Cardboard wizard and dog haver.
imagine turn 3 flame imp into tap and you can see how strong this card can be
All hail the banshee queen.
Between damaging cards and Soul Fragments, I think this will get rapidly discounted.
Good tie in with both classes, so easy to trigger and get a 0 cost in warlock.
I'm excited to experiment with this card, but it's not clear how good this will be yet.
It would actually be super cool if some stats site had info about how often health total changes by turn X to make this minion's cost also X, but I doubt those numbers are worth pulling before the expansion for a single card.
Nevertheless, we will find out if this is ridiculously strong or meh shortly.
0 mana 8/8. OP card.
So easy to reduce the cost, can make everyone forget the Mountain Giant ever existed. Folks will come to hate this thing, and will pack all their best removal tools in anticipation, because turn 4 8/8 should end up being a pretty common occurrence for Warlocks. When you're playing against a priest, I guess you can just hang back a bit, like when Activate the Obelisk is up, and try to build a board to overwhelm (and then get wrecked by Soul Mirror or Plague of Death, haha). Should see a lot of play, but I think in the end everyone will adjust to it, and it will only feel OP when the draw just doesn't go your way.
Might replace Sea Giant or they packaged together in zoolock, very keen.
TREMBLE before.... the most legendary dragon that ever existed!
This will be soooooooo easy to play discounted. I expect this alone will spawn some sort of masochist Lock, Priest or both, akin to how Mountain Giant created OG Handlock.
I agree with you, even if you don't play it until turn 10, it's cost will be zero and you can't beat that.
Looks like 0 mana 8/8 many times
-=alfi=-
Giants making a comeback.
Thanks to denial, I'm immortal.
I want to try masochist mechanic on warlock with Soul Fragments. If you manage to steal one, it count's as 2 health changes. This is a very good card imho
In Warlock, the earliest you can usually get this out for 5 mana on turn 5. It is possible to get this out on turn 4 with two 0 mana activations like a Soul Fragment and Raise Dead, but this isn't likely. So the question stands: Mountain Giant usually was played on turn 4 at its earliest; does a 1 turn delay on a giant decrease its viability? I think it doesn't decrease it by much, making Flesh Giant a great incentive to play a Handlock archetype with the Soul Fragment package most likely and increasing that archetypes competitive viability.\
In Priest, it's tough to discount this early, making the giant more of a late game play, which is unnecessary as Priest has Galakrond, the Unspeakable for the late game.
For glory, honor, and gold!
I just... um... ... Gross!
Quick! Someone give me something clever to write here.
Favourite card of the set! I love the mechanic on this so so much.
Welcome to the site!
Very strong card, I can see it being played even by aggressive decks since it's so easy to make it a 0 cost 8/8.
