I'm not sure what it is about this card, but it is my favourite card art so far of the expansion reveal. <3
Ooh, I think I'm going to have some fun with this in wild since over there has all kinds of cool big demons. And I think this would be my third favorite card art of this expansion too. (Probably subject to change as more cards gets revealed)
she's a cool teacher who wears sunglasses and is a legendary for my favorite class.
10/10 design, 5 stars, best legendary in the set, go home everyone
crazy, insane, love it
I really like the concept and big decks are some of my favorites but 9 mana is a lot. We need better demons to justify this in standard. It could be pretty good in Wild though so i'm highly interested in this one!
Ok in wild they already have an archetype for this... In standard well need to see how big demons would work...
Its interesting, but the cost is too high, and unlike the much better Kathrena Winterwisp, it does not guard against board clears, so most likely you summon two demons which will immediately face a board wipe, depriving you of value.
But that's not to say that this card cant do anything good, at least in standard. Being able to get 2x Enhanced Dreadlords can easily just be game ending, not least by the fact that the dreadlords themselves sport a pretty nasty deathrattle.
Unfortunately, since this has negative synergy with Kanrethad Prime, its very likely just a dreadlord or bust gameplan which can be immediately swept by Plague of Death, which nearly all priest will run.
Not impressive for a legendary, but its not nearly as unplayable as it looks.
Current "big" demons that Willow could use(for now):
Jumbo Imp: 8/8, good stats, no inmediate impact on the board
Lord Jaraxxus: 3/15, not a great demon to pull
Enhanced Dreadlord: 5/7 taunt, leaves a 5/5 lifesteal when dies, great, since it's sticky, provides healing if removed, and has impact since has taunt
Fel Lord Betrug: 5/7, it becomes a removal priority, but since you can't abuse him due plot twist being a 2 cost, it's not great
Supreme Abyssal: 12/12 , can't attack heroes. Great stats, but no inmediate impact on the board
Siegebreaker: 5/8 taunt, gives at least the other demon you pull +1 attack, has impact since it has taunt, and if you had demons ready to attack, buffs them
Aranasi Broodmother: 4/6 taunt, healing effect probably will not trigger, but stills puts a taunt in the board
Dread Infernal: 6/6, no inmediate impact on the board
Xavius: 7/5, no inmediate impact on the board, althoug if you have a 1 cost(or 0) card he can generate tokens
Pit Lord: 5/6, no inmediate impact on the board, ignores his battlecry which is ok
Nightshade Matron: 5/5 rush, has impact on the board, negates the discard
There are more, but the others are either too weak or similar to the ones I mentioned here
It's worth mentioning that on turn 10 you can use Fluffy Broon to give all this minions rush at the same time they are summoned
IMO Enhanced Dreadlord, Siegebreaker, Aranasi Broodmother, Nightshade Matron and Jumbo imp are the best choices right now(but not all could fit in the same deck)
Maybe a handlock could run this, also The Dark Portal into Willow is INSANE
I think, Imp meh, just 8-8 without anything, but other 4, yep, you re right. Still not like 3-9 taunt with 3 1-3 inside, but playble.
Imho, still don t see how control lock can win in standart, no busrt damage, no infinite generation, only 2 healings and rely on dragons. Maybe unrevealed cards have something more.
Yeah Jumbo imp is the weakest of the "best", but is still an 8/8 which has to be dealt with. Think of Willow like Dragonqueen Alex
Turn 9, Willow=7/7, 8/8, 5/7 (enhanced dreadlord), if you have 2 0 cost jumbo imp in hand (which a Galakrond deck with Felosophy can achieve), you can put another 8/8 more, or even better, if you have 2 0 cost jumbo imps in your hand and more demons, and Willow doesn't pull both Jumbos, you can put them for a tremendous board presence. And if your Jumbos survive, turn 10 Alextraza+ Broon(which gives alex rush) could be letal
A Galakrond Warlock should have several ways to clear board on turn 8(plague, void...), and answering your opponent turn 8/9 with this kind of play doesn't sound bad
IMO there are some missing cards for this to work, but maybe it's a good way to go
I kinda wish this would be a demaonhunter card, big DH really needs some support to be viable
Boring af !
I can't believe how Team 5 finds themes for classes in new expansions. Same shit over and over again. No new mechanic or playstyle, Everytime same playstyles. Cheat big minions, burn, random fiesta, aggro pushovers, armor stacks, resurrecting etc. You may think that i'm shittalking here but I really meant it.
Just look at fan creation forums and look for those brilliant ideas that fans create and how much possible creative and interesting mechanics that can be brought to the game. I really feel sad to see same mechanics pushed in new expansions over and over again.
We already experienced Big Demon recruiting and Mana Cheating well enough in K&C. The only meta was Warlock there and they are pushing it for Warlock again. What's the purpose of this really ? Didn't it become meta before?
if youre that worried about a possible warlock meta, let me assure you that as long as Glide still exist, the only warlock deck that can pass without you tearing your hair out would be zoo.
I'm not worried about a warlock meta. I'm worried about repetative gameplaying experience. That's what I wrote up there, and this warlock card was just an example of that repetetive stuff which the game devs cooked over and over again and served to us over and over again.
We are playing same strategies with fancier cards, they are fancier just because they are new but they are old, not new. That's what I was talking about.
Btw, I'm glad there are cards like Glide, Secret Passage, Magehunter, Star Student Stelina, Lorekeeper Polkelt, Sphere of Sapience etc. even if they become useless because they are actually new. At least they are new for Hearthstone.
I tried to play a big demon warlock this expansion and failed miserably, two of the main weakness of the deck were
1. No crazy turns (beside the turn playing the prime, but it comes too late)
2. In some match ups not enough value
This card solves the first problem, you get a good turn 9, similar to unnerfed Alex DQ power, but the demons you have in your deck are big and defend you so it's less RNG. There is a bit of anti-synergy with the prime if it's already in your deck/hand when you play this.
2. The second problem can be solved with the 1 mana spell revelead before, copying the prime can be very powerfull in longer grindy games.
I don't know if those will be enough to make the deck playable, but i hope to open this card in a pack and try it because i like it a lot
Too bad this has anti-synergy with Kanrethad Prime
only a minor one though.
You can always just play this before Kanrethad so you don't run the risk of pulling him, and even if you do it's not the end of the world.
I'd rather play for an early Kanrethad Prime than stick with this card. Especially given that Felosophy is absolutely crazy with the prime.
This card CLEARLY belongs in a big demon warlock deck. So why the ef do you showcase it in a zoolock, why?
because Warlock doesn't have many big demons yet (and I assume they're getting some that have yet to be revealed). They just didn't wanna spoil
