  • Nautilus is the Newest Champion Coming to Legends of Runeterra in the Rising Tides Expansion + Deep Mechanic

    Looks like Maokai just found a new best friend.

    I really like the art on those new Sea Monster cards.  Not to mention that The Beast Below continues the 4 mana 7/7 meme.

    Salvage looks like a simply good card to me. I haven't played too much LoR recently, but if I remember right most card draw is conditional. Yes it's expensive, but it's on demand card draw without a real drawback.

  • Six Solid Standard Decks From Hearthstone's Great Content Creators

    Sorry, but that Chump Deathrattle priest is just bad.  There are so many bad choices there.  Why would anyone...EVER...in a Deathrattle priest deck evvvvverrrrr put acard like Temple Enforcer instead of a Convincing Infiltrator?  Honestly.  Why?  And Argent Squire?  Just swap it out for the one mana Invoke priest minion and you’ll have WAY more value.  Oh yeah, and while you’re at it, do yourself a favor and drop in Galakrond.

    Do the streamers make junk like this just to troll people looking to netdeck?  Because if so, I can appreciate that.  But if someone who plays Hearthstone for a living seriously thinks that’s a good decklist, then holy dang.

    Ok Blizzard, Rogue is a problem, and has been a problem for a very long time. Can you stop giving them cards with infinite value? I'm really sick of every match being either Rogue or DH. This meta is stale as shit.

    Me: "how many more times my highlander rogue opponents will get Reno from  dragon's hoard?"

    Blizzard: "yes"

  • Elusive Balancing - Showerthought...

    Not sure how annoying flying creatures are in MTG, but Magic has a few saving graces:
    1- All collors have flying units.
    2- The creature needs to tap in order to declare an attack, so it won't be able to block next turn unless its untapped;
    3- At least in my days, saved a few problematic creatures like Hypnotic Specter, flying creatures were a bit too cost-expensive in general to be abused;
    4- MTG has board clear spells from T4;
    5- Floodgates;
    6- Ping effects.

    While its true both concepts share some similarity, LoR elusives are far worse given the limited tools to play around it.

  • Swaguar's Post-Nerf, Turn 8 Mecha'thun Warlock

    Crafted the Hemet and this deck is lit. Reminds me of the time when it was viable in standard. Only lost my first game so far because I Hemet'd before I had a PT in hand. Haha. Won't make that mistake again.

    It is really surprising to me how consistent a turn 8 lethal setup is.

    This has to be Nautilus right?  Can't wait to see what his effect is.

    Pike I guess, based on lore.

  • Wild Weekend Decks to Help Climb Hearthstone's New Ranked Ladder - Get Those Freebies!

    I think it is different in Cubelock than in Egg Hunter. For one, you have plenty of tools to kill him on the same turn you play him, so you wouldn't be losing tempo or have to risk getting it transformed or silenced or anything. Also, you don't have a lot of minions that you would be upset about killing. All of your minions that don't have Deathrattles are either so small that you shouldn't care much about what happens to them, or they are Mal'Ganis and you are happy about getting extra copies in the rez pool.

    I like the smaller Taunts because it helps you against faster decks, and it I am always able to get Sulfuras out just as I start running low on cards. Plus, with buff cards like Bolster and Into the Fray those taunts can be very useful for keeping wide boards at bay.

  • [LEGEND] Wild Taunt Warrior

    Nice to hear. Good luck on the climb!

  • [LEGEND] Wild Taunt Warrior

    This deck is great! I played it some in Casual and went 3-0, then I played on ranked and went 6-1. I am now at Diamond 2 with 3 stars, tomorrow I will continue to climb and hopefully make it to Legend!

    *edit* my luck has turned. I got to rank 1, 1 star, but then quickly started losing games and now I am back at rank 3. I feel like unless you can get either Into the Fray or Bolster early on, you will have a very hard time dealing with Demon Hunters and Mech/Murloc Paladins. Most of my losses were against aggro decks that just snowballed way too hard and put out way more threats than I had answers for. And by the time I played Sulfuras I had already lost.

  • (Demon) Hunters everywhere (And some Rogues)

    I climbed to legend with control - galakrond-priest(non highlander, no res-bullshit) this month. You have enough heals to survive against dh and facehuntards and enough value to beat any late game deck thanks to galakrond.

    I played with some stealy cards (2 thoughtsteal, madame lazoul) for extra value and extra fun, although you could alsp tech in even more anti aggro stuff if you feel like you don't really need the value.

    I saw the list on nohandsgamers YouTube channel, although I believe he picked it from another site and did not create it himself.

    So many rogue secrets...

    Btw, since I'm still pretty new to this, what happens if I or someone else submitted a card that had the same design?  Would they be disqualified?  I don't think it's fair for someone to submit a card early and get lower scores because someone else submitted a card later that did the same thing.  There's no way of knowing, of course.  It could be just a coincidence.

    If it can be proven that one card was plagiarism over another, then cards can be disqualified for that reason.

    Otherwise though, nothing happens. A few people might penalize one card's score for this, though I'm not sure how many people (if any) do this.

    There's a lot of gray area with these things, as-to whether or not it's a coincidence when cards feature a very similar design. For example, to be fair to the "Dormant for 2 turns" people, it is a prominent feature of the most recent expansion, one in which we also saw the return of Rogue Secrets. That could explain its prevalence.

    The other thing is that a number of people who submit don't use our Discussion thread (although we sure wish they would!). For those of us who do, we see peoples' concepts and think "welp, that idea is taken", but the people who don't come to the thread don't see that a person has essentially called "dibs" on a particular idea. Are they swiping the idea for themselves, or did they simply come up with the same thing and didn't notice? It's hard to know the difference, especially for a common idea like the aforementioned Dormant cards. I feel bad for the thread-users who get placed in this position, but I also don't believe we should disqualify the others who came up with a similar concept...just yet, anyway (unless we knew for a fact that they stole the idea, of course). It's something we have to keep an eye on.

    TL;DR: We'll most likely give everyone a pass on this one because "Dormant for X turns" is a part of the latest expansion and people want to utilize the new hotness. If this happened to someone with a very unique concept, red flags would be raised and we would get together to discuss it. It won't always amount to action because it can be hard to prove such things, but we would not take it lying down.

    If there are two cards with the same design then nothing happens. People still vote on them just like any other card.

  • (Demon) Hunters everywhere (And some Rogues)

    I doubt you can consistently out-Tempo DH right now, unless you go Egg-Tempo (Warrior, but Priest also looks interesting).

    Maybe you should consider some Control decks, and/or Highlander packages, including heals, sticky minions, and efficient removals.

    Or you try and go hard with Aggro, like very hard, Face-Aggro.

    Either way, I think playing against DH equals to hardmode...

    I just lost an Arena match against a Mage who was dead on his feet and managed an incredible turn around. It started with Dune Sculptor into freezing my board, which gave him Kalecgos. Of course he pulled Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron from him. At that point I had already despaired. The box gave him not one but two Nagrand Slam and perfectly Shadowflameed my board. I still got him down to 1 HP and top decked a Frost Nova but of course he had some heal in hand, froze my last remaining minions and killed me the next turn, happily emoting "Thank you". Thank you indeed, RNG-esus.
